Our Lanschool is setup so that each teacher can only control/monitor their own class. The only people who have full access to every lanschool client is us techfolk. This way the teachers cant screw anything up

We have deepfreeze, the way we remove deepfreeze is to set the client machines to thawed mode and then uninstall deepfreeze. However, we do both the thaw mode setting and uninstall from the deepfreeze server. I am not sure if it can be uninstalled without the DF server putting the client into a thawed state, and I would assume that you dont have the DF server too

Not surprising, I circulate quite alot in the warez scene and the first hacks for Vista appeared quite a while ago. Hell, one of the guys in the particular warez areas that I look at works for Microsoft in California, (another one of the guys is actually a Dev for Blizzard on WoW hehe) If microsoft thinks they can stop the pirate versions, I fear they are greatly mistaken

I did download the solus2 on friday, but it refused to install on the FMS server, complaining that there was no SIMs install or SIMS SQL server present. Is there a newer version that fridays? (just checked, the one I downloaded on friday is 2.05, when I try and install that onto the FMS server the message I get is "The machine is currently not working as a SIMS workstation or a SIMS SQL server. Solus can only install on one or the other of the above." Then it exits out. I downloaded the zip above though, and thats worked perfectly

Yeah but thats in the SOLUS download, which we cant download on our FMS server, so I need a seperate download of 6.82.

Anyone know if there is a download of the 6.82 upgrade available? I hunted about on the capita site but couldnt see one. We used to get the updates on CD, but havent had one for a while now, our FMS is on a seperate server to our SIMS, so we cant update using SOLUS.

I've no idea who is actually supposed to be responsible for it, but we do all the ICT PAT testing ourselves.

Steep prices indeed, thankfully the vista I will be using at home wont cost me a penny, I really think that MS should revisit those prices

Ban all the bots I say !! Teach them all a lesson, I've been reading the forums of one of the most popular bots this week, its utterly hilarious. Last I checked there was a 52 page thread of people who had been banned. Some of the excuses and reasoning they were coming up with were comedy gold. Was amazing to see how they all thought they were doing nothing wrong, and how it was blizzard who were wrong for banning them and in some cases how blizzard had now "stolen" their subscription money hahaha

Hehe, yup crusader is one of the enchants that wont work on twinks anymore in the expansion

On the plus side, your twinks (assuming they have uber enchants on them) will be knackered when the expansion comes out anyway

Still reminds me of Sims Online...Go with WoW !! It may not be free but at least we can all go killing when we arent sitting around chatting !

But...why Second Life, its just a graphical version of ICQ or Sims Online, blah !! WoW is far better, and as well as being able to chat , you have the added bonus that everyone could go slap some monsters or other players too

Make one a gaming server so that all Edugeek members can play, perhaps even a private WoW server
