Just to add my 2p worth - we got 4 Broadleaf Access desktop PCs a couple of weeks ago for the staff room and all the staff love them-not just because they look good with the school logo etched on them, but because they work well and have so far proven to be reliable.

I always use mini trunking on the wall. It makes the initial installation take longer but the results are worth it as it looks better and stops cables being ripped out when someone trips over them. Use the self-adhesive stuff to get it positioned properly, then secure it with screws (and suitable wall plugs) so it stays put.

That would depend on the model of access point and whether it can be setup in bridge mode or not. Some info on bridging on netgear's site: Wireless Bridging Overview

@john thanks - I wish it was that simple. I paid nominet to transfer the registra to heart internet back in April. I do have control of the domain, which is why I'm stumped as to how LLN can still have any influence over it.

Well it looks like this is very similar to my situation. LLN (or CAPITA) do seem to still have some control over our domain as they are able to setup aliases for internal emails (from LLN accounts to my office365 account on the school's domain) Question is, how do I get full control of my school's domain so that LLN/CAPITA no longer have anything to do with it?

You had me worried for a minute then. But it must be something peculiar to your network as it works as expected here. Student logins can't see any drives they're not supposed to.

It really depends on budget. I use an Olympus SZ-15 which is brilliant and works well in all situations I've tried so far - but it cost over £100 with the card, spare battery and case. We have some FujiFilm C10 which are rubbish. No good in artificial light which is what they are used in for 95% of the time - oh and they eat batteries. On the other hand, the staff who have the FujiFilm JZ200s are very happy with them. They only cost £45 with a case and 4GB SD card. They have a FujiFilm battery but can be charged in the camera when its connected to USB so not really an issue.

What have I done?

You know @VeryPC Al you could save yourself (and us) a whole lot of time if you just did one video a day. That day's draw and the previous day's prize reveal - imagine the excitement of having both in one video! Just a thought...

I work in a large primary school (724 pupils and 85 staff) and we are somewhere between 2 and 3 using Netgear ProSafe products. 16x WNDAP350s and ProSafe AP-16 wireless manager. For the most part it has been a case of set it up and forget it - works a treat.
