Afternoon all. Quick question if I may. Our schools have been using the MISSync tool to sync between ParentPay & SIMS for the last couple of years, but the way it has been set up seems a bit backward to me. None of the schools admin staff have the MISSync installed, instaed one of the IT Team decided it was best to install the tool on a server, and then not to let any of the school staff access it, insted, they have to log a call, and get a tech do it for them. To me, this is just a complete over reaction, or even an ego boost, why shouldn't the end user be capable of doing this? What happens when they log a call? Well, depending on how busy the main tech team are, it can be a couple of days before the sync is run. So my question is, do you let the schools admin staff manage their own sync's? If so, how many problems do you get with this? Obviously none of our school staff will have seen MISSync, so is it intuative for them? I just want to see the end user be able to run a sync when they need to, and not be beholdant on a tech team that doesn't need to be involved. I look forward to hearing your opinions. Thanks, Karl

(FMS is part of SIMS) Seems that our Finance team have been told that they must prepare to move to a cloud platform for FMS.. Our Finance didn't ask for this it was just told to them in an email. FMS6 will be restricted after 6th next month.. What ever that means. Then instructions on how we prepare our data to be uploaded to their cloud service. So now I'm immediately hostile to this process. I don't like strong arm tactics. It seems I was also unaware that "parentpay" purchased SIMS. I'm now writing a snooty email to the migration team about these demands.. Who will have access our cloud data? Is it encrypted? (not just the transport) Where is it stored, who will guarantee data integrity, backups and service up time? How will we be compensated when you lose control of the data in a possible data breach? Miffed in Dorset... EDIT: Seems alot of this was decided by DCC, so now to SAFSO...

A school reported on Monday that the upload client wasn't working and after restarting the server on Monday evening it still wasn't working. Usually stopping and restarting the service fixes this. I phoned ParentPay and they said it is a problem at their end and it is being urgently looked into. I've checked with them again this morning but they said it is still down. Nothing on their website, nothing when you log into your school's profile. Twitter feed is a few months out of date.

Welcome to 2024! I notice parentpay has changed some stuff when logged on (as admin) to their website. First annoyance - in upload history (People>History>Upload History, then there are tabs) which I like to look at it now says Uploaded by: (G5W4rTN6uxGmxyNTTTU1ekUg9) which is obviously crap. Anyone know how I can find out the name (it used to say the users name eg Joe Bloggs)? Wonder what other horrors await. Secondly unrelated to the changes but anyway - I use windows task scheduler to run MISSync each morning (eg every day at 7am) which syncs with sims and uploads new pupils. In the upload history it only used to have an upload in the history if it actually made an upload ie if there were changes (new pupils / leavers). Now however it has an upload every single day even if there have been no changes. Why is this?

Hello, We are going to be moving from Parentpay to Arborpay shortly and would like some advice on how to transfer meal balances. Is there a quick way of transferring this information or do we have to refund every student individually on ParentPay? Any advice gratefully received. Thank you.

I am fed up using MISSync programme to manually update parentpay every few days. We use WONDE for mathswatch etc. Can WONDE do anything to sync parentpay each day so it refreshes pupils automatically?

Hi. I'm confused. I have changed a parent's email in SIMS, and set it as Main and Primary (are these 2 'flags' required for parentpay by the way? I seem to remember one of them is). I have done an MISSync. But since I want to check if the new email was used I would like to see the report that MISSync uses. But here's my confusion - if I run the manual report (in sims) Reports>Design Reports>Focus>student 'ParentPay2018' (or the 2015 or 2020 versions) it does not have an email field as one of the Data fields. So in other words it wouldn't upload the email. But how can that be? I know MISSync goes into sims directly, so I assume it does pull out an email address when it is run. So am I right that I cannot see the email that is picked up and used by parentpay? Also, related question - once the parent has used (a different) email and verified it / used it etc will me changing their email in sims change the one that is recorded in Parentpay or does it ignore it? Ie once they've used it they are stuck with it unless they manually change it themselves while logged onto Parentpay?

As the title states really, the ESS portal is useless. We have contacted the contact us link and not had a reply in over 7 days. The only information is for the next 12 months of SLA for FMS and nothing on the steps to take for cancelling / giving notice etc. Anyone navigated this recently? Anyone have any advice or contacts at ESS / ParentPay Group to take this up? Thanks in advance.

Using cr£ppy parentpay - we normally create letters as pdf for new students. This generates the letters all as one long pdf each child a separate page within the pdf. The page has the parent carer details and student name at the top and half way down has the Username and Password. Question: Can I get a report or excel file etc out of parentpay with this info? Reason being I want to email it to parents rather than post a huge number of actual printed pages home.

Ok following my previous success (eventually!) (see here http://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-systems/221777-can-wonde-sync-parentpay-if-not-what-can.html )of getting parentpay to sync automatically everyday using windows task scheduler - next wish would be to create the letters or email login details to the parent automatically. Is that possible from within parentpay? If so how? At the moment we have to manually log onto parentpay and do a very weird method to produce a set of pdf letters, which then we download and stick in a shared folder, so the Year team can extract the new students 'letter' and give to them for their parents. What a massive ****ache. (on parentpay we have to click on Communication>Email & SMS> open a recent template name, click click click through to eventually 'send message' even though it doesn't send a message it creates a pdf (of course! WTF?) which we can then download. So, in short, how can I email new accounts automatically by the magic of parentpay website?

(was previously working). Hi anyone got any thoughts - MISSync not connecting to sims. On launch does log in to Parentpay website fine. In tools>settings>SIMS tab I've reentered the MIS username, server name etc and is all correct. We have MISSync on a colleagues machine same details still works ok on his machine. Checked / copied info from the working config file to this config file located in C:\Users\REDACTED\AppData\Local\ParentPay\MISSync and no difference. So in short I believe all the login info etc is correct. In the log the error occurs as below. Any ideas?
