We have them on the same tenant, a couple of insights into the pros and cons: All licensing is covered through our EES agreement, MS told me that if we had a second tenant we'd need another agreement DirSync works fine fro multiple OUs to the one tenant; the scenario of multiple OUs to different tenants via the same instance of DirSync was something MS warned me off doing as it could make a horrible mess if something goes wrong No issues with mixing staff \ students on Exchange, we've set up separate Address Book Policies for GAL separation SharePoint is a problem though, no way to separate data so any stray permissions or shared documents are potentially visible to students which is a concern. We tried restricting the search site via permissions but that seems to have reset at some point. Delve also brings another way to find documents that maybe otherwise wouldn't be seen. No Yammer here at present, is it integrated properly now as I remember the early versions being quite clunky in terms of how it talked to the rest of O365

Ah fair do's, the SSO would make the process seamless if you ever decide to go down that road. This does seem to be the most promising method of those I've seen so far though

Hi @Michael are you using ADFS for single sign-on or DirSync with Password Sync?

Actually I think it was on another OneDrive-related thread but this one is more current so good to have it posted again. Also works better in the condensed form without all the additional steps where it was mapping UNC paths, which seemed a bit pointless imo, the version above is plug and play

For some reason SharePoint and OneDrive keep coming up as Unknown Zone (Mixed) despite adding all the usual *.sharepoint.com addresses. Seems like based on the source code there's a CDN throwing it out but I can't get ODFB into Trusted Sites for love nor money at the moment Edit: actually something has changed from when I've tried this before, looks like MS have brought the CDN addresses in under their own URL now and the PowerShell script now works (we have SSO so just have to wait for the browser to auto-authenticate in the background) That's using the PowerShell script referenced a few pages back and condensed above. I've got a similar version of it that I was testing, almost identical to that posted by @JRowley above bar the position of the variables at the top.

Watch out for Microsoft throttling the upload bandwidth, that's what I've heard from some other people who have tried it so far Is that Work Folders using OneDrive somehow or just providing OneDrive-esque functionality but still using a classic Windows File Share as the data storage location?

It's MS trying to get everyone onto the same platform, I can't believe there's many people still running 8.0 (horrific user experience before the 8.1 update) so basically a token gesture there @Michael maybe I missed a post somewhere but what are you using for the OneDrive drive mapping? Is it the CloudMapper utility or that script referenced above? Provided you've got policies to prevent saving everywhere else (by mistake or otherwise) plus you're sure no programs running locally leave anything behind

You may be the only person I've ever seen on the Office 365 discussion forums who has a working sync client that they're happy with! I'm guessing your staff machines have quite big C: drives to store the local cache? That was our other concern on shared machines as our SSD drives fill up rather quickly.

Will be interesting to see how you get on with the sync client dealing with that much data, it's wobbly enough with a single user's data let alone a whole shared drive. For those using the Drive Mapper what are upload speeds like for larger files? I've heard people say uploads get throttled, which wouldn't surprise me given the current SharePoint back-end has to ingest the data being uploaded to it.

I'd hold off until the next-gen product based on that quote alone... This blog post sums it up pretty well I think: No you shouldn't be migrating to OneDrive for Business | Sharegate Migrating a shared area sounds like SharePoint functionality more than OneDrive, which is really a Documents folder replacement rather than mapped drives.

The thing I find amusing these days is the "features" where the DJ just happens to be telling you about a new programme on Netflix or perhaps an "amazing" new app but is clearly reading from a PR script so it sounds really wooden and contrived. Do people really fall for it without realising it's a pay for play ad?

Interestingly I feel the opposite, Win10 seems to feel like a compromise that doesn't really hit the spot in either camp of hardcore desktop Win7 users or Win8.1 tablet users, the UI still doesn't seem "there" as if Microsoft keep throwing ideas out there and hoping one sticks. Haven't particularly wanted to go back to my Win10 test machine after using it nor feeling inclined to upgrade my Surface Pro 3 (although may do it temporarily just to get the free license then see how it goes)

I'd heard about the rebrand, although not the deployment method. Will have to see if that feed is available as RSS like the Service Health Alerts as it's a pain to keep checking back on that page for updates. All ours are running SP1 but had a few odd issues this morning which I guess may be related to the recent updates, perfect for Monday morning

Watch out on your WSUS for this update, Microsoft have pushed it out as a critical update which rebrands Lync and on our machines seems to make it crash on startup. Odd that they've rebranded a single component of Office in this way, would usually expect something like that to be in the Updates or Feature Packs category

You can also use the free version of Centrify's hosted service to get SSO functionality with very little effort... Centrify Express We're using it for our Office 365 authentication as an alternative to setting up ADFS

Until now our SSO for Office 365 has been working perfectly but noticed an odd issue that's appeared in the last week or so: When on a domain PC Microsoft Office detects that we're running SSO and automatically signs the account into OneDrive for Business and SharePoint, which then appear in the Locations list when going to File > Open. However since last week any accounts that already have a profile on the machine now have a sign-in error in the top corner of the screen New profiles don't auto sign in any more and only show the default OneDrive and local options. If I try to add locations manually the process fails with "invalid account" error The only way to get the O365 account to sign in is to use the Switch Account button, then Add Account and enter username and password again Has anyone been experiencing anything similar?
