Prevent Damage to IT Equipment in Classrooms/Suites
hardtailstar replied to Archipelego1's topic in How do you do....it?
We have this issue a lot. One room constantly gets damaged/bits stolen. Two teachers out of the 10 (including SLT) that are in there report the damage. Countless times I've emailed all the teachers to report damage as soon as they know about it. Yet nothing gets done unless we have proof it was one of the oiks but even then nothing much comes of it. -
I thought they were replicating it just the same. Both shows are very similar in my opinion.

I dont think they will be able to replicate the trio of Clarkson, Hammond and May Not looking forward to Paddy and Freddy in the next series!

Have a look at youtube videos of other people doing it their house for ideas. Sometimes they have great ideas!

Student sign in/out book
hardtailstar replied to enjay's topic in Data Protection & Information Handling
We just have a book where they sign their name with date and time. They have to give reasons to the attendance/6th form pastoral team who then record it in SIMS. So all the other students and staff see is the name, date and time. -
FIX!!! haha! Congrats @jmak

Follow education companies on Twitter as they post up relevant stuff with links etc. Also subscribe to newsletters from places. These will be more up to date than magazines. Also as @elsiegee40 says that there is quite often threads on here by @Arthur and other users.

Just to add my point back in, we are using Office 2016 64 Bit and have had no issues reported. We have been running 64 Bit Enterprise and Office since last May time. But we have had an issue with SIMS printing since moving to 64Bit Windows but reinstalling an up to date driver seems to have cured that. Now I fully expect all the issues to start happening as I have now said this.....

no issue here yet and all our staff are on 64bit Office.

I'd say PS4 too. The navigation will be easy too. Just searching for stuff might be a bit of a pain.

So many questions! Like how do the other teachers feel?, has the techs had a say if there is any?, Why didn't they mount the speaker?... I could go on...

So as its near 2019 I'd thought i'd see if anyone is setting themselves challenges for 2019? So for 2018 I challenged myself to: 1 - Not drink fizzy drinks for the year 2 - Raise money for charity So far I have raised almost £1000 for different charities. I know its not as much as i'd like but happy with the amount I have done. Also im days away from not having a fizzy drink all year. So who completed challenges this year and what have you got planned for next year?

We have some 7 year old laptops we repair as they still run good. Repairing them will give them another life.
