At my last school we had badgers living under the mobile block they had a habit of eating the network cables under the floors even through the steel channels. The teachers did seem less annoyed tho when we told them it wasn't the rats.:-)

Not if your planning on using the VESA mountings to mount it to the wall, the braket is ment to fit it to the back of the monitor when the monitor is on the stand on a desk I have used quite a few of these they are really nice but ended up screwing them to the wall behind the monitor.

spoolsv.exe high cpu, network printer problems
alextreadwell replied to adamf's topic in Windows Server 2000/2003
are you using Microsoft office 2007/2010 with windows 2003 server? we had a issue with print spooler crashing, it turned out to be because said office programs try to use RPC printing protocol and server 2003 doesn't support it, it took ages to find as the pop up error message was suppressed by our RM system only found it when It popped up on my machine we used the following reg key to fix it might be worth a try? Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Printers] "EnabledProtocols"=dword:00000006 -
I would quite happly not spend the money but the childrens centre have asked me to come up with idea's on how it could be spent and I don't like to dissapoint! I had allready sugested Ipad, RM slate, They wil spend the money regardless so I thought it might be nice just to spend it on something with a bit of inovation because the way funding is they won't be getting anything new for the next few years
-
The money will be lost if we don't spend it and it has to be spent on the childrens center, I could use it for a thousand other nice thing else where in the school, the childrens centre already has loads of new computers and laptops whiteboards and projectors I know it would be Great to spend it when I need it but unfortuatly I can't so hench the question

microlib are chasing me at the minute to renew the help desk and every time they phone the cost comes down so I am waiting for an acceptable price so asking for a discount may be a good idea they wanted £270 to renew this year they are down to £200 but I would like the bit that updates users from sims as well so waiting for them to ring again I'll let you know what they come up with.

there is a newer driver than that one version 5.5 from their website seems to work better with serial boards, you get the option of installing serial drivers as well as USB worth a try I would scrap the becta box there just a pain in the bum!
-
I would try 7 on them first I installed 7 on a dell gx270 2.8GHz with only 512mb in and it flies windows 7 on, it seems to cut back on graphics performance when you have less ram and they run great much better than XP SP3 with a gig in, if you can get the ram go for the most you can get.
