  1. That is excellent, thank you so much for that Calwyn
  2. Hi Everyone. We have just gone live with BromCom today and I am trying to configure permissions for all our staff before the kids come in tomorrow. Most things seem to have a role available but there is nothing for SENCO... which surprised me slightly. Support said they don't have any guidance beyond the how to make your own roles. Can anyone here tell me what roles they have assigned to their SENCO as a starting point? Thanks.
  3. Generally, I would pick Staff groups from the list in the HAP+ configuration Active Directory Page.
  4. All working now, it seems that HAP doesn't like WEBDav... I have removed that from IIS for HAP (Both the module & The handler) and now everything works as it should.
  5. Hi Everyone. When I enter a new static booking, I am getting the error "The Given Key was not Present in the Dictionary". Searching the forums, I have found this mentioned in relation to "MyFiles", but not the Booking system. There was also a reference to "Updating the Language Files", but I couldn't find any reference to what the "Language Files" are and where to get updated versions. Can anyone shed any light in this? Also, my staff can create bookings with no problem, but are unable to remove their booking if it is wrong. Thanks in advance, Calwyn.
  6. These bits are now resolved. Thanks for the assistance.
  7. Thanks for this, I think this may be the issue.
  8. Thanks, That's most useful.
  9. Whilst I am happy that people are so concerned, the SLT want it, it is what we have and we will be using it. I would much rather have some help with resolving the technical issue that I am having with HAP+ rather than just telling me not to use it. Any way. I have managed to resolve the first part of the problem, with the home page refreshing. I now just need to know why drives are not mapping.
  10. Cost is unfortunately a major factor when the budget is literally ZERO, and I have yet to see another free system which can allow our users to access their user-area via the internet, especially as all of our systems are on-premise What I'd really like to do is give them Citrix or similar, but we just have no money.
  11. With the absence of adequate funding to buy a proper solution, we have little choice... Although if I can't get it working then it could all be academic anyway.
  12. Hi Everyone. I have just installed a new instance of HAP+ onto a new 2019 Server, but when I log into the site, the home screen just keeps refreshing. Has anyone else had this, or can anyone shed some light on this. If I change the URL to HAP/MyFiles or Hap/Bookings then the pages display correctly, but not the homepage. Also, I am having a problem with drive mappings. The mappings all work in a file-explorer window, but not in the browser. I am a complete novice when it comes to server 2019 having just updated from 2008 boxes, so there are many holes in my understanding of new things (like DFS Namespace).
  13. Hi Yes, I'm running on an RM network
  14. Right... Having had a play with this yesterday, I compared the users policies of those who this report works for and those that it doesn't. One thing that stood out between the two was that Macros were restricted on the users that didn't work. I changed this and now the report seems to work. Calwyn
  15. Hi everyone. Just wondering is anyone ever found a solution to this issue. I am experiencing it with certain users, but not others... unfortunately the one person who really needs to be able to run this report is effected.
  16. Thanks for that, I've sent a quote request and I'll let you all know how they compare.
  17. Lol ICTDirect Dave... The "OLD" kit that I need cover for are 5 year old Hp ProLiant Gen-8s Calwyn
  18. Hi everyone. We are in the situation where our servers are now out of warranty, we were intending to decommission them this summer hols, but now we want to keep running them for another year. Can anyone recommend any third party hardware support companies who would be able to provide next day support for less than the Manufacturers are wanting. It's only a small network, so many of the companies may not be interested. Thanks, Calwyn

    Budget CCTV

I have over the last three years installed several (six I think) of these budget packages https://www.amazon.co.uk/SANNCE-Professional-Weatherproof-Surveillance-Smartphone/dp/B074TF2F1K/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=sannce+8+cctv+camera&qid=1559902451&s=gateway&sr=8-9 They are really cheap but the picture quality is decent, and I've not yet had any failures yet. The oldest kit will be three years old. All of the cameras are cabled using cat5 & baluns so there is no network load added, but the DVR's claim to accept IP cameras too. They also can be managed via the network so you can view the video (Live or recorded) remotely. Calwyn
  20. They didn't capture any data at all, their analysis of our network involved a ping test and a 200mb file download. The benefits of them configuring VLans on our network would be that they get paid for the job.
  21. I don't disagree at all, but as we all know, schools will always take the cheapest possible option in almost every situation.
  22. With the exception of the WIFI, we have no other services going through the network, and the WIFI is only working to connect our laptops to the network.
  23. Hi Guys, thanks for all the responses. Just to clarify, the 8 core fibre is the second preterm'd fibre that was pulled in, after there were no working fibres in the first attempt. The reason is "Electricians". Rather than being pulled in by a data cabler, the fibre was pulled in by an electrician. They weren't happy at having to buy a new one (£400 at the time) after breaking the first one.
  24. The switches are Cisco SG-500's they apparently can be switched into "Layer 3 mode", but I haven't explored this yet. The site is basically a largish single building, there are three floors but the top floor is tiny and the first floor is only on half of the site... the other half is ground floor only. Calwyn
  25. This is true, but that would require extra hardware at the ends. With the current configuration there is no 10Gb hardware.
