I would advise against recommending laptops for home use, If someone buys one you recommend then it goes belly up within a month it'll fall on you. Recommend specs like 160GB SSD 8GB Ram Win 10 i5 or newer.

Keep it Real Online sounds like they want real sex to be posted online and none of that fake stuff!

I use my phone for everything photos, clock, social media, emails, games, shopping, calendar, reminders etc. I do have a Dell XPS at home too but I am normally out quite a bit, well I was before lockdown. I only have texts, calls and reminders as audible notifications. The rest can wait until I look at my phone.

Ours is an email and it goes to our Spiceworks help desk. Staff, students and parents email the same email. When I reply via the help desk to a student/parent I always try to include form tutor or teacher depending on request. Everything is then in the help desk and staff copied in. If they reply to me direct then I forward it to the helpdesk and change the email from mine to theirs. Everything is then recorded.

I've been running four times a week and doing body weight exercises each day. Lost half a stone in last two months!

I have a sat nav in my car and on my phone. I also keep a road map and local OS map in my car. Quite often im in the countryside with no signal so use those maps. Although I tend to use the OS map more than the road atlas.

I will be in my office all day when I go in. Any classroom issues will be dealt with remotely or at break/lunch/after school. I will be wearing gloves whilst wiping down laptops or if I cannot wash my hands between jobs I will take a pair of extra gloves.

Coronavirus: General discussion (see opening post for rules)
hardtailstar replied to Dos_Box's topic in General Chat
Same. Got told yesterday. Nothing about precautions or who's going to be in. Just we have to work from 1st June on site. -
I used to contract at a few schools before getting employed by another. You have a business to look after and to pay yourself and any employees if you have them. You are still providing support to them even though its from home/office. Its not your fault that you are in this situation. No matter how good your relationship is with the schools it will be tough to discuss the money side. My opinion is to carry on charging them the same. At my school im not going in on the 1st June as we are not starting back then

Can Google meet be used for troubleshooting?
hardtailstar replied to saggu's topic in Cloud Services
If they cant install stuff like we have set up, They wont be able to do any of that. -
If they play the game right they would be starting that in September;) We had some due to go on maternity/paternity soon. So it will be interesting how that plays out.

The school buildings are rented out by the PFI company too so if it is a fixed cost I doubt its going to be for 100% use.
-
I think money saved is minimal. We are into the second month, Our budget and spending for departments should have opened up at the beginning of May. We are a PFI school and I belive we pay a fixed cost a month for gas/electric/water and I doubt the company will have stopped that. I could be wrong.

I am so excited for it!

Im working from home too, I still live with my parents so the only time I go out is for runs. I go 4-5 times a week too but going to make the distance bigger so I can run in a loop where people wont be. I live in the middle of a town so all my runs have been 10km or less on footpaths around the town. Now that its unlimited and more than the suggested hour, I will be going one direction where humans never really go but its further than 10km away. -

The only thing I am changing is going running for longer. There's no way I am going to go out to parks just for a sit down or drive to the beach to sunbathe. When I can potentially still catch it!
