I am really struggling with Windows 10 to get a working mandatory profile with start menu and tiles, no matter what guide I follow I just can not seem to get it to work. Does anyone have a definitive step by step guide on these 3 items before I pull out what little hair I have left? For my sanity many thanks.

Hi Kenny, Working through your script and I have a small problem with the second part sandbox-settings, I have obviously missed something The first part works flawlessly and installs VirtualBox and creates the sandbox folder and copies all the files, when it moves on to the second script it says Virtual Machine Sandbox_clone not found. Do I have to create the virtual machine first for the script to find it or should it all be automated? If I create the VM first then it just says VM already exists, as I say I have probably missed a step somewhere can you give me a nudge in the right direction Thanks

Thanks all, scrapped the idea of putting it on the clone and decided to look at auto installing it after cloning.

I am trying to set up Virtual Box on my reference image which is a VM on hyper so that I can run Linux for the computer science students. No matter what I do I can not get any linux distro to install. The reference machine is a windows 10 VM running on Hyper-V, I have installed Virtual Box on this reference image. When I run Virtual Box and create a new VM it shows the 4 CPUs that the VM has but all options are grayed out and it is set to use 1 CPU. Virtual Box only allows me to select 32bit versions of Linux as the OS and when installing from any Linux ISO it just hangs. Has anyone managed to successfully install virtual box and a windows 10 VM and then install a Linux virtual machines with a host VM? Thanks in advance

Only occurs on my Fileserver, which have to drives each from the host as a VHDX, main drive is the OS hosted on our Nimble Storage device, the second drive the the data drive hosted as vhdx files on a QNAP device. Other servers backup fine just not these, keep getting Hyper-V VSS Writer failure. I have raised a case with Veeam this morning but thought I would post here on the off chance anyone has had a similar issue. Hosts are Server 2012 R2, Veeam is fully up to date. This is a brand new Veeam install as I have just swapped from Backup Exec.

Hi all, Just need some advice on how you would approach this task I currently have 3 stand alone Hyper-v servers all are identical in spec hosting various server VMs. I want to move this to a 3 node cluster but using the existing 3 Servers as the cluster. I have set up a Clustered shared volume for Hyper-v in readiness on our Nimble Storage Box to hold the VMs but have not yet connected anything to it. How would you go about moving everything across and what precautions/pitfalls to I need to be aware of in the process. Do I need to move the VMs off of the hosts before adding them to a cluster etc. Each server has 128GB RAM and 16 physical cores/32 logical. Thanks in advance.

I seem to have fixed it, I deleted the contents of my central Policy Definitions folder and then copied the contents from c:\windows\PolicyDefinitions back into the empty folder and I can now read the GPO settings.

I installed windows 10 templates into our PolicyDefinitions central folder, now all I get is errors when opening the policy part of any group policy. I imported them when I added my first 2012 R2 domain controller but I still had a 2008 R2 DC as well. Group Policy seems to be working but it's a pain to edit any policies now as it is not showing any settings. Any idea on how to repair this, I have tried restoring individual gpos from a backup but it still throws the same errors. Thanks in advance.

We would get involved to be honest and have done in the past, bullying, sexting, racism etc. towards pupils doesn't end at 3pm, it is also an extension of solid pastoral care as well.

I am trying to set up a channel for the school in YouTube. I have created a school account but is there any way or whats the best way to achieve departmental channels to separate out the video? I would like students to visit the channel and select the department to view the relevant videos, is this even possible ? Many Thanks

I now have the inter Vlan routing for dhcp working using the Layer 3 switch, many thanks for the help. @FN-GM I would still appreciate your views on the router config though

Although I have just noticed a multilayer switch 3560 in Packet Tracer so I will look into that, I would still like to get the router issues resolved though so I can learn as much as possible.
