  4. I thought about pledging for that especially as I have a 3d printer so could customise it but I didn't as it's low energy Bluetooth although I do have an ipad mini that would fly it I guess would be good for the kids. Ben
  5. My homelab revolves around beer and diy stuff coming from the mancave. I do not have any equipment for testing it related stuff at home it's enough to have it work for me. Ben
  6. That's a maybe but in a lot of school environments it's a compromise between the money and resources available and what the local tech guys can deliver we'd all like to do things by the book but have to go McGuyver and cowboy every now and then so please temper your replies slightly. Thanks Ben

  13. We used to have a single door out from reception and it had a SALTO battery handle on it they are fine for exit as the standard handles always allow egress. SALTO on-line doors with mag locks are a similar price to the other systems i.e Paxton but the battery handle solution is much cheaper than any others I've seen. You don't have to purchase SALTO cards if you have your own SAM kit as you can SAM blank mifare cards yourself but you would only do that if you had thousands and thousands of users as it is expensive. 19. I've built 2 Mendels and am very pleased with both I've run one of them for a 48 hour print and had no problems with the machine and have printed almost daily for several hours a day for the last 8 months. Ben
  20. We bought the kit from RepRapPro about £500 has everything you need or a Mendel 90 kit from Nophead is about the same price. I'm building a 2nd RepRapPro mendel in the man cave at the moment for home use and also have a Tantillus cube style printer under way as well but the quad has taken over at the moment. Ta Ben
  21. I have a RepRapPro original Tri Colour mendel. Mono Mendel - RepRapPro this is the current one basically or the 3 colour ready to go which is the same as this but with a couple of extra extruders and hot ends. I'm also slightly changing the way I'm wiring all my connections up to my arduino made it a bit more difficult for myself choosing a full on mega 2560 board rather than a flight controller ready to go but hey where's the fun in easy. Ben
