  1. as i said, i have the scania entry level (the 80k one) for me and the two drivers. has done a good job so far. so might stick with them then. also, how do you turn on/off the lights you can add to the bars? i thought they might have switched on with normal lights or is there another button to press?
  2. which truck do you recommend? if i'm buying another one for me, i want it to be one that lasts.
  3. i think as and when i get the garage it'll definitely be in germany and i'll probably relocate myself there as i enjoy the german/austria runs. if i get a chance tonight i'll do a couple more bigger runs (30k) to get the cash past 200k then get the garage and move myself there. then when it comes time to buy another truck i'll look at a better one for me, and my current one will go to the new driver. at the mo i have 3 entry level scania's, with mine having the engine/transmission upgraded a bit.
  4. so i'm assuming there comes a point like that when you can just drive without having to carry a load, just explore without money worries
  5. yes. the fact i have just over 100k in the bank yet owe just over 200, it'd be nice to pay a large chunk off rather than wait each day for 4k to come out. it'd be much more flexible than daily payments or all of it only
  6. well bank is 4k a day...i still have about 220 to pay off, and the two drivers i have now bring in about 5k a day on average so they are paying the bank in effect. once i can afford garage, truck and driver ill get them, as i can still do the very big jobs to boost cash if needed
  7. My drivers are finally starting to earn their keep. bringing in about 3k profit per job. so between the two of them, they are paying off my loan. i've got about 120k in the company at the mo, desperately wanting to get another garage but will need at least 220ish as its 144 for garage plus i need another truck then to hire a driver. love doing the german deliveries though....did 3 last night without dipping under 55mph at all, all motorways....then did one job to UK and it was bloody country lanes
  8. Keyboard too. basically the default keyset given as i haven't seen a need to change it. i do have an x360 controller but i feel the keys give that slight more accuracy at times (especially reversing). normal driving/racing games i'd have said controller
  9. I also had similar to my other one on a roundabout. Car came out despite me being on the island, went under the trailer and then politely put his hazards on. i couldn't move so ended up trying to rock the truck until the wheels touched the ground again, and shunted my way through the traffic build up. I get my own back though, when I see cars trying to overtake me on roads i move out slightly so they have to slow down, they end up stopping in oncoming traffic.
  10. I'll be honest, being docked £320 for this wasn't too bad. The recovery cost because I then couldn't drive off was annoying though Steam Community :: Screenshot :: no its fine, just fscking sit there!
  11. i can't afford that yet. i have about 60k in the bank, and 4k coming out each day for the loan. i'm making about 10k profit a day after all fuel/pay/servicing. and each garage is about 80k to start off with isn't it? is there a specific skill i should be levelling the other drivers up in to get higher paid jobs? most of the drivers on the agency page are 0.8 skill and have one or two skills in high/fragile/just in time
  12. well over the course of the weekend i paid off my initial loan (40k of 80k outstanding). so now just have the remainder of my 320k loan but that is manageable. other drivers are still being a bit hit and miss, some days bringing in 2k per job, some days bringing in £80 per job and other days making a loss. i think both drivers have level2 long distance and one has lv3 high value while the other has lv3 fragile cargo. would getting a central european garage help? at the mo its just me and the 2 drivers in sheffield. i've been looking at getting one in dortmund area to hopefully spread the jobs out a bit.
  13. staying slightly off topic, i have a popcornhour a110 which has local media but can also play any networked media. have a raspberry pi which handles the downloading of stuff to the popcornhour.
  14. Well i am still small and working up. I worked doing the quick jobs until I had about 30k then took out a loan for 80k to get my first truck (which i actually didn't use up until yesterday). i carried on doing quick jobs until i had about 70/80k in the bank and then wanted to look at setting up for myself, so got another loan which enabled me to get the small garage upgrade, two drivers and two more trucks. plus i dont know how realistic they intend to make it, so may as well get a loan now before they raise interest rates, cripple my business and i arrive back at the garage to find bailiffs there and end up having to torch the place to claim insurance
  15. I took out an initial 80k loan which took back just over a grand a day repayments. then took out the full whack 300k loan to set up and repayments are just over 6k a day. luckily the jobs i'm doing myself are pulling in 18k a day, added with the two drivers means i'm getting about 20k a day on jobs, 2k outlay on wages/fuel and 6k repayments. plus as i had some capital already, i still have about 100k of the 300k loan in the bank, so i'm financially safe at the moment (providing i dont drive too stupid). is there a way you can pay back the loan quicker or are you set to the daily repayments? or can i just take out a payday loan to cover the 300k
  16. I think me and a few of the boys need to be paying your garages a visit.....
  17. ah see I'm only level 8 and I think my drivers are about level 1 or 2
  18. I caved last night. Already had an 80k loan for my truck (paid off just under half). Took out a bigger loan, upgraded my garage in Sheffield to accommodate 3 people, hired 2 more drivers and bought 2 more trucks. Both of them are only bringing in about £2k per job but as long as I keep up the bigger jobs my loan is covered until they start getting better jobs themselves. So Goat Friskers (a subsidiary of Sweet Truck Haul) is now on the map. I'm looking to get a garage in Duisburg next as that seems to be the hub I've stopped at most, so for my jobs it'd make sense getting something there.
  19. pfft, noob
  20. to me it's not even that. it's sort of like how sandbox games just let you do things at your own pace. you can load GTA and just wander the streets if you wanted. thats how this is to me. i don't have to worry about tactics or stuff like that, i can just load the game, drive for 20 mins, quit the game and that's it.....it's quite relaxing in that sense (obviously not as much when you tip the trailer, but swings and badly cornered roundabouts)
  21. I'm looking at *hopefully* making the timetable part a lot more customisable so just about any configuration of weeks/days/periods should be allowed.....hopefully!
  22. I'm currently working through a list of the features I want/need to incorporate to V2 so if there are things you'd like to see in a booking system, feel free to let me know.
  23. I'm that anal about driving correctly in this that when the air-brakes failed last night, I put my hazards on. Shame the AI sat behind me for an hour patiently waiting for me to move Once I'm on open road though, driving correctly goes. I overtake and undertake where possible, usually shave about an hour off the ETA time
  24. Is this for Euro Truck or in the BMW drivers handbook?
  25. We just got the Vicar DVDs and have been watching them (even last night). An excellent deadpan comedic actor, great timing too
