I am skeptical as the 'problem solving' will be/is being taught by people with no 'problem solving' skills themselves, no real world ones anyway.

Agreed the amount of people who are unable to carry out even the most basic troubleshooting of their technology makes me wonder how on earth they manage at home when something goes wrong with their tech/TV/Kettle/Smart fridge and no IT staff around to 'Fix it'. I have had young people complain that their TV is not working when it's just flat batteries in the remote, no basic trouble shooting skills at all. If that is being a digital native then I am glad I am not tarred with that title.

What a load of old Tosh, by the the definition of a Digital Immigrant I should be like my grandad, who I might add was writing his memoirs on an Amiga A600 when they first came out. Load of rubbish. I've had a computer and gaming since I was 10, years before these so called digital natives were a twinkle in their daddies eyes, in fact I and a lot of my generation are more au fait and integrated with technology than many many people born into the so called digital native period or even born today. All they are are Digital consumers as most of them take the technology for granted without any understanding or willingness to understand of how any of it works, yet they are described as better able to pick up new technologies.

I was born in 72 and I have used the internet since the early 90's, and I use technology at every opportunity, so what does that make me if not a digital native?

Show my homework should not need the UPN, I am pretty sure that according to the DfE you should not give out the UPN to 3rd party companies.

We have a couple of VI students and need to be able to share what is on the teachers screen to the students iPad. VI from the local authority keep telling me to use this and use that because other schools have but when I look into the licensing aspects of join.me or teamviewer etc, these are all bits of software that should be paid for and licensed correctly to use in the fashion we require, but, all VI say is other schools do it for free! I am not prepared to fudge licensing rules it's not fair on us or the developers, so, does anyone have any suggestions on how to achieve this without any cost, the student needs to be able to walk into the classroom, open their ipad and get the teachers screen shared to them. In light of the recent attacks I have decided to overhaul my SCCM server to include SUP patch deployment. I have uninstalled and reinstalled WSUS and the SUP several times now but still can not seem to all the new updates. The newest by Bulletin ID is MS17-008 and that shows as metadata only so not downloadable If I sort by name it shows the May Roll up but again only metadata. Anyone shed some light on my plight?

I am just about to order 130 of these with the AIO monitors, I am getting all mine with the optional extra HDMI port out to connect to smart touch screens, I an getting the all with this options as the cost difference was only a couple of quid per unit.

I went through and renamed the active and inactive admission groups and now no longer have any bracketed numbers. Thanks Again.

We have always used admissions, but it in SIMS guidance it was advised to deactivate previous years apparently.

Our admissions manager has a query with some brackets in SIMS image attached and query, anyone shed any light "I need to know why after admission group it is showing the numbers in brackets once I have imported into pre-admissions" Many Thanks!

We use SCCM here at the moment, although we take a nice fat image and then deploy that across the whole school.
