The newer build of Windows 10 seems to have this built into the first run screen Might need to spool up another O365 trial to play around with it

Just tried this out of interest this morning and keep getting Trusted Site errors, despite having all the recommended domain wildcards added in the correct Site-to-zone assignment list btw: @zag with the issues above showing error code 67 make sure the Web Client service is running on the machine you're trying it from Edit: just looked at the source code of the OneDrive page and there's an additional domain in there not mentioned on the MS documentation (Step 2 on http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2507767 ) although it is listed on https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh373144.aspx under the SharePoint section... Add https://*.sharepointonline.com and it should at least get the website into Trusted Sites, haven't got any further than that yet

Now that Microsoft have finally provided an affordable Surface option they do need to get the price of that keyboard cover down. It's silly money for what it is and so integral to the experience of the device that it feels like MS are ripping the customer off with the pricing.

Finally Microsoft see the light, Atom in the original Surface chassis that doesn't cost the earth - looks like they've finally listened to what many of us said right at the start

@maniac nice work, I started stripping out the same bits from the code the other week, saves some work Out of interest with SSO does the drive stay active all the time? Was wondering about this as the original complaint with any of the mapping scripts was that the authentication times out and won't come back until the script runs again at next logon. In theory SSO might behave slightly differently but without running it live not sure either way.

That could get quite unfortunate results with the wrong (or right) set of keywords!

Stone for desktops Used to be Dell for laptops but they wouldn't supply with SSDs so last batch were Fujitsu; decent price, OK build quality but not brilliant. Lenovo would be another preferred option but I believe they've only just started shipping SSD models after seeing the demand at BETT for them

10.1" is fine, make it Surface Pro 3 thickness with a lower-mid range CPU, 64GB storage with SD card slot for expansion and sell for £500 with keyboard... job done That said many of us have said this from the start going back to when the original Surface came out, whether they've learnt by now is another question entirely

Hi @apearce thanks for replying Just searched the metaverse using the userPrincipalName for one of the affected users and they do appear in the search results. Double-clicking on the record that is found shows the contributing MA as "Active Directory Connector" and on the Connectors tab both the Active Directory and Windows Azure Active Directory connectors are listed. Edit: had a call back from Microsoft Support, looks like my initial theory was along the right lines and a Full Sync was what we needed. What the documentation doesn't mention is a slight addition to the end of the usual command:

One for @EduTech I think... We had an issue this morning with our source student data that led to some accounts being moved to an out-of-scope container in AD as far as DirSync is concerned. The deletion threshold kicked in as it should so fortunately it hasn't have an effect on those users in terms of their Office 365 accounts. The not-so-good bit is that we're still stuck with the deletion threshold reached and DirSync doesn't seem to have realised that we've since moved the objects back in scope (now back in their original OU). None of the documentation online refers to this scenario (only really deals with accounts that have been deleted rather than moved) so we're a bit unsure as to what the correct line of action is next. Venue 11 Pro's had keyboard issues on the first batch, also any non-Atom versions of them seem to be more problematic. Our Atom 11 Pros have been OK, bar the usual Windows 8 sign in issues (stupid design with Microsoft accounts). They're now available in the Dell refurb store under £200 which is a good deal. For cheap and cheerful the Linx 10 with keyboard cover is worth considering too. I have a Surface Pro 3 at home, costly but easily the best hybrid device out there.

Performance wise Linux beats Windows hands down for Moodle performance. There's a couple of places on a Moodle tech list I belong to that all moved away as Windows \ IIS couldn't handle heavier loads, no such issues with LAMP servers. If support is an issue and your site is quite small then you should be able to run it on Windows for simplicity but from a technical perspective I'd go Linux.

Also hoping the Office 365 account integration is better than the "device enrolment" method I've seen in another blog. Needs to be as simple as the Microsoft account logon to be effective. I'm getting more and more Windows tablets in and it's difficult to get them to straddle the line between being a managed device on the network whilst being mobile i.e. outside the domain.

Why have the icons turned into 1996-era clipart I have a feeling Windows 10 is going to be good on desktops, going back to the core market which is good in a way but looks a backwards step for tablet users.

Realistically you'd need more than one of them to be confident of having high availability. It does give you a lot more power in the same rack space though, great for stuff like VDI where affordable fast storage has been the problem until now. I do like the look of the Integrum, saw it at BETT and was rather impressed.

I just hope it retains the tablet navigation methods in Metro IE11. On my Surface Pro 3 I use it more than Chrome as it works so much better with touch input.

How they've managed to take the reliable Samsung HDD technology and either ignore it or turn it into the reputation above takes some skill (not in a good way!)
