Yahoo have a weather API seemingly for the whole world. E.g. Yahoo! Weather - Newcastle upon Tyne, GB You just need the "WOEID" (Where On Earth ID) of the location you want the weather for. Go here (England Weather Forecasts | Maps | News - Yahoo! Weather), find your location, and look at the URL of the page you end up on. It will end in a number - that's the WOEID. Documentation: http://developer.yahoo.com/weather/

Not natively with Javascript. If the web server is IIS and the browser is IE, then you should be able to use the LOGON_USER environment variable from ASP/PHP scripts. Otherwise, you may struggle. The NTLM auth module for Apache is a bit hit-and-miss.

These are your columns; not rows - the rows are the actual records/data that's inserted and stored there. Got ya! You want them to be able to search for something, and have the DB look up data matching this; but only in the int_no, ext_no, mob_no, name, other fields. Yes? OK... Your query should look something like this: SELECT * FROM telephone WHERE (int_no LIKE '%$dir_search%') OR (ext_no LIKE '%$dir_search%') OR (mob_no LIKE '%$dir_search%') OR (name LIKE '%$dir_search%') OR (other LIKE '%$dir_search%') Hope that helps

A polarising filter attached to the webcam may help a little bit, but won't eliminate the problem completely. As an addition to what abullett mentioned, block out as much light from the room as possible. A solution which may work, would be to use an empty cardboard box big enough for the webcam to fit in, with an open end pressed flush against the window.

I personally don't like Ruby as a language - it's too 'human' for me - I like my curly braces and semicolons. From my experience, too, the whole Ruby on Rails and gems system is notoriously a PITA to install. One wrong version number and you're up the creek without a paddle. However, it's the most popular language on Github at the moment (along side Javascript), has a huge following and are some pretty good projects in it. I stick with the traditional LAMP stack (PHP, MySQL) because it's familiar and a very popular and common platform. If you won't be distributing your projects though, that is less of a worry

A note if you decide to use my CRBS: It's not compatible with PHP version 5.3 (5.2 is OK though). I'm still working on version 2.
