@SovietRussia All an Intranet should be is s page that has links to things that staff and students use all of the time, basically a quick links page. Here is ours: Staff Intranet Page: Student Intranet Page: Simple but very effective, if you look at the Staff page you will see a couple of web apps which are bespoke such as the First Aid and the Tech Support and Site Team portals which @webman developed, he is also looking into a toilet control app for the staff which will allow the staff to log which students require the toilet so as we can look into the data and analyse which students may have problems or are just swinging the lead. He is also working on a new first Aid design which will also help our staff manage the first Aid system much better. Forgot to mention the SEF (Self Essesment Framework) which helps the SLT keep our school on track with its teaching and learning. He does build bespoke web apps at a premium but not as expensive as all the others. Nothing flash but just works cheers @webman

@jakebon Its the Google data security acceptance form, you just have to allow the actual page through in Smoothwall or your firewall etc It just allows the end user to accept and then they can access Google search pages

I administer anything to do with the Sims which is within my role as I manage the whole network, communications and Finance systems plus much more.

@cpjitservices We've been using it here at the school for the past 8 years and it is solid as a rock, running 1400 accounts atm, we are looking towards moving to G-Mail and GAFE with Google classroom, as my role has changed at the school I can no longer build infrastructure or Servers (JRE) so we are moving stuff into the cloud and some services back to the LA to manage. All goes well with it though on a positive note!! Laaaahhhhhhh!!!! hehe! Hope all is well with you good buddy

I think its overkill for what it does, each computer has to have the license manager installed before you can open any of the software, why don't they just put it online!! Such a PITA for something which could be web based Poor software in my eyes!!

I think its just awesome! Tech lad here has just got Samsung S6 but so full of bloatware, as time goes on Oxygen will get much better, each update fixing any problems with certain social media apps and quickly too which is good. I too like the fingerprint scanner amongst other things, camera although stock is pretty awesome too and resolution for watching movies is great but then I have old eyes so anything these days is an improvement, Just loving this phone

LAN3 for the Wireless, very competent company with excellent engineers and support

@Liam86 I don't think it is specific for our network, it is required for us as I have the network really tightly screwed down and this doesn't allow the users to run exe's from their appdata folder as part of their profile, I did create path and file rules but as the updates were incremental everytime an update was available I would have to create a new file rule which really wasn't productive, Anyway if you are having a problem I would definitely ring them as their support is excellent

Well all sorted now thanks to one of 4Matrix developers called "Chris" Created a Launcher XML file which allows the standard user to install the updates, works like a charm! Thank you Chris

@abillybob Got 4G (LTE) bud and its fantastic from EE around our area, exceptional speeds currently at work which is nowhere near the town centre and downloading at 20MB and 5MB upload. Great phone so far absolutely no complaints

Well its arrived and all I can say is Wow!!! Great build quality, not as configurable as the OnePlus One with its new Oxygen OS but excellent overall even the camera which some people have slated, took no time at all to setup, screen is superb for my needs and talk about quick...........Its soooooo quick! Battery life is very very good compared to other phones around me....HTC M9, Samsung S6, IPhone 6s to name but a few, well impressed so far and not bothered about NFC, finger print scanner for security works so quickly and effectively just loving it!! So glad I bought it and thank you guy's for the invite, I haven't got any invites yet but expect they will sort soon (Keep checking everyday) so when they do come in I will share same as everyone else, Have a great weekend you guy's n gal's

Yes we use Kingston throughout the school and they have been really good and at £30 its good value!

@Liam86 Done this and still no joy at the moment, This is why I am talking to the technical people at 4Matrix It maybe that I have stricter security policies in force on the network than others and this could be one of the reasons, but we will find out, Thanks for your input though appreciated

Auuuuuggghhhh! "Linux!" is there nothing it can't do? Doh! Love them or hate them they all have their merits and that's why we are employed, to help others utilise them in a more gamely fashion, To be true I like all of the mainstream OS's its just the cost of the hardware they run on that I find extortionate! @Mr_Jiminy Have a look at either Aerohive APs or Meraki they seem to be the market leaders and I have had no problems for well over 3 years, a company called LAN3 did our heat survey, planned, installed and configured the devices around the school in 2 days and we haven't had to touch them since apart from updating the software from time to time. Can highly recommend

@clairelangton Just in talks with 4Matrix atm, hopefully I have made them aware allowing users local admin rights to run the updates is not feasible as it presents a security risk, I did create Folder and file permissions and it did work on the first update but as the updates are incremental numbered versions it is not a good solution, if the update had a specific name then it would be easy to set a file rule up to allow the users to run that executable from the temp folder within the 4Matrix program files. Also the temp folder updates do not delete after running so we are going to end up with an awful lot of update files in there which will have to be cleaned out so this would be another reason for having just a names update file which would overwrite the previous one when it had been installed, They are going to get back to me
