I've successfully built one before now, for the wife to replace her aging G4 that I got for £80 in 2005 when she was made redundant and went freelance then spent £300 on a CPU upgrade for it and shoved a load of SDRAM in I had laying about and turned it into a bit of a beast. The key is picking the right components (not so easy for laptops obviously). Usually Gigabyte motherboards are the best and then choose a supported GPU. If you're doing it from scratch best bet is to look on the aforementioned sites and use bits that someone else has already done the hard work on. If you choose the right bits there's no reason why it wouldn't be 100% reliable

Yeah Ryanair seem to be far more reasonable these days over baggage and it's far easier to dodge many of the charges

It could be your connection that's crappy rather than just the ISP. Can you get your line stats out of your router at all? Really need to see downstream line attenuation and SNR margin then can have a look at what can be done. IF you have a ropey line and most ISPs dont want to know these guys are well worth considering, not the cheapest but the support is second to none they will literally hound BT until issues get fixed. AAISP - Home I've gone back to BT now to save money but they are the best ISP i've ever dealt with, their MD even blogged about my issues some years ago when my throughput was woeful turns out they had 400 homes on a 10Mbps VP and according to BT there was NO contention on their network eventually they issued 6 month lead time as ALL the VPs in the exchange were running hot and they needed to install and additional DSLAM (what a waste of money with WBC/21cn/FTTC around the corner) in the end they got it cut to a few weeks as it was unusable most of the time even for simple browsing. I've since come to the conclusion that BTW have NO network monitoring equipment in place and are relying on ISPs to fault find and prove the contention is inside the BT network, it's an utter farce

Different people find different approaches work for them I guess. For me it is far more intuitive building blocks etc in scheduler is horrible. Probably because you've got a few years of it under your belt you're more proficient in it than me I've only done one complete build in it from start to finish and despite being on the training courses found it really hard going. All the different views in scheduler are just very confusing. Maybe Nova-T just clicks with my way of thinking or had a good trainer or I've done it completely wrong. Who knows lol. Each to their own

Are you logged in as domain admin or a local admin? Had no end of trouble trying to use a local admin account on 2012 for some reason using domain admin sorted it

They did that quite well with The Lost Room too. Rather enjoyed that enough closure but still wriggle room if they had commissioned more

Well it'll be interesting to see if it all goes together well or if i've found it easy because i'm doing it wrong. Still waiting some final staffing and I guess then we'll find out. I found Scheduler very difficult and I was bracing myself for more of the same and was quite pleasantly surprised, especially things like putting option blocks in for KS4

Timetabling for the first time in T6 this year and I can't believe how much more intuitive it is compared to doing the same in Scheduler. Even though it looks and feels rather dated I actually managed to bang the curriculum plan in within a few minutes. Should be ready to push the go button later this week.

Believe has been canned too, was just starting to get into it. I shall have to reinstate my TV rule of only watching a show after 3 seasons have been shown

We've got a couple of Kyocera colour lasers, bomb proof, no drum to change. We buy 3rd party toners from a local company and they last forever despite being in a busy IT room we are unlucky if we get through one set of toners a year. The printer shows empty (by page count presumably) but just keeps on going and going.

Just going the other way from CMIS to Sims and it's a refreshing change, Sims is soooo much better, faster and easier to use.
