Have to say I think 10 was pretty generous. How many orgs need that many for IT teams? I know FreshWorks are going through some flux at the moment, lots of renegotiating of prices trying to happen.

A long time ago I stole the wording of an email footer from someone on here that resonated with me and I have had good feedback about it from various colleagues. I'm thinking of making it a header so more prominent. It goes: "If this email is sent before 8:00am, after 5:00pm or at the weekend this is because it fits with my schedule. It does not imply any expectation that you respond outside your working hours."

From some things I have read, go into the extensions list of VSCode and disable extensions until it works. Some have said it is the PowerShell ISE, others have said it is the PowerShell extension. An extension is trying to use a version of Microsoft.Identity.Client that Exchange Online does not like.

I looked at it a while ago. One minus would be it isn't on the accredited for UK schools list from UK Safer Internet Centre. It will more than likely filter adequately, but it won't be geared towards education. Why not use it as a firewall and get a dedicated filter?

Sorry to sound bolshy but why is the school pandering to individuals? The class is a school resource, it is more efficient if all resources are set up the same. Therefore, they don't get a choice. I have delayed some installations because a member of staff doesn't want a board, but they don't get something else, theirs is just installed further down the line. EDIT: Ahh just read your later post that it is the head. Ask the head for a special exception for IT from a school specific thing and then act all shocked when the Head says no and ask if there is not special circumstances for people who don't want to do something...

As long as they are set to be changed next log in, not the best way, not the worst. In the past I used personnel data to create temp passwords that could be explained but didn't need to be sent, something like last part of their postcode and first 5 letters of their street. This did highlight the people who hadn't updated their address with the school or couldn't remember where they lived...

I'd question this. This isn't a question of BYOD, it is a question of RADIUS on personal devices. DPSK works perfectly well with BYOD.

Depends on your budget and features wanted. A proper digital signage screen sounds like it would fit the bill, most come with casting built-in now. I have been told NewLine are shipping non-interactive screens with all the features their interactive screens have from September at a ridiculous price, though not confirmed with a quote as of yet.

To make it simpler you can create an allowed countries list and just applied that as the exclude option.

psydii's second solution is how we have it. All VLANS and devices have the core switch as their gateway, the core has the Smoothwall as its gateway and Smoothwall then has the router as its gateway.

Are you wedded to HP? We started to get the Dell Monitor hubs, which are slightly cheaper than the HP docks and is a monitor, so save on the monitor costs. I think P2425HE is the current version of what we get. Speak to an account manager and it will be lower than the price on the Dell website.

Salamander should be able to do this with logic. I don't think Locker can do it, except for AllStaff. and maybe TeachingStaff. The alternative is to ensure your AD details are synced, and use Azure dynamic groups based off Job Title.

Is it just about training? Can you bring up the travesty that is CyberAlarm? Ask why they are allowing the Police to take lead on it and explain what a mess it is?

Would be a no from me. Not just because of the compromises but because whitelisting is just a lazy solution to the issue.

It can be done; I've done it a both the schools I've had it. I just put them in their own OU to allow me to allocate GP needed. The user is a kiosk user set up away from the regular users as well. It is? You are possibly the only person I have ever seen say that!

Is it on a specific IP range/subnet?

Could it be that because it is in the Auth Bypass it is having the lowest filtering applied due to being an unauthenticated IP and that may be filtered?

Just for people's information, depending on viewing resolution needed, I've found that LED screens are much cheaper than LCD screens. We were quoted just under half the cost for an LED setup that was bigger than than the LCD option. May not always be the case, and may not be suitable for every situation.

Being a bit dim here, surely you supply the Sharp client to Caterlink and they get it installed? Boils down to, the system was working, now it isn't, the change was (unless there is anything missing from the OP) the new laptop and it being locked down. So Caterlink need to sort it out. I'm not sure how this isn't an open and shut case. On what grounds are Caterlink blaming anyone else?

For future planning we are looking at the potential of NewLine display screens. Non-interactive panels that can be controlled by their MDM, so allow updates, pushing apps and power control. If it works as I think it will, it will mean no need for an external device as it runs Android. Potentially not available until September though.

Vacuum Wars does pretty in-depth and repeatable testing on all sorts of vacuums, including robot ones.

I have a EcoVacs one. Have no issues and is clever, not horrifically priced. Though not a demanding user. I had it linked to my assistant to set of 10 minutes after I had told it I was leaving and I would manually move it between upstairs and down every couple of weeks. Never had the self emptying one, never felt it necessary as never had a giant house that needed more than one sweep to fill. You can also swap in a mopping attachment and it seemed to do a good job, but I will confess to being cleaning challenged! All in all, one of my better buys and happy with it. It just disappears into the background. Don't expect to be able to get rid of your normal hoover as it will still be needed for somethings, especially if anyone is a stickler for clean. First few weeks you will be surprised how much is picked up.
