I had the hdcp message pop up on a few of ours and have the same setup you have by the sound of it. We got round it my dropping the resolution of the apple tv to hd ready or below on 50 Hz, cleared up a few of our issues. Just a thought.

Thats perfect thank you, just a little something so the boss can see we really are working and not playing around up here. As always fast and efficient service Nick.

Hi Nick, was thinking maybe there could be a report function for the helpdesk. How many tickets in a week, tickets closed, average open time you know stuff like that. Not sure if it's already there and I missed it or someone has already requested it. Cheers.

I did a work placement as part of my sandwich course and found it a real challenge and learnt so much and set me up well for future work. I will say though please pay them minimum wage for the hours their doing or even a little extra. we speak so much on here about being taken for granted and we all need to live and make a living. Back in 09 the lowest paid placement was £9000 and even then a lot of students just skipped that offer and went else where. Just a thought and not meaning to judge or preach at anyone. TL: DR uni placements are a great idea, just pay them more then peanuts

Very true when it's set up its an amazing product but sometimes it can be torture. I use a spread sheet and create my xml code in that using concatenate. It's not pretty but can be used to spot duplicates. Like I said one teacher for one room. Good luck.

The way the booking system works is one teacher in one room at one time. You can't have two staff in one room or one staff member in two places. Check your bookings to make sure your have no mistakes as this is how I got rid of my errors when setting up. Check your pe staff first if it's anything like mine there all put in one room and they just decide them selves where to teach. Hope that helps.

Morning Nick The usuals first, love HAP so useful and love all the features your getting in there. I've found a problem with IE9 on our network. Some people have reported that the booking system gets stuck with a blank screen and on the helpdesk a user cannot register a new ticket or even see their old tickets. Looks like something isnt loading up. This happens no matter who logs on to the machine, but works fine if the user uses Google Chrome. Is there anything I could do to make it more consistent? All machines on site have being imaged with the same image over the summer to Windows 7 SP1 Pro. Thank you as always.

That's great to hear glad to help.

Have you looked at point and print restrictions? Just a thought. Also any chance you could take some screen shots? Finally does it work when there are no polices applied? Feels like 20 questions sorry.

I had a similar issue on a few clients. What I did: 1. Restart the rpc service and print spooler service. For some reason they weren't running. 2. As above try adding the printer as administrator 3. Check the driver, especially for ho try using universal print driver pcl 5 (v 6.1) I think it's something like that. We just moved to win 7 and found some xp drivers didn't work so well. Hope that helps.

Very true, maybe get away with it if your cloning them and set it up first but your right. Would have to do one at a time with a group of them.

I'm sure I read some where that if you install the k9 web browser and disable safari you can set block lists etc per device. Worth a thought.

Me again, as always love HAP just useless at the setup. I've set HAP up on the same server as my v7 install which is also playing up now (think I've broke it). Any way when adding a drive mapping (%homedir%) i get an error appear in IE9 saying An WCF error occured. Ive attached the screen shot of this. and what happens when I try going on to a drive using v7. I have checked the unc paths and everything looks ok but i will say we have just had two new DC installed and unpromoted(?) the two old DC's. Thank you again

Net2 here aswell, let me know if I can help

+1 here your're right there is a 30 day trial.
-
No problem any time. Mac_shinobi beat me too it, could they have restricted their account by accident?
-
Could they be confusing gpp with wgm? As I've always understood that unless you have a gpp add on like the centrify stuff group policy will have no effect on macs. Since you mentioned golden triangle I doubt you have centrify. Just my opinion.

[ipad] List of iPad apps for staff?
TechieWils replied to Sam_Brown's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
You forgot sky go and angry birds ... For the documentaries and geometry of course -
Greatest comment on a price I have ever read! They are well expensive, may have to take some of these suggestions to the boss.

+1 for Seton again, like has being said there not bullet proof but the best we've had
-
+1 for issuu here very easy to setup with just a bit of html embed code to get on to your site.
-
From what I understand and I'm no expert so sorry if I'm wrong. You cannot push out paid for apps yet as you require the volume license to push paid apps out and you can only get that in the USA. Free apps should work fine with it though.

You can always tell who's from the black country, just say battered chips. You take a standard chip, cover in the same batter as say a battered sausage and fry. Delicious and every bag comes with a possible heart attack lol
-
If I ever get a lunch time it would have to be battered chips and curry sauce.
