Redcare monitored alarm and BT Analog > Digital
Edu-IT replied to Koldov's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Redcare would usually have its own dedicated line, yes. Newer solutions are either dual radio (two SIM cards with two independent antenna) or single radio (one SIM card with one antenna) and IP so plugged into a data port. If you go IP, there will be specific ports to unblock for communication. Whichever option you choose you will want dual path. -
I believe there’s a big upgrade on the way too for this area of the system.

Krystal is my recommendation. -
My thinking is from the ONT which will likely be at one side of the building, use a CAT6 cable into the router / UTM which will be at the other. That is likely to be cheaper than having them find a way to get the ONT to the other side. Foresee any issues?
-
Can you tell me about the installation. Did they install the ONT at the closest point to the road, and it was your issue to cable internally to your data cabinet?
-
I presume that includes filtering / firewall etc?

Does anyone have a connection via CityFibre and if so, who are you purchasing it through?

With Paxton Net2, is a single fire alarm relay needed alongside the break glass units regardless of the number of doors? I have 2 doors within metres of each other. One door currently has Paxton running in standalone mode (Switch2). I am intending to have access control installed on the second door. Running both in standalone mode will require two alarm interfaces however I am now thinking if we were to use Paxton Net2 then a single alarm interface is all that will be required but I am not 100% sure. Can somebody running Paxton Net2 confirm?
