I should just clarify that I wasnt trying to be funny, I really do think that on rememberance day all who fought for their country should be remembered, both allied and enemy

I rarely bother to explain anything these days, they usually ask what was wrong, and within 30 seconds of answering they are staring blankly or saying "well that means nothing to me" . Leaves me thinking well what did you expect, its obviously going to mean nothing to you, cause if you understood it you wouldnt of needed me to remedy it

Hehe..sadly nothing "fun". We get alot of "intruders" from other very very nearby schools. Kids in this city are somewhat violent to say the least and often decide its a good use of time to head into nearby schools and steal bikes, punch teachers, jump students etc. Sadly so far, as soon as they encounter us they leave, usually saying "oh yeah...yeah mate, look at you, think you're a hard man eh" at us Thats the usual, although we have also had some adults come onsite to try and steal either equipment, or students

After a visit from the Smartboard training guy during yesterdays INSET, the staff have now got running DvDs in windows media player (rather than seperate dvd software) on their mind. Thanks Mr Smartboard man Anyone know of any decent free codecs for WMP for dvd?

I'm using Vista at the moment on my gaming rig at home (gives me a 5.0 rating, 5.9 for graphics ), must admit the performance of my games is better than on xp. Though that could just be due to my xp being filled with a few years worth of crap before I switched to vista. However, I doubt we will roll it out at school for a while, certainly not immediately

I acutally use my mouse wheel button press to open new tabs. So I dont actually use the rightclick menu, I just wheelbutton click on the link for a new tab

From what I have read its not something we need, and from the reports we will encounter the 2 class/teacher issue which mark alluded to earlier in the thread. However if we must install it and suffer the problems mark mentioned then I guess we have little choice but to do so.

Thanks, we will continue to hold off on the october release then. Is there anyway we can get some kind of written official "advisory" to not install october and wait til november, as our local sims support team (portsmouth city council) are insisting via email that we install october.

Ah, hadnt tried OWA, but yeah, sharepoint and web based ASP pages are the kind of thing I was referring to. EDIT : mind you, having said that, OWA is working ok here at work on vista. Though I still have the same issues when browsing a site that uses asp. Think I will stick with firefox for now

Has anyone had any issues with IE7 when using/viewing ASP pages? I seem to be having some troubles with them when using vista, and am a little unsure whether its an ie7 problem, or a vista one

Anyone know if the shared groups issue is resolved now? We are getting pestering emails from our LEA that we havent installed the october update yet. We were holding off because we have classes with 2 teachers etc

I am with Norphy. I gave the demo a whirl and I see nothing new here, it really came across as nothing more than BF2 with a mod. Cant see how this should be a full price release, its more like an expansion to BF2 than a new game.

We use a logon script that checks the name of the PC in the room (say for example 101A), and then it installs the printers allocated to that room number. This way wherever a pupil logs in they get the relevant printers for that room. There have been a few threads similar to this on the forums, a few of the threads have example scripts, best to do a forum search and root them out

Yeah, we use Print Manager Plus too, it has its oddities, but overall its been more than adequate
