[news] Mr Steve Jobs... Tut Tut! Email....
Bananas replied to abillybob's topic in Jokes/Interweb Things
Whereas blowing your company's total cash fund is in the interest. He had borderline personality issues (let's face it most of us do) I wonder if he actually believed some of rhetoric he came out with. The patent system in the US is blatantly not fit for purpose but they're never going to reform it when it's prejudiced in an American company's favour -

Used to work in a multiplex back in the era of films like Jurassic Park. Time between shows doesn't allow you time to clean properly so you pick up the worst. The number of kids that puked on the opening night and we'd just pour some disinfectant on it and spray air freshener. To save money on prints they used to run and interlock system basically as the film cones out of one projector it feeds onto the platter of the next opening night we had 4 way interlock going, what a nightmare that was especially if the film snaps Worst thing ever was picking up cups and popcorn packets and picked up one if the huge drinks cups and it was full, thought they didn't drink much then realised THE CUP WAS WARM arrrrrrgh

Use a local company called Iceni, ludicrously cheap and service printers for free

OMG that just reminded me of something that happened when I was a field engineer for Drs surgeries. We were tracing cabling back to a Drs room so that meant stick head up into the loft, with torch in hand I braved opening the hatch and sticking my head through. Flashing the torch around looking for the cables something near to the hatch caught my eye I shone the torch in that direction and screamed promptly falling of the ladder. In the loft near the hatch was a stuffed fox, with it's lips peeled back snarling. Talk about a brown trouser moment, the staff were oh yeah that's Dr so and so's we put it up there as it's horrible. Thanks for the warning guys, really

Got an email from Unison today, they're balloting us for strike action over the 1% pay rise that's on the table again this year. The lower grades have gone up more as for the first time minimum wage has overtaken them, which says a lot
