I'm hoping the School Support Staff Negotiating Body have a positive influence on this as they start to take effect this year, Academies can pay what ever they want for support staff, we took another secondary school on a few years ago and the IT staff were paid more than the rest of the Trust, they cut their wages after 2 years TUPE and they all left, says it all.

I agree there is a big jump between technicians and network manager level! Its under review and I have made a strong case about this.

No this is correct, the experience is desirable but not necessary, we will train the candidate to this level. we put it out as senior position to attract candidates as we wouldn't get any applications.

Hi has any one bought any of these yet? I am looking for information on the mother board and getting no where fast, I need to know if they have a jumper on the mother board for the power switch like a standard ATX board as we use these to connect them inside a desk system. Thanks in advance.

hi I have come back form the summer to the same thing emails just dropping it to drafts in OWA and sitting in outbox on outlook 2010, have you checked you are not running low of space on you system drive on exchange server you have to have 4GB of free space, had that before but not this time loads of space now pulling my hair out now

have you patched the firm ware on these the is a known issue on all but the latest firmware, they stop responding on the HTTP interface and hang, I found info on the procurve forums and the firmware is on the mini site HP Networking: switches, routers, wired, wireless, HP TippingPoint Security think version 1.7 is the latest!

it is SP1 but when reinstalled installed on other OS 32 bit and 64bit still not working I know the BDE bit is suppost to install when you run the FMSaplicationsetup and it looked like it did unfortunatly it looks like it might not have I did manage to grab the installer files but left them on my hard drive this moring think I will try reinstalling it in the morning but I don't think its added teh config properly. I could be chasing a wild goose but I am at a loss what to do next Thanks for teh advice

I have moved it to another server and no joy (2003) I took it home last night and set it up on my home PC windows 7 32bit and wndows 7 64 bit and no better is there a step by step install guide just to make doubley sure that I am doing it right I am starting to doubt my self here as I have tryed everything I can think of and find any where, just checked and the spring release has not been made available but I did down load the new spring disk last night at home and upgraded the Database when I installed from the new disk ISO but it still didn't work I keep looking back to the BDE install and something doesn't seem right I have no idapi file on the C drive ( this maybe right) as its an updated BDE version, also the registry is not looking right (the is no borland key in local machine software) has any one got any info on how this should be set up or how to manually set it up so I can check??

hi yes I did the db atach for FMS and I also have tried a backup of the data base with sql dump ( I run the transfer logins script before it backs up) it doesn't seem to be a data base error as capita and my la have the database and say its working fine. I will have a look at upgradeing to the spring update as it has been released over the last few days Thanks

Thanks I remembered this and yes I think do know the user that did the migration a user that has been disabled and I have no Idea of there password can I reset a users password I do know how to reset the sysman password also can I enable a disabled account? I have SQL management studio installed and can see all the users have level 5 access but the the change password / access rights are still greyed out it very strange?? any Ideas welcome need to have it back up to do end of year very soon

Thanks for all your replies the data has been looked at by capita and It apears to ok ie all the users have level 5 access at their end ??? I can get access as sysman all my users can login but when I try to add new user or change permissions as sysman or any user it greys out all the buttons ie the plus and minus and change passord / access rights. so only the user can change their own password. going to try installing it all again on a different server see if it changes anything, I detached the database and I have also tried attaching a backed up database as well with no change its driving me mad.
