  1. Yeah the same here, common are: Where is such and such I am off ill today here is my cover work I have a flat for rent.
  2. Thanks for that, I have yet to find an EPG which is as good as BSkyB's Even the very good Freesat plus boxes I don't like, the EPG's seem to over complicate things but I guess you can get used to it after a while. Apparently new EU laws are coming in (which will force Sky as a result of the law to release recording functions) soon to close this loophole as many other manufactures get up to tricks with their products, but I saw that on the net about five years ago so I would not hold my breath. On another note, as the Sky boxes start to add more and more features, no doubt someone will hack one in the end, but that's illegal, so I would have to part in such a thing.
  3. I can't remember the exact loophole details. Its a loophole in EU law. Basically it is illegal under EU law to sell something described as a satellite recorder and then brick it (what sky do to their boxes). So Sky allegedly get around this by not defining their boxes as a "satellite recorder". As they do not describe it as a recorder they can block it without any issues. Sky also own the firmware on the box, and this is clearly described in the contract even when you buy the box. In the old days of the blue house cards, you could switch off the box, wait a few months and then have free recording functions, but this has been prevented with the white cards and firmware updates. And the blue house cards are all now disabled. Some Sky third party sellers will even say the recording never gets switched off, but it does. Years ago there was a very specific Sky plus box model which allegedly could be made by editing the firmware to allow free recordings, but all of these have no doubt died by now. I think it is illegal to do such a thing.

    Ebola

Such monitoring is not going to happen. They will just say "go in, stay in, tune in." (Although this guide to deal with emergencies now seems to have been scrapped.) http://www.cheshirefire.gov.uk/Assets/preparingforemergencies.pdf Ebola has a mortality rate of 70% in its current locations, in the UK it is likely to be lower. When I say a few thousands death I am talking about once it has been contained, everyone who is infected is found. It would never be 100% done but the majority of people can be found as long as it does not reach large pockets of the population, at which point it will have to be left to "run its course". Those who are not infected will have to stay that way and protect themselves, those that are infected, I am not sure what could be done. No one will be able to stop it. But I think that's highly unlikely.

    Ebola

I don't think a few thousand deaths would mean it is out of control. In the past with the flu outbreaks (in the early 70's for example). There were a couple of thousand people dying per week in the UK. PER WEEK. And flu is much easier to spread.
  6. Had it for a month or so I like it even though I hate iOS 7.

    Ebola

I think if it came to the UK it would not spread as quickly as it does in the countries its in at the moment (excluding the west). We are far more likely to wash our hands etc because the facility are ready available to us. If it does get in the the UK and the person walks around for 20 days without knowing they are infected, and then infects a load of British people, then I suspect there would be a few thousand deaths if it kept getting passed on and on, but it would not spiral out of control.
  8. Yes I liked it but thought it was a bit convenient, I think at least one of them should of got a baseball bat to the head in the scene before.
  9. An admin who has not updated since May 2013, who would be guilty of such a thing..........
  10. Looks quite good, I have yet to watch past the first episode of this series, can't stand his companion.
  11. You could try and find a lock screen app which might allow you to do it, If you have access to the machine with RM connect you could dig around and see how it works.
  12. They might of had RM Connect? But I have never seen it been done so far. You could change the background and add a banner on that, it depends if you want it to show details of each machine etc. Maybe this might be some help? http://stackoverflow.com/questions/21806822/add-message-to-logon-screen-windows-7
  13. Wait until the power is completely drained and then turn it back on.
  14. He would of known the risks and accepted them.
  15. Good when it works, but at times buggy. It has always been buggy. But it works and the support will help you with any issues.
  16. Very good, but the bottom of the page looks like its missing something, and also you can't click on the images of the school to make them bigger which would be nice. But the website as a whole is very good.
  17. Edit: I have just noticed this thread is old, oh well its info for anyone that wants to know. There are too many posts to read, but if you cancel Sky, all the recording functions on your Sky box will be switched off. You will not be able to play back any recording content or live pause. If you want to keep the recording functions without a Sky subscription you have to pay £11.15 per month. There was a time when you could switch off the box before cancelling and leave it off for a few months, the box would then miss the "turn off recordings" signal, but those days are long gone with the new firmware and cards. It is apparently against EU law to brick the box so it cannot record, but Sky allegedly use a loop hole to bypass this law. You can cancel and then go back to Sky at any time. There is no year limit as others have said. Sorry if this has already been said.
  18. Lucky you, When I left I never got a thing!
  19. We tried them out, was ok for the first three years then they all developed dead spots. Like others have said there are touchscreens now which we are considering instead off projectors.
  20. I have never seen an IBM server in use, apart from those from the early 00's which we have replaced. What does IBM do now then?
  21. Not used it yet but think it will go down OK with consumers. Depends how the start menu works. If all is OK we will be sending it out next summer.
  22. Year 7/8 get shown how to use it in my place and teachers send out homework to all their students. I would start there and in a couple of years all of them will be on it. By year 9 its too late. Might as well talk to a brick wall when it comes to teaching instructions.
  23. Most of the primary's I have worked in did not have a server room, just servers stacked up on top of a normal table without a rack. Slowly getting these sorted but schools are reluctant as they say its working fine why touch it. If you have a school with money then you can get a new room built, air con installed, new racks etc, if they have no money go down B and Q and buy a portable air con unit.
  24. My parents started to get milk delivered, but people kept thieving it. London I guess.
  25. Yeah I would un-install 64 bit office and put 32 bit on. I have seen warnings on the volume licensing download about using 64 bit office.
