  1. Group Policy was unable to add per computer connection \\DC1\Library_HP_M401. Error code 0x6ba. This can occur if the name of the printer connection is incorrect, or if the print spooler cannot contact the print server. This is not happening on another machine in the same OU.
  2. Changing the name had no effect.
  3. I can yes, but the other printers have spaces without issues.
  4. Having an issue adding a printer via GPO. I've deployed this printer the same way I've done all ours and this will not show on the client. Using gpresult the printer does show up via GPO but does not show under devices. This is the process I always use: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc731292%28v=ws.11%29.aspx Looking at event viewer I get this error: Group Policy was unable to add per computer connection \\DC\Library HP M401. Error code 0x52e. This can occur if the name of the printer connection is incorrect, or if the print spooler cannot contact the print server. Any suggestions?
  5. Looks like if you have a folder with subfolders, the GPO option won't work. Everything I'm reading says run a script to copy the folder. https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/477478-copy-a-folder-to-user-s-desktop-via-group-policy I could never get the script to run but something I just came across says the COMPUTER must have read access to the file. How can I check that?
  6. Probably because I'm somewhat new to GP and didn't know about that. I only want the folder copied on 4 machines, and I do not need to have it copied on each login. The script I have now looks for a file and if that file is there nothing is done. If the file changes, then it'll copy it again. This helps when there is an update.
  7. I've tried this both locally and via GPO and am having no luck. I have a folder sitting in c:\users\public that I want copied to each AD user's c:\users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\LOCAL\ folder on login. The script works fine if I browse to the location and manually run it. I cannot however, get it to auto run on login. GPO setting: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5WwyYQ7JxrsclhsTkg2THFiRUE The user definitely has privileges to the file, I am able to browse to the network share and run it manually.
  8. Don't ask why, but I did yet another gpupdate this morning (probably the 5th) and it's now working.
  9. Enabled it and it had no effect.
  10. I changed my settings to match yours exactly, and I'm still seeing the local desktop and the redirected one.
  11. No those are empty for students.
  12. Sorry which profile am I checking for students? The minecraft.bat file is in the root of this directory.
  13. Here is the folder:
  14. Nothing in Event Viewer to show that it wasn't processed. This is from the Client: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5WwyYQ7JxrsQjdVam5fb2dLREk/view?usp=sharing
  15. OK I was able to get it working using loopback processing. However, I now have both the local desktop AND the redirected shortcuts appearing.
  16. Sorry about that, getting my threads mixed up. I do have a folder setup with shortcuts in it, however logging in as a student there is no redirect that takes place. I still get the standard local desktop.
  17. I posted screenshots earlier in the thread with my GPO settings and also the .bat file settings. Essentially each time a student logs in, the bat file will run and check if a file is present in a specified directory. If the file is missing or altered (upgrade) then the folder will be copied to their local profile.
  18. No errors, the bat file just doesn't run. Nothing in eventviewer either.
  19. Would appreciate any suggestions on this issue.
  20. I originally had student security groups by grade. I made a new one for this that has ALL students. I added that group with read only permissions. See screenshot.
  21. It does, I was able to browse to it via the student profile. So they do have access. Just does not seem to be applying even after a gpupdate.
  22. Am I doing something wrong here?
  23. Did you just change the attributes using command prompt? I'm guessing I can just do attrib +R *.* (all files in the folder are for the redirect).
  24. So just change the attributes to read-only?
  25. Good point.
