I would question the insurance company about the effectivness of the device and portal if the driving is not reflected by the black box. If it's inacurate on distance what happens if it adds 3000 miles all of a sudden over night. how fast did it think you did the 3000 miles! Rob

1) Have you read the article? Filtering as we all know is by no means simple, the further it is from you the more problematic it gets as you have less control. Say today your PHSE pupils need to access the edinburgh womens site and your on talk talk, your not getting there. 2) yes we still need our own filtering, the ISP's won't block facebook, youtube, proxy bypass sites, flash games, etc. Rob

I would remove all nic hardware including hidden/disabled ones in windows. Reboot and let it detect the hardware again. Set the IP and see if that helps. Had a similar issue on Citrix.

Personaly I don't think there is a long term furture for internet services provided by the counties, RBC's were a good idea 13 years ago but now they have competition. As more schools move to other provision the remaining cost can only rise untilll the service is pulled. Rob

Consider very carefully the implications of using a VPN to give direct access to the network from devices that you have no control over ( especialy in terms of AntiVirus ). Remote Desktop solutions are favourable.

Router has one interface 192.168.123.254 connected to building B switch via the fibre. And other interface 172.16.254.254 connected to building A switch You then have to specify 192.168.123.254 as the next hop for the 172 network and vice versa... That will need to be done on each client. Rob

You don't need vlans. You just need a router between the two networks, can sit in either building. Rob

You just need 1 router. (over and above the internet ones ) or just the internet ones if they can do other routing.
