  1. Apparently Tucasi, AMI, and CRBCunninghams are owned by the Jonas Group, which might explain the preference! AMI are much smaller than CRBCunninghams, looking after a few hundred schools vs. several thousand.
  2. Nope, it's pretty much 20m across the hall where I need to run it, so has to go straight on the floor.
  3. It's a temporary 20m run, so pretty long. Just wanted to make sure I got the right tape to stick it down with, as this is a first for me.
  4. We've got a fancy new floor where I need to apply the tape, which is part of my concern. I will avoid the painted lines though.
  5. Contact O365 support and they said something had to be unlocked and took 24 hours. I didn't get told anything had been changed, but went in yesterday and instead of getting the error I got a different message that the number of licenses added had to be between 1,000,000 and some even larger number. So for the heck of it I typed in 1,000,000 and it accepted it. So I now have 1,000,000 (free) licenses. Odd!
  6. Hi folks, We have a few hundred (free) Office 365 A1 for students licenses. I've gone into the admin console, and Billing > Products & Services > Add/Remove licenses, and tried to increase the number. I have to tick a box to say there will be a credit check (despite it being £0) but when I clicked Submit change I get the error "An error has occurred. Please try again later." Any ideas how I can add licenses? This seems to be the most obvious place. Thanks
  7. We know a couple of local schools that use Cunninghams, and although they've had issues the overall picture seems to be positive. Still, interested to hear the negative as well!
  8. Hi folks, Just after any positive and/or negative feedback from any schools using either AMI Education or CRBCunninghams, as we are considering them for replacing our current tills. We use Tucasi for the online accounts. Thanks
  9. Hi folks, Any recommendations for gaffer tape? Something to tape cables to a floor, that ideally comes off with the minimum of mess. Thanks
  10. OOI are you changing due to problems with EasyTrace?
  11. Poll: What Till System Do You Use?
  12. In case it's useful, Tucasi work with the following, and recommend those with a *. Cunninghams (CRB)* Nationwide ("NRS" "Nationwide Retail Systems") (Obviously now Civica) Biostore LiveRegister Vericool AMI* LCR Infineer Uniware I'm starting with a few of these to get quotes.
  13. Hi folks, Can anyone recommend software for registering student attendance at clubs? Must haves = SIMS integration (at least for the student names), an app to make it portable Ideals = some form of biometric registration (see my previous post about face recognition, but I'm guessing that's still blue sky tech) We aren't worried about parent integration, paying for clubs etc. It's just the student registration bit. Currently we use an O365 spreadsheet, but cannot get staff to use it consistently. A few years back we looked at SIMS Activities, Schoolcomms Clubs, CHQ, and Tucasi Extended Day, but didn’t push the button on any as we wanted to try the O365 approach first. At that time CHQ had the most appropriate product, albeit expensive. Thanks
  14. @mavhc I think we'd need something that's fully supported, as it has to work 100% and integrate with Tucasi.
  15. Hi folks, Can anyone recommend a company that can do club registration by facial recognition? (Not sure if such a thing exists yet!) Thanks
  16. Hi folks, Following on from the other threads about Civica charging ridiculous money (following takeover of NRS) what till systems do other schools use and recommend? I know previously that Cunninghams got a bad rap. Is that still the case? Ideally we're trying to find something that connects to Tucasi online payments. Thanks
  17. Hi folks, I want to move WSUS from a standalone server, to being installed on and managed on the SCCM server. Currently WSUS is targeted using GPOs. Post-install on SCCM, am I right in thinking that I remove the targeting GPOs, then create relevant Software Update Groups in SCCM? Thanks
  18. The issue has been logged with Veeam and it's not something they've flagged up. Veeam Support have said that Production checkpoints should work, as checkpoints seem to be the issue. I've done some testing over the weekend where I have switched to Standard checkpoints again, and now all is fine. With Production the checkpoint seems to hang when being created.
  19. Hi folks, We have a cluster with two hosts, which were updated along with our Veeam server to 2019 over the Easter hols. Since then we've had nothing but problems with Veeam and checkpoints; Veeam takes a checkpoint to backup, the checkpoint gets stuck partway through, Veeam fails to take a backup, and other VM features like live migration then fallover. It is tedious because it requires shutting down a host, waiting for the VMs to failover to the other host etc. A bit of research suggests switching from "Production" to "Standard" checkpoints, which I am going to test. Veeam Support say there shouldn't be any issue though with Production checkpoints and so far are just putting their hands up in the air and blaming Windows. Anyone else having this issue, and/or got any suggestions? Thanks
  20. No, Hyper-V. I did notice a VM related issue on another server, a network setting called "Enable virtual machine queue" turned off on one random VM I was using for testing (Server 2016). With that turned off sending the print job was also slow. That wasn't the issue for the problem server though. I logged with Sharp that I think the driver's at fault with Server 2019, and they suggested changing the queue type from RAW to LPR. That seems to have fixed it on 2019, but I still need to test fully.
  21. I've tested another two 2019 and 2016 servers. Slow on 2019, quick on 2016. Sounds like a bug! Will log it with Sharp tech support...
  22. I've tried it by forcing the issue on the printer (it's not listed as a compatible model), but it still sends the job slowly. Interesting that you mention the compatibility issue, because the server it's slow on is 2019, and the one where it's quick is 2016. I will test on another of our 2019 servers. Both the working and slow printers have the very latest drivers from Sharp.
  23. Actually, it doesn't have any! It's a freshly rebuilt server and I haven't got around to putting any on yet. Other printers are fine, although they use different drivers. It seems that some combination of this driver (which was migrated, along with all the other drivers) has caused this to break.
  24. I've done some more testing: - It's not anything network hardware-y. - If I connect a PC directly on the network port it works fine. - If I install the same driver and use the same port on our other print server it's fine. So bizarrely it seems to be the print server. I've deleted the printer, and the driver, and recreated it, but I note it doesn't ask for the driver again. So that means it's pulling the driver from somewhere locally, although I guess I could manually install the driver then try swapping the printer over, on the assumption it's a different version. It will be a right pain to rebuild the print server. I could map the PCs over to the other print server, but would rather keep it all organised.
  25. Wireless is definitely off. I was watching the print queues on the server and for large (100MB+) jobs it was creeping along compared to the other machine. I'll have a look at the cable as well. I'll start with testing the same job from one PC to both machines and see how that goes - contact sheet jobs from the Photos app seem to be a good test, because that generates very large print jobs for high res photos.
