This setting is is User Configuration-->Administrative Templates-->Start Menu and Taskbar-->Remove user's folders from the Start Menu In our case we don't currently display ANY local start menu items we just display the redirected part with our XP clients. Does this mean that if we want to mix XP and Vista/7 clients we must display local items too? EDIT: This behaviour is also exhibited by XP with IE8 installed in my experience so far

Having similar issue this time Windows Server 2003 (non R2)DC schema level 2000. Win7 and Vista clients have empty start menu, have also recently noticed that XP clients with IE8 installed exhibit identical behaviour.

I could send e-mails internaly to other Zimbra addresses and could send to servicebirmingham people

Does not include Software, Intellectual Property Licensing etc I do think that 499USD=338GBP (U.S. price) vs 429GBP (UK price)is annoying

Does anyone know why Link2ICT needed to disable access to Zimbra untill the Mx records were changed? Seem's completely unnecessary. I was having fun playing with the Zimbra interface. Also can't train anyone on Zimbra untill they start recieving new mail to it and they won't be able to check mail on the old address. Lot's of e-mails will go un-answered!

Update on this. Airfoil developers now do a iphone app to turn your iphone into Airfoil remote speakers. Also any remote pc can be used as a remote speaker. Discovery of new speakers is instant and zeroconf. Did not have to manually have to adjust my firewall on windows 7 to get this working with AirPort express.

Leaving BGFL

@Sylv3r : What is your RBC? Is that cost from the "default" provider/Local Authority? And MIS licencing/support is extra? -
Zimbra Email BGFL?
Alis_Klar replied to mtdmitchell's topic in West Midlands Regional Broadband Consortium (WMnet)
There is no option to bulk provision aliases or storage quota. Can anyone else see a way of doing this other than individually? The only fields in the CSV are Username, displayname and password! Also in the GAL (Global Address List) you have to search for the name and cannot simply see a list of names. If there were groups it would be nice to see all users listed. I believe Outlook Web Access works like this. -
Zimbra Email BGFL?
Alis_Klar replied to mtdmitchell's topic in West Midlands Regional Broadband Consortium (WMnet)
Couple of things. You don't have to use the Becta reccomended email address. You can upload a CSV yourself and delete the accounts Link2ICT have created. Also the Zimbra Outlook Connector works great with BGfL Zimbra. Not sure if they will turn it off when server usage goes up as it it not advertised as a feature they have enabled. Also if you visit the Zimbra page in a mobile browser it reformats it for a mobile devices such as iPhone and Blackberry etc. @L_Smith : You could implement a simple 2,3 or 4 digit number as the username thus preserving the anonymity of the child and being perhaps more memorable I have tested the minimum requirements for new accounts The password needs to be 6 or more character (no complexity requirement) username can be as short as 1 character -
LOL!! You really would think that the Vista verstion would work on Windows 7

Sorry if this is off topic Great Idea, very poorly implemented 1. Reporting Interface Stinks. Why must I squint through a massive drop down list of reports. Please categorise them Hierarchically. 2. Setting up recipients for e-mailed reports is poorly implemented 3. IE Problems

Have found an answer. The following thread says that support for 64bit processors other than itanium started with BE 10 but there is a kinda dodgey work around on the same thread others say it worked for them!

Just tried running a msi which was in "c:\program files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\NT\Agents\RANT64\VERITAS Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Servers.msi" got error "This installation package is not supported by this processor type. Contact your product vendor." BTW this server has a Intel Xeon E5405 CPU Obviously Symantec no longer support such an old version Also tried the RANT32 version. Got Error "This installation package is not supported by the 64-bit processor type. Contact your product vendor.

Hi, We have rejigged our servers. I have old Licence keys for Veritas Backup Exec 9.1 Don't want to pay for the latest version (would rather get Backup Assist) Managed to track down the download for it VERITAS Backup Exec 9.1 for Windows Servers revision 4691.1 (Split download 1/6) Have been able to use the remote install feature to install RAWS "Remote Agent for Windows Servers" on my 32 bit servers. Our main storage server is Windows Storage Server R2 64 bit. Does there exist a 64 bit version of RAWS/RANT? If I try to push out the installation I get an error about not supporting 64bit. Interestingly it let me install the full Veritas 9.1 on the 64 bit box after warning me that some drivers were incompatable but as I am not using tape drives I ignored it and it continued. Also will not be using AOFO as aparently this interferes with VSS and previous versions and can render a volume read only (not sure if this is fixed). Just wanted the acceleration features of the Remote Agent not sure if they require drivers to work therefore nessesitating a 64 bit version. Also would a new version of the agent work? Don't think it will!

Does the quickbook spin stand up to kids trying to pick the keys off. This is a major haeadache for us with laptops here. Thinking of using some sort of tablet in future with virtual keyboard.

Just bought the Samsung N150 form PCWorld for £279 I bought it for the new Pineview based CPU N450 which gives a claimed 9h battery life on 6cell battery which is what you get for £279 Comes with Win 7 Starter which now no longer has the 3 app limit boots up very fast and runs snappy although for some strange reason it has the green bootup progres bar from vista instead of the swurly windows flag of 7. sleep works well too i can happily say. Al devices come out of sleep reliably. Hibernate is slow but reliable. running all the factory installed bloatware, firefox and windows security essentials as the AV(uninstalled the bundled mcafee) it uses 800Mb of the 1Gb RAM so not alot left to play with. Gonna install 2Gb of RAM but will test to see how the additional circuitry affects battery life. As another poster said the 1024x600 resolution can be changed to 1024x768 but everything looks a bit squashed Strangely you have to run samsung software to dis(en)able charge from USB when turned off. Why isnt this an option in the BIOS or a physical switch on the device. As other reviews have stated it has a silly tiny slide power control

Hi, Have been asked to get pricing for Oracle Primavera Suretrak. Our Business Studies teacher used this software when he worked in the Aerospace industry and wants to teach it to the kids. Long shot: does anyone know of a educational discount for this software? I seriously suspect that non exists. Seems to retail for £500 min. He also wants pricing for training as it was a while ago he last used it.
