As I said in passing, the LEA don't provide a totally unfiltered feed at all - even the "unfiltered" one that I'm (blue sky) thinking of connecting the ISA server to has pornography and other unpleasantness blocked, but does allow access to social networking, forums etc., which is where I see Securus's keyword based monitoring and capturing completing the loop.

After seeing a lecture by Russel Prue of andertontiger.com (and what a lecture it was - if you ever get the chance to see him jump at it), I'm considering recommending turning off the internet filters as far as we can (our LEA has two categories of filtering - one heavier than the other - the lighter one allows youtube and social networking but blocks pr0n) and using an active monitoring system such as Securus instead. Any thoughts?

Probably true, but in the bigger picture a headline grabbing protest like that might provoke some government action with a general election coming up...

I found a Kyocera fs1020D printer under a pile of junk that was getting recycled. it's now on my desk, working perfectly. Previous Tech must have put it there at least 4 years ago! The 1996 HP Laserjet 6p that was on my desk can now can now be used elsewhere:rolleyes: as I've got the 1020D - the D stands for DUPLEX:D

First things I'd try: Can the ISA server ping the upstream proxy? Put the ip of the proxy in instead of the name to rule out DNS trouble

What I'm about to say may strike you as odd - mad even - but I believe it to be true: [tin_hat] You don't need to do fire registers. If there are likely to be more than more than a certain number of people (~15 iirc) in a building then the fire brigade will search the entire building regardless. [/tin_hat] That was certainly the advice we were given when I was on the sims helpdesk and electronic registration was just beginning to kick in. Check with your LEA Health and safety, or anyone else, by all means, but I BELIEVE this to be correct. That said, we do registers here - it definately helps to keep the kids under control - but it doesn't matter if they're not spot-on up to date
