  1. even though i own a truck i've been doing the quick jobs for a while, so if you're on a european job you get left hand regardless. at the moment i'm just enjoying the freedom of picking and choosing a job to do. once i've earned enough to pay off the loan for the initial truck i got i dont mind getting in to the garage more....but considering i bought a left hand drive truck and ended up causing 40% dmage to it within a few miles i'm not going back to it until i have a bit of cash!!
  2. I take it for those you are fined regardless? As in if i drive with no lights down the wrong way, will I be fined or does there have to be a camera/police see me doing it?
  3. I'm pretty sure I once got fined for not having lights on at night.....before I figured out the keys for correct lighting
  4. I think the last one I completed before the crash was Duisberg to somewhere in Austria. Was a nice run, managed 55mph all the way, but was at night so didn't see too much. Duisberg seems to be the main start/end point for a lot of my recent runs
  5. Started a Manchester to Calais run last night. 10 secs out of the pickup the air brakes had a fault so i had to sit and wait for the pressure to build back up for about an hour in game time in the middle of traffic......got 3/4 of the way there and the game bloody crashed. missed out on about £25k payout, didn't have the heart to go back in again!
  6. At least they haven't added Milton Keynes. Pulling 100 crates of dynamite through a billion and a half roundabouts.....I'd be tempted to just offload the cargo and light it!
  7. Hi Ben, V2, which will include the multi week system among other features, is currently in development, but fitting it around work is slow going at the moment. I'd love to be able to give you a timescale on when it would be released but unfortunately can't at the moment. Many thanks Mike
  8. Yep, used to go to the school I previously worked at. Him and his brother nicknamed the ASBO twins due to the amount of trouble they caused in and out of school. Speaks volumes with "19 year old student.....4 year old son" Also since then a local/national (can't remember which) game store has given him a free Xbox One, showing that stupidity does indeed pay off. Why bother not getting a teenage girl pregnant, learning how to read and not being thick when you can just cry to the press and wait for stuff like this to pay off.
  9. which mods do you recommend? i'm not bothered about truck decals etc at the moment, so things more like the physics, maps, weather, graphics would be good to try out.
  10. Ahhh Diane Abbott, so no doubt she'll link it to a good cause which "promotes black people and shows that racism is prevalent in Hackney and the white man is just trying to keep the black man down" Either that or Lennox Lewis had a sex-change
  11. At least you actually touched something. I stopped before touching him, so obviously the thought police are in effect around Duisberg instead. Although saying that the next run after that saw me get to about 20% damage due to a few high speed dismounts.......but no rolling the trailer, just coming off on the grass verge....after trying to overtake three other trucks..........
  12. got docked £430 for this "collision".....bloody foreign drivers and their dodgy insurance rules
  13. only if you don't pass them in time thankfully the oncoming AI is fairly pleasant. Have seen a car try to overtake me, get caught in incoming traffic which just stopped, then car indicated and joined behind me. So as long as you see oncoming in time and can brake you should be ok
  14. At approx 50mph you cover a mile in about a minute and a half I think. For a 450/500mile stretch it would take about 30mins or so from what I remember
  15. Easiest way is blitz it down every road regardless of limit then
  16. Yes...yes I know, I've been that passenger on multiple occasions.....
  17. More like "Would you like a lift, I'm heading that way".... One hour later, passenger dead at side of the road
  18. All I know is, if @Rawns gets this, do NOT play multiplayer with him. He's dangerous enough in small vehicles, giving him larger ones like this you may as well ask him to deliver an atomic bomb
  19. As I mentioned above, just be careful on overtaking at 60 on a winding road.....the trailers do seem to have this silly habit of throwing themselves out.
  20. Online it will be awesome. I've already done overtaking of cars at 60 on country roads and flashing full beams right up the ass of every driver. I just need the neon lights, some lowered suspension and a sub in the cab and I'll be the boyracer version of a trucker I do hope online lets you drive with trailers/cargo too. Will be great to just sneak up behind someone and nudge them
  21. you mean like taking a curved slip road at 60mph and "slightly" nudging a car out the way as the trailer topples over. Is that the sort of thing you're on about? I've got my own truck, but at the moment am still doing the quick jobs to build up cash (to pay off the loan for now). Getting about 5-7k per job with level 3 fragile cargo.
  22. I believe Milton Keynes are going to be trialling autonomous electric "pods" soon
  23. that all depends, it routed me to dual carriageways where i could drive at 70. so it could take me away from 60mph motorways to the 70mph dual carriageways close by and i'm travelling quicker.
  24. As an addition to this, I had to drive this exact stretch of M1 over the holidays to a wedding in Sheffield. SatNav took me on to the M1 then when I got near J28 it said it was calculating a new route and took me somewhere else to avoid the 50mph roadworks in effect there. Having a permanent 60mph limit there will mean a lot of SatNavs (if updated) will probably calculate a route up to J28 then take you through more built up areas where traffic could be a bit quieter. So potentially having an adverse effect on pollution and congestion
  25. Just as an update, the local (Derbyshire) radio said today the aims were to cut pollution AND ease congestion. So it will only be a matter of time until "to reduce traffic incidents" is tagged on too. I don't really mind if it's any of the above, but if you're going to announce "we're doing it to cut pollution" then tag others on, it smacks of "ah, pollution excuse isn't going down well, say congestion too.....and if that doesn't work tell them it'll cut down the number of paedophiles on the road....something will win them round" Also as someone else pointed out, for the most part of the proposed stretch, there aren't houses in the vicinity. I live closer to the M1 at J25 than most houses are at J28. So again, fair enough using the cut pollution cause, but that cleaner air is going to be mixing with far more polluted air before ever getting close to anyone!
