  1. I also found this:
  2. I am looking to do the same thing and I am stuck on the Home Drive part! But to help with a few of your questions I have already managed to figure out: - Staff to login at home: You will need to go into Directory Utility and under Services Click on Active Directory. Under the User Experience Tab you will want to tick create mobile account at login. Make sure that require confirmation is unticked - Networked Devices: To stop that I turn off the Bonjour Service on the Macs. I can't remember the program I used to use its on a harddrive I don't have with me.. but it was Called something like Service Daemon and it was a picture of a little devil. You run it and you can then turn off services running on the Mac. - Mount Network Drives: You can use the Preference policy on the Mac Server to do this. Under the Dock preference there is an option in there to add it to the dock. Hope that helps some...
  3. @scotyboy56 I am currently trying to do exactly what you have managed to achieve. I have been searching the net everywhere for this solution. Are you able to share with me how you have managed to get this working? I have been trying to do this for months pulling my hair out! Thanks
  4. Are you on the switch that should have the IP Helper address configured?
  5. Heya, Just to let you know that I tried the sh running-config and managed to get the IP Helper address on one of my devices here:
  6. I'll have a look in my ccna book tomorrow for you when I get to work if no one else has replied to your post by then to see if I can find anything for you. I would have thought it would be in the show running config though? Usually most info is in there.
  7. I am pretty sure you can find this if you do the show running config command. You need to be in enabled mode to do this not in conf t mode. Does that help any?
  8. Can you PM what price you would be after? Thanks
  9. I just wanted to clear this up. I do not work for a big company reselling this product. I am just a IT Tech in a School and thought I could help out. Didn't mean any harm.
  10. Ahh sorry I have misread your post.. Indeed Ranger Primary you just need Licence's for. That makes things easier! You can just buy the 10 Licence pack and get a new Key code from Ranger. Shouldn't cost £700 thats for sure!! Sounds to me like Stone are trying to take you for a ride.. Ranger Remote is an optional purchase not a must if you upgrade your licences!
  11. Hey man, What version of Apple are you running on the MacBook? Apple have the app store for your MacBook as well. Sadly yes you have to buy them both separately!
  12. Hiya, I have been working with Ranger for a number of years and have learnt how this game goes.... That is very extreme what you have been quoted. You can buy the system all over again for that price! Have you been paying the Ranger Upgrade contract every year? Its about £330 I think! If you haven't... then Ranger back date this when you want to buy new licences and force you to upgrade. So that means you pay for the new licences and a upgrade protection. I hate how they do that and I think its a rip off! Another thing is that you can only buy Licecnes in packs of 10 with Ranger... Another money making Scheme! Don't get me wrong their products are great in the right places but I don't agree with how they do things regarding money making! I don't know why your reseller has quoted you for Ranger Primary as well as you only need the Ranger Remote Control.. its all separate! Sounds a bit funny to me! I used to be a Ranger Reseller for about 4 years.
  13. Awesome.. Might PM you to ask you a few questions about your setup if thats cool? Just studying your vids now.. Looking to go Thin Client as well!
  14. I usually lock the Laptops down so heavy all they can do is do work and surf the net Oh and open a few programs if they are lucky ;p
  15. Nice vid's dude!
  16. I think that is because you have the System Tray GPO activated. Deactivate it should come back?
  17. Is that possible?! Would be awesome if it could! The App I use to browse the network on an iPad is called FileBrowser if that is any help to you? You can customise it to show only certain shares and lock it down so that people can't add Shares they shouldn't be accessing. http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=filebrowser%20app%20ipad&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CC4QFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fitunes.apple.com%2Fgb%2Fapp%2Ffilebrowser-access-files-on%2Fid364738545%3Fmt%3D8&ei=rd4WT_SxHc6p8QP3lYT9Ag&usg=AFQjCNGDp2Nq57MTxx1PVBHk4-4-A8fmcw
  18. I should have explained it better. MSI's are fine and I can deploy those no problem. Its when the Installer is an exe I am not sure what the best way to put this across the network is. Sometimes the programs need you to enter the licence after it has been installed.. so really the software would need to almost take a snap shot of the machine after the software has been installed and then this can be pushed out to all the rest.
  19. Hi All, How do you install software across the network? I have about 100 machines that I need to install new Software to but I don't want to have to go round them all individually. I used to use Advanced Installer and create MSI's out of the Software, but now because I haven't used it for so long I don't have a clue what I am doing with it. The Clients are Windows 7, The Server is 2008 R2 Thanks
  20. VNC was great for XP because it was free! But now with Windows 7 sadly you have to pay I am not sure what other Free ones are out there... But I know of some other companies you could try that you have to pay for: Netop Remote Control, Ranger Remote Control, ERGO Free2Teach. But they have loads of added extras for Teachers use so not sure that you would want those products if your just using it for Remote support. Oh yeh we also use Teamviewer.. but again that is pay for, its a great support tool though!
  21. The question is which one gave you the best deal?!
  22. That's good to know!!
  23. Hey Guys, Thanks for everyones input! Gave Vaioni a shout yesterday and they have been great! Came back with EFM being the best and cheapest option for us. 10MB up & down on a 10MB Bearer. Thats fine for what we need.. only a Primary School. Called up some other companies as well but really rate Vaioni for speed! Got prices same day with these guys... Thanks
  24. Just dropped them a line now... They are gonna get something to me today. Thanks for your help man
  25. Firewall, WebFilter & VPN Sorted with a Sonicwall box. E-mail is being done with Google Apps. Web Hosting is also outsourced, no need for video conferencing. The only main bulk of it will be Internet Access and VPN access back to the School.
