ahh this is the first time i've used SCCM. I've re-checked for compliance and no, no updates showing.

Yes, I've created a group with the updates in, deployed it to a client group, but when do a check for updates on the client, it doesnt pick up the updates even after forcing a wuault /reportnow it just says up to date once created deployment how long does it take for client to find updates? with standard WSUS console management, i can approve an update, do a force checkin and it'll find and download/install the updates immediately.

I have inherited a site which runs SCCM for Windows Updates. It seems very complex just to setup update deployments and testing updates on 1 machine, and doesnt seem to be working as expected. Can I remove the role entirely from the SCCM server, spin up another VM, and install/use WSUS as I do at other sites by creating a new GPO to point clients to the new server, let them check in, and them approve through the WSUS console, so i can then manage all sites from a single console. thanks.

We dont use any software integration which writes back attendance marks, only behaviour.

I checked today and the ISO was there, is that for both HEIC and HEVC ? I logged onto a machine today, opened a HEIC in the old Windows Image Viewer without any issues before evening installing the ISO..

Not just slow, we've had missing register marks happening for ages, once the teachers save them, the marks disappear when attendance tell them they haven't save their register. Capita told us it was impossible, submitted our data, told us its because the server was full!! Now they've updated the case to say other schools are reporting the same issue!

We got an allocated sent to us of Lenovo 100E devices just before christmas. We want to set them up for use in school on the network for students. I cannot get them to go into the BIOS or boot from USB - none of the F keys seem to work. Has anyone else had these model machines and found a way to get them to go into the bios or boot from USB? Thanks

I've always found 2019 to be more reliable installing updates than 2016, however they have pulled the Jan updates due to all the issues!

Depends on the other servers - SIMS is SQL heavy, if you have nothing else working as intense then you wont notice a performance issue with anything else. Check % disk usage on the host when everyone is active. We have SIMS at several schools, 2 on virtual servers, with the VM on RAID 10 array, one school has physical SIMS server. Physical one always finishes first even those the VMs have same RAM, underlying disk RAID level etc. Also check on latest supported SQL service pack and that BOOST SQL PRIORITY is NOT set.

Split the service - we have our leased line providing the connection but then we run Censornet USS for filtering. A gateway (linux VM) sits on site (2 for redundancy/load balacing) to do the AD authentication but all the policies/reporting etc is done in the cloud. Stable and reliable and instant online chat support and any issues they will remote on straight away. I moved away from inline filters as meant if the box crashed you lost your WAN connection getting to anything - important when a MAT so you can still access all sites if you lose internet.

Depends what you class as slow - how big is the SQL database and log files. What RAID is the VM Disks running on?

I am deploying ImageGlass as a global image viewer to incorporate new HEIC files etc. I have installed onto the computer, and set as default association. However when i run Dism /Online /Export-DefaultAppAssociations:"C:\AppAssociations.xml" the file extension is not showing in the file. However if i go into the windows default apps and view by extension it changes .heic files to be Imageglass. Therefore, when i deploy the software to machines and change the defaultapps.xml file to be It doesnt work!

Wouldn't it have to be setup in hybrid mode though as this is for receiving emails, not sending.

I use OSticket so only does IMAP or POP3 pull?

I have received notice that MS will be switching off basic authentication later this year and that there are a small number of users using the old protocols. However, I also have helpdesk systems etc that pull mail from a mailbox using pop3 and IMAP. If i enable modern authentication, but leave POP3 and IMAP enabled under the other procotols, will this mean that they will still get switched off later this year, or will they continue to work and just affect clients such as older versions on outlook? Just looking for clarification. thanks.

A cold power reboot fixed it all, so will just monitor it, to see if it happens again and then contact Draytek.

I have a Draytek 2685 at home, and this morning got alerts that's my remote access was 'down' however internet access is working fine. Router lights all showing and working as expected. However, - I cannot get into the routers' web UI via the IP address any more, although it responds to ping. Also cannot use the Smart VPN app on my phone on 4g to connect to the router anymore - just disconnects. Anyone else had this before? I know if i physically power cycle the router it'll come back online, but first time i've had this happen. Has something kicked in to prevent access? i.e Attack or login attempts locked it out? It is on the latest firmware.

Nothing wrong with exchange - things happen quicker than in the cloud when making changes. Been running on-site exchange since the days of exchange 2000, now running 2 server DAG setup. Highly reliable and can update/patch one server and users don't even know its being done as no knock on effect to OWA or outlook access. Guess one day i'll have to migrate but for now, keeping as is.

I am testing, and will probably deploy the MSI of 'ImageGlass' - seems to open all the HEIC files i've tested with so far.

Does it only affect cloud products and not local hardware?
