  1. Nice to hear its now working. Might have to do the same thing here shortly....
  2. I think there used to be two access dbs, one with the front end the other with the data in it. Have you migrated from SIMS by any chance? If so you may find a team db on the sims SQL server. Thats the route we took, though we left the team system just before the sql stage.
  3. I think I have had the miss fortune to have to install this! We ended up doing a manual install on the maths machines as there seems to be many cludges in the package.
  4. I have just started the final testing of a Integral AG47 memory stick with the plan of getting 100 laser etched for issue to our staff, and found that they work perfectly for staff (if I enable auto run) but NOT for administrators! I can only assume its something in our computer OU settings, but can`t find anything that fits the problem. Our Computer settings are fairly minimal. Anyone else had problems, or any suggestions where to look? Thanks RobK
  5. Have you opened ports 80 (http) and 443 (https) to the external interface? That may explain OWA as I think that requires a secure connection. [Edit] Just checked, http address for your mail server resolves here, but returns a 403, so its going to be 443 blocked in the rules.[/Edit]
  6. Hope to be heading down again this year, need to put in the leave request shortly. Let me know whats required. RobK
  7. We have just been asked to do that here, apparently OfSTED put you straight into special measures if your safeguarding is not up to date, so we are going through forests to ensure we have all the evidence in triplicate!
  8. I thought I had just dialed the wrong no, got through on the second attempt though. Thanks for the help Chris!
  9. I don`t think you can do this to eportal, what are you attempting? I think you can import SOME assessment data via a bulk import into facility, comments etc start to be a problem. It is very easy to trash the system with bulk imports I should mention... RobK
  10. Doh! Yes that blows that idea out of the water. Thanks for confirming that. Robk
  11. As a interim measure before replacing our staff laptops with windows 7 and bit locker, I am looking for a very quick fix for a small number of laptops which are taken off site. Our my documents folder is redirected, and Off line files used to provide access to this when working with a cached account off net. If I enable the GPO option to encrypt the off line files cache, are there any issues if the user does not regularly sync the machine/changes their password etc? From what I can see for domain member workstations the domain administrator account should also have recovery rights to the off line files cache. Have I got this right? (I realise this is a very weak security measure, and files saved in the wrong place would not be encrypted, just need to put some form of fix in place while we look at the budget and workload!) The impact of full disk encryption is likely to make some of these machines un-usable, and anything that extends the "time to desktop" is likely to give major problems. Any suggestions? Thanks Robk
  12. You could export the reports, create the new folders, and when you re-import select current folder rather than origanal folder name. If these are Form reports with embedded lists you may need to watch which embedded reports are linked to though.
  13. Well that saves a call to support! We had exactly the same occur on our UTM after the FP3 upgrade, only performace dropped off after a few days with the db load. After several hours on the phone to support we ended up wiping the database and starting again, now seeing the second set of errors mentioned in the OP`s thread. Performance seems to have picked up though.
  14. I would suggest using a vlan for the wireless connections, and firewalling that from the rest of the network, otherwise wireless users have full access to your network from unmanaged devices. By the sound of it you already have firewall rules in place, you just need to funnel the data to the firewall.
  15. Happy Birthday Tom!
  16. Would love to use smoothzap as it's already on our utm but it appears exchange will not route internal mail via such a device! If I can get round that issue I would be sorted. As for the external connector, if we had students work at home rights on schools agreement we would be fine, without you need the external licence. Would love to lose the cost of that though!
  17. It looks like our current mail server is in its death throws, and I am looking at replacing it with a exchange box. I have a dual quad core storage server that I can use for the job, which is 64bit capable, though only has 4gb ram, so factoring 16gb ram into the cost for that. I then need to licence exchange, and external connector licences for our students. Will add the backup exec agent to cover the DR backup. What else will I need to put in place? i.e. what does exchange need in the way of attachement filtering etc for a school enviroment. Our current system allows me to intercept exe file attachements etc between students. I see exchange can be set with filetype filters, but seems to infer that this shouldn`t be done on local users! Our email is filtered and virus checked by our LA, but local emails would be missed, are there any free solutions to this, or do I need to be looking at puremessage etc for filtering and virus scanning? (again it appears you can`t route internal email via a smtp connector or I could use our smoothwall UTM for the task. Once I have all this set up I just need to migrate all 1600 mailboxes accross using imap.... This was likely to be a summer holiday project, but things have overtaken me, hence the long list of questions. Any suggestions would be very welcome. Thanks RobK
  18. I used the walk through from here. insall_walkthrough_debian_&_Active_Directory ? openvpn-als (Not my spelling mistake for once!) I wonder if this the tools.jar file that contains some ldap bits? Certainly this set of docs worked for me. Hope it helps. Rob
  19. Interesting, is this on a windows host or Linux host (I noticed your other thread) I have it running on a debian host, and find the bug "NetworkPlaces path problem - ID: 2827875" hits us. That said, I just found this in the bug notes on SourceForge:- and it appears to work for us. So hopefully that moves things along a little. RobK
  20. Does that work for subdirectories below the root though? That seems to be the issue. I am looking at re-installing the older SSL explorer to get round this issue here. RobK
  21. I have been asked to sort out a Nokia 6288 which when handed to me just brings up the inital splash screen, and then flashes the screen white three times...... Google tells me that this seems to be a issue with the phone when bluetooth has been used to update apps etc, and the firmware is corrupted. There are a number of reset codes (which only work when the phone can boot......) You can apparently hold #,3,green and power to reset, but again I think the phone is too far gone to get to this option. I then downloaded nokia`s firmware update software etc, and tried that, but it does not detect the phone, saying is the phone turned on (well no, becouse thats what I am trying to fix...). Any suggestions? Normally I would be saying just replace the phone, but there are very good reasons to keep with that model, and this is a ebay replacement for one with a broke screen, so cost is becoming a big issue for the owner. RobK
  22. I have been working on a simalar system, though I only needed to know which rooms were timetabled so could book the others. I am only dealing with eight rooms though. Robk
  23. If you run a report, you can right click and select export to give a tab delimited text file, or leave data on the clipboard that can be pasted into excel. You then just need a report that lists all the timetable events. You could have a look at the cmis database directly, but Serco would not support this! Robk
  24. There is a bug in the current version that breaks this functionality. You only see files in the root of a share! It's listed as a known bug, there is no timescale shown to fix. Robk
  25. Its not Mbox format (Cyrus uses it's own file format for mailstores), so I suspect this is not the issue. The current server has a very old Riser filesystem, which I suspect (due to the age of the install) may be causing serious issues with performance. RobK
