Veyon Classroom Management - Cant Login With Interactive Logon Message
Fazza replied to Fazza's topic in Enterprise Software
I need to be able to log in to a whole computer suite at once but unfortunately as we use an 'Interactive Logon Message' with parts of our Acceptable Use Agreement in it that you must click on OK before the username and password boxes appear and this isnt a supported feature (or at least I cant get it to work with) Veyon. No central server is required and all you do is install it on a Client computer and un-tick the box that installs the Master program, whereas on the Teachers/Technicians computer you install the Master as well. It comes with a configuration program that you set up to work how you want it to work and then export/save it as a .json file which you can then reference in a silent install command when installing on to your computers going forward. One other thing I noticed is that when testing, it's best to use physical machines rather than a VM is for me, when I tried it in Hyper-V when trying to remotely control the client it didnt work, now I have a physical desktop it does. -

Veyon Classroom Management - Cant Login With Interactive Logon Message

Thanks for the reply! I don't seem to be able to find the authentication method setting in the Veyon Configurator or is this something I need to change/test in a settings file or something? -
We prevent rogue IT orders by asking the Finance not to process any orders for IT equipment without going through us first.

I'm taking a look at Veyon for the first time and we've hit our first stumbling block - we cant log on to any of our computers as we use an Interactive Logon Message that has part of our Acceptable Use Agreement on it that you have to press OK on before you get to enter your username and password. When trying to Log in using Veyon it doesn't seem to be aware of the Interactive Logon Message so when I try to log in no username or password is entered. In the past we've used solutions like Impero and NetSupport and they had no issue with the logon message that you must click on OK to before the username and password boxes pop up - is there a setting somewhere that I've missed in Veyon or will it not work in our environment?

That's unusual, we normally get a reply the same/next day so your email may be in their spam filter or something. -

The BETA is apparently being released during the week of February 14th - how do we get hold of this to test it out to see what happens, can anyone download it or do we have to be part of the BETA program or something?- 10 replies

Technical consultancy for Migration of SIMS Servers

We used ESS to do that and it was around £500 for the whole migration including tested etc. went very smoothly. -
How much do they cost as they look expensive?

northants-ecl.gov.uk email
Fazza replied to themanfromict's topic in East Midlands Broadband Consortium (EMBC)
It used to be Capita OpenHive that dealt with that sort of thing, not sure if Capita still do that side of things or if it went to ESS when they sold SIMS. -
They're terrible and a complete an utter waste of tax payers money they're not fit to prop open a door let alone Windows!

There are plenty of laptop models that were exclusive to the DfE available at CeX so your missing ones might be on there!

We're currently creating a Windows 11 Golden Image ready to be deployed via SCCM and it keeps on failing during the Image Capture Wizard with error code 0x00004005 After spending a lot of time investigating the issue (we have lots of software that needs to be installed hence a Golden Image rather than adding dozens of software titles to a task sequence) and have confirmed it is the local installation of Adobe Creative Cloud (Acrobat, After Effects, Animate, Audition, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere etc.) that is causing this issue as if we dont install this as part of the Golden Image we're trying to create it captures correctly with no errors. To prove this I have installed Windows 11 and only Adobe CC and then run the Image Capture Wizard and it fails pretty much straight away with error code 0x00004005 Any ideas what I can do to sort this out as it'd be easier (and more reliable) to have Adobe CC as part of the Image rather than a separate item on the task sequence?

Trying to add Windows 11 Education 22h2 as an Operating System Upgrade Package in Configuration Manager and I just get Generic failure which is not much use! I've reinstalled the latest ADK and WinPE in case that was causing the issue but still get the same error message. When I added Windows 11 Education 22h2 as an Operating System Image it works OK: Also, if I try and create a 'Golden Image' using the Capture Media ISO that also fails with a generic error so I think whatever is causing the Upgrade Package to fail could be linked?

I installed this update earlier and got and unhappy smiley and then it undid the update and I'm back to where I started!

We've been using Snipe-IT for years. It works on both Linux and Windows based servers (Linux is much, much faster but we use Windows as we're not Linux experts).

First issue sorted! After a reboot it automounted the LVM volume/partition/disk/whateverLinuxCallsIt so I can now get to the folders/files I need to make a copy of. All I need to do now is browse to the Windows Server I need to put the files on...

With or without a monitor as if you need a monitor that could be £100 off the cost of a desktop?
