find the online owners club and join that you can usualy join the forums for free. but the first thing i would do is have somebody show you how to change a wheel (just so you dont have to sit for hours waiting for the AA man to do it for you) and work out how to check oil/water levels just the basics

[Arwen} The practical test needs a major revamp, and retesting done periodicaly through your life would be beinfical. Look how many changes have been made to the highway code in last 10 years, and how many older drivers know about priority or dealing with cross roads? Can you explain if you mean younger drivers don’t know about priority or cross roads or if you mean older drivers? As we have had cross roads and priority laws for a very long time cheers

just to add to the argument Section 30 of the Road Traffic Act 1988, as amended by the Road Traffic Act 1991, provides the offence of cycling on a road or public place whilst under the influence of drink or drugs. It states: 30(1) A person who, when riding a cycle on a road or other public place, is unfit to ride through drink or drugs (that is to say, is under the influence of drink or a drug to such an extent as to be incapable of having proper control of the cycle) is guilty of an offence. NOTES (i) The evidence of the extent to which a person is affected must be measured by means other than the provision of a specimen of breath, blood or urine, as there is no power to require such a specimen in these circumstances. However, if such a specimen was offered, it is probable that the evidence obtained by analysis of the specimen would be admissible. (ii) In Scotland a constable may arrest without warrant a person committing an offence. (iii) In England and Wales a constable may only arrest without warrant in accordance with the powers of arrest set out in section 24 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984. In such an instance, that power might be exercised where a satisfactory address has not been furnished, or the constable has reasonable grounds for believing that arrest is necessary to prevent such a person causing physical injury to himself or any other person (see also other conditions in s24 of PACE). (iv) The absence of a specific power of arrest in England and Wales affects the ability of the police to present any form of medical evidence of the accused's condition. (v) There is no offence of 'being in charge' of a cycle under the Road Traffic Acts, but such conduct may well be an offence of drunk in charge of a carriage under section 12 of the Licensing Act 1872. A bicycle or tricycle is a carriage for the purpose of that section. so ... im off to grab my popcorn:)

woo hoo fixed it but not really sure how I spent a long time in the registery hunting down all traces of the document server then went into services and switched the service to manual start, then rebooted, once the laptop had rebooted i disabled the service by disabling the profile as it was the only way to make sure it wasnt trying to start. Then i deleted the old docserver folders from the c: drive and within programfiles sims.net rebooted again then reinstalled using simsint.exe and picked document store option rebooted reenabled service and set to automatic Rebooted and now it works Next time im just going to reimage the laptop. I'm soooo looking forward to doing the sql2008 conversion Thanks for the help Andy

thanks for the advice but the service will not start and is not showing any dependencies

AAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Ok i feel better now. Ive got an issue with a machine that we use as a stand alone sims system ( for training and playing around on) During the last update the database got a bit messed up. So i uninstalled sims + removed the database, tried to uninstall the document server and have hit a problem It will not uninstall. I've been in control pannel and is says that it cannot uninstall as a file is missing or corrupt.I have looked through the registery and cannot see anything that looks strange or is relating directlly to the document server Ive managed to reinstall sims with a new db and restore the data to that but i cannot re install the document server as it thinks that the old one is still there and keeps asking me to uninstall it. I really do not want to flatten the machine and reinstall it again from scratch but i will if i cant get this going again. So im stuck all help and advice welcomed thanks Andy
