  1. I'm with Witch, we bought 80 Samsung N150 netbooks which came bundled with 1gb, stuck in 2gb ourselves during the imaging. Nice little laptops and cant say I've had many problems with them.
  2. I actually have an ISO image of xp where you can install it on to a usb stick. You have to edit the cab files so it doesn't flush the USB channels during the installations. I found the instructions a few years ago on how to do it. The speed is poor and it locks it to that hardware type meaning it isn't hardware independent. Also as its a usb with limited read write cycles you could only run it for a month solos before it dies. If any ones interested I can dig up the instructions and/or ISO image.
  3. Check out the PICO chargers from Maplins, multiple adapters for different makes and model. Small and light and fairly cheap. You can pre charge them off a usb and then just use it to top up your phone through out your visit. But like others have said turn off data, bluetooth, sceen brightness, off at night and only when needed. My old desire lasted 5 days at the sonisphere festival last year like this and that was with phone calls and texts to friends at the festival and the missus. link Freeloader PICO
  4. Just a quick one, when you leave the window sinactive for a while it logs you out. Is there any way of increasing the amount of time of inactivity before HAP logs you off? Thank you
  5. Sorry I meant no one at my school has requested, I spotted it in the request thread. It really is an amazing piece of software. Thank you for sharing it, supporting it and putting up with all our cries for help.
  6. No one here has requested it yet but that is amazing. Thank you
  7. Like every one else has said .... Ditto
  8. No worries, thought it's about time I started paying back all the help this forum has given me. Like I said fog 0.29 and 0.30 never worked right for me. Let us know how it goes Monday.
  9. Good thinking Morganw, also make sure your sysprep file has persistent pnp devices = true (something along those lines) I might be going over an old point so apologies but in fog you have set the image to single disk with win 7 as the guest os on the machine tab. If it's set to any other os it won't handle the 100mb partition automatically. Also what version of fog are you running, personally I had nothing but problems with win 7 till I upgraded to 0.32
  10. Couldn't tell you brands and specifics off the top of my head but we use apple tv to hdmi to VGA converter which goes into the projector or a VGA/audio matrix splitter. With that you can pick the sound and visual out put on the teacher pc and projector independently while still only using a single VGA input on the projector. Apologies if that is explained really bad, my brain is fried.
  11. My showto groups were set the same as the rest of my hap.config file "staff, office, domain admins" I changed that to "all" and everything is right with the world again. Thank you again, your a life saver.
  12. Me again, almost done now I promise. When logging in as an administrator my booking system looks like this: when logging in as a member of staff it looks like this: In the overview section i can see the overview of all my rooms and any free spaces within it. Any idea's? Thank you
  13. Once again, you've being a big help thank you
  14. Could be their way of doing a final test run, putting it under live conditions while it's still in their control (not in the wild). Hope they have a back up plan if it all goes Pete tong
  15. Hi Nick (and everyone else) I've just updated from 6.4 and have got to say it's looking very tidy. I wanted to know is there a way of importing all my rooms from my old 6.4 web.config to 7.10? At the moment I can only see doing it via the setup screen on at a time. Am i missing something? Thank you as always
  16. Bgfl here and it works fine except the find my iPad app says its in San Jose ...
  17. Never tried a Lenovo, but an idea is to download a new kernel from the fog site (can do it from the web portal) your best bet is one of the kitchen sink kernels (cause it has everything in it including the kitchen sink lol) they're full of drivers which may do the trick.
  18. As a couple of guys have said you can only upload a wpad file on to zone defender (mines a zd1000, no built-in transparent proxy) which configures ie and apple devices. The only way to get it working with android, blackberry etc is to use a transparent proxy as your default gateway and and point that towards your LEA proxy.
  19. As promised here's the guide I used to start me off building a Windows 7 image: WINDOWS 7.pdf
  20. Ah, I've had that. When I've finished setting everything up before I install fog or sysprep I take a full disk image as a backup like you want to. I set the os to vista and take a image single disk multiple partition. All in the web management. Windows isn't starting as it doesn't take the 100mb partition. Once the backup image is taken install fogprep, fog client and run sysprep and capture the image as windows 7 single disk single partition. I did read you don't need fog prep but I always run just in case and works for me. I'll attach a guide I used to this post in the morning. Can't do it from my phone sorry.
  21. I use fog and love it, I use single disk, single partition and it does work. I found you have to run fogprep and fog client and set it to os type windows 7 on the web site. It should work as long as you havent changed or did anything to the 100mb system partition. If I can offer any help I'll gladly do my best.
  22. Found it but can't upload it from my phone so will in the morning. The protocol was WCCP on Cisco edge switches btw
  23. Completely agree with you they need to get it sorted and start offering a real transparent proxy solution instead of saying do it your self it does work and that's it. I'll dig the document out they sent me I know it's round here somewhere...
  24. Apparently link2ict are investigating it but have found a number of issues with their infrastructure mainly the Cisco switches not being able to handle a specific protocol (can't remember which one now) A little naughty but I just couldnt build my own squid box (more time and practice required) so I stuck smooth wall express on a vm to test it out and works like a charm. It's also put us on a path to get a proper smoothie box and finally leave bgfl.
  25. You beat me to it, so to confirm. Yes installing a new squid box (transparent) and pointing to your lea proxy upstream will work. No https just dies, man in the middle attack etc. Yeah change your default gateway to your transparent gateway and your good to go. Works with all http traffic on all devices but be aware stuff like the android market allows you to view apps but not download them. It uses non standard ports to download. Hope it helps.
