Still not happy with Hive in terms of how you have to manually link each user to the install, before they can print.
-
I’ll test on Monday.

We use them via a reseller for VOIP. Has been pretty rock solid. We have our broadband via them, support is fine, but it depends who is providing the connection as they're reliant or them.

Has anyone come across the issue whereby you can't add Guests to a Teams site, even though the various settings are on to enable guests to be added? It just comes up with 'We couldn't find any matches'.
-
Did you every get anywhere with this or did you give up?

Thank you. That's the part that I realised last night, each user has to install the agent, to get the authentication token within their UserData. Wasn't immediately clear. Just noticing if a computer is sat idle, it seems to lose the connection after a while. Do the copiers need to stay awake 24x7 as I think they go to sleep currently.

It looks as though all the required firewall rules are in place as it creates them during the installation.

Has anyone come across this error before? I think this is what is preventing clients from connecting to the printers. 2025/08/11 14:07:45 pc-queue-handler.exe: STDERR|ERROR: Deployment failed: execute deployment: print client not ready to print: send request: Get http://localhost:9265/status: dial tcp [::1]:9265: connectex: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. {"src":"deploy.go:152"

Figured. Firewall ports not correct.

Desktops have moved to Intune however nearly all devices have software that won’t install, saying waiting for install status. The software does work as sporadically it has installed on some devices. IME logs don’t really indicate anything useful. Has anyone seen this before?
-
I was also thinking from the O/S and Intune point of view as the above article seems to just reference Microsoft Office Apps?
-
Thank you. Do you happen to know the specific name of the device licence, as it shows in the portal, so I can make sure I am asking for the right thing.

Is anyone in a position to demystify Microsoft licencing. Teacher Desktops & Laptops - All Teachers have Microsoft A3 licences assigned. That should be sufficient for their own desktops and laptops? What is needed for shared devices, such as a computer suite, which is primarily used by Pupils but other staff (LSA's) may occasionally login? Intune P1? Pupils have Microsoft 365 A3 for Students use assignede. I've looked through the service descriptions but find it very confusing to identify.

We've moved over to PaperCut Hive which is now complaining about SNMP on two of our devices, which worked fine with PaperCut MF. Can somebody who has SNMP monitoring working on their Konica printer please share a screenshot of the configuration page from the Konica device so I can try and spot any differences?

Can anyone recommend any software that will show when files and folders were last accessed on a share? With a view to working out what may be able to be removed as it hasn’t been accessed in years.

Is anyone else finding that the Office 365 Search in Outlook is either slow or not working at all?
-
Also does this not download all files locally, permanently (or at least for 30 days) whereas a product like CDM doesn't? If files are downloading locally then it'll be taking space on like devices and more frequently sychronising?

Backup Internet Connection
Edu-IT replied to JonnyAlpha's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Some of the cost will be for the service level agreement - how quick things are resolved when there's a problem. -
Thank you. What I am trying to be clear on is that there's no other reliable to way to map OneDrive/Sharepoint as network drives without the use of CDM. Which I think is what you're all saying?
-
I don't have any issues with night mode which I know doesn't help with the issue you're having, but as you asked, I figured I'd just let you know it can/does work.
-
If you don't use a product like CDM, is there an alternative way to map drives, without having to download / sync every file, or is it clunky?
-
No, it's for the ParentPay MISSync tool.
