  1. No, no other DHCP servers. The static assignment was for a printer that was offline for a long time over the summer. Someone plugged in a laptop to a data port on a VOIP and somehow that device grabbed the static IP of the printer. I traced everything back manually today and finally found the device. I have it all sorted now, I just couldn't find a way to disassociate the device in the Smoothwall to bump it off so it would reacquire a new IP.
  2. I have a printer that is statically assigned in DHCP. The printer was offline for the summer and it seems another device that is set to auto grabbed the printers address. I'm trying to boot off this other device if I can but I do not recognize the name to easily unplug it. Is there a way in Smoothwall to boot it off DHCP?
  3. Yes I know DS is outdated but our Macs are pre-2013 so DS still works fine for what I need. However, I have started to move towards thin images. I'm trying to setup a workflow in which the last step needs to have a hidden file copied to the destination Mac in a specific folder. I got an error in DS that the file was invalid, and I'm thinking it's because it is hidden. Is that correct? If so, how can I copy this file either during restoration or via our MDM once the profile is installed.
  4. Just an update, there should be an official announcement this week about DBA. It is an entirely new process.
  5. Update on my end. Our licenses went through yesterday.
  6. From what I'm told I should be "verified" by Monday and able to add the licenses.
  7. Funny enough, that's who is helping me as well.
  8. That is true, the resellers have no way of adding that license. Basically you need to have your institution verified by MS as an "educational" institution. After that, you're able to add the licenses yourself.
  9. I finally got help from a sales consultant. Hoping the validation process goes quickly, and I can get back to it on Monday.
  10. I know this an older thread but I'm going through this exact process now. It's been almost 10 days since I started the support process. My vendors have been pretty supportive about trying to help me but unfortunately they don't have the ability to add the licenses so I've been going back and forth with MS Support. For those that might be interested this is the error you'll see IF you try DBA. Just for reference, we have A3 licensing.
  11. I saw VLC can do it but not sure about setting the timed snapshots part. I'm trying to save on bandwidth.
  12. We are having a renovation project on our school done over the summer. I have a spare Logitech C920 that I'd like to use for this. Is it possible to embed snapshots taken every few minutes (not live video) on our website?
  13. I'm trying this on the same setup. I have Surface 3s on Windows 10 Pro 1703. I have a GPO set for the Start Menu Layout but it is not applying on wifi. It always applies if I plugin a USB-Ethernet adapter and hardwire it. I did not have hardened UNC paths set but I do now, no change.
  14. Setting the UNC hardened path had no effect either.
  15. It shows that the GPO was applied over wifi. Well I need to either fix this today or use a logon script to manually copy it over. I have the custom Start Menu working on an OSD setup but these devices aren't ready to be imaged yet. So for now what's the best way to just copy it manually? Just a straight batch file?
  16. Have that set already.
  17. I am somewhat new to GPO management. I am working on a set of 15 Surface 3s that I need to get to students. I am having an issue getting the custom start menu layout to work via GPO on wireless. It works fine on a wired connection but never on wifi. According to RSOP it is enabled and showing. I'm trying to set these up as fast as possible for a project they're working on. I have it set so only Minecraft: EE and OneNote are shown. On a hard wire connection: Wireless:
  18. I don't want to waste one of my support calls on this but it looks like I might have to.
  19. No I have not. I can start Periscope but once I try to start a broadcast it never loads.
  20. Just bumping this to see if anyone has been successful with this?
  21. Anyone have some suggestions?
  22. Working with MDT for the first time. I'm working on my first image using MDT 8443. I was working off this guide: Deployment Research > Research When capturing the image using hyper-v, I'm getting the following errors. Edit: I ran it again and now I'm getting an error that states "The password for this computer is not found in the local security database."
  23. I've come across this many times since we've switched over to Smoothwall. The problem is that even though you've allowed the MyMaths site, the flash object is pulling content from a different site or host which IS blocked. I usually have to look at the site code to see where it is coming from then allow that. It's a pain.
  24. Has anyone been able to successfully unblock Periscope? I have allowed the site but cannot broadcast. If I flip over to cellular while trying to broadcast it goes right through, so it's' definitely being blocked. Under the web filter reports (for my IP) nothing shows up as being blocked. I'm always stuck at the initializing video stream...
  25. Got it. It was a driver issue. Changed it to HP Universal PS and it works fine now. The printer still does not show up under devices for the local administrator account though.
