Thanks everyone for your support and comments. Quick update. LA are still refusing to share password. When I suggested we needed it for our own back ups and to meet the DfE's cyber security guidance they still wouldn't budge and suggested we have a three-way conversation with ESS (but I know how that conversation would go!) Good news is we have managed to get the info we need due to our great tech guys who created a server restore point, changed the SA password, completed the download, then restored the server to its original state.

The council's legal team won't advise us because they are advising their own team and it would be a conflict of interest. You really couldn't make this stuff up!

I'd rather not share the LA team. They're a great team, and we get excellent support. However, they are understandably worried about losing their approved status with ESS. It seems as though ESS are being a bit of a bully and threatening support teams' commercial viability if they support schools to migrate using the tried and tested method which has been employed for decades.

Problem moving from SIMS to ARBOR Hello everyone. We are migrating to Arbor but our local SIMS support team are refusing to give us the admin password in order to download a back up to give to Arbor. Has anyone else experienced this and, how easy or difficult was an alternative method? The LA's support team are citing ESS's recent statement (https://shorturl.at/uAHI2) and are worried about their commercial relationship with ESS. Understandable but leaves us in a very difficult position. Do other schools have access to their SIMS high-level system admin password? Does anyone have any experience or insight to share? Hello all. I'm in a primary school - we are having some eggs delivered this week for a 'hatching' project. When I last did this, I set up a webcam so that the parents and children could see any hatching action when school was closed. When I did this last, we had access to Adobe Breeze through our LA and we set up a room - this enabled us to invite the parents and also to record any moments where eggs were hatching. Is there anything similar - and free to use - available now? I realise that we could broadcast live on facebook, youtube etc but this doesn't seem quite so go or quite so safe. I'm a headteacher, rather than a computing expert so I am not very techie. Thanks in advance.
