I tried to deploy 3.5 with a GPO (to the whole site) and it broke SIMS I then had to do another GPO to uninstall 3.5 and reinstall 2.0 - which worked but was time consuming

He usually is right - but he's also a nutter:D I've got a great photo of him somewhere cutting into an empty calor gas cylinder with an angle grinder cutting it in half to make a barbecue

With any other vehicle I'd have done that already I actually bought the Vitara partly because it's easy to work on and fiddle with - there's loads of room in the engine bay - space for a V6 and it's only got a 1.6 -you can almost climb in and stand next to it - that and I'm saving hard to get away on holiday this year and money's tight but I'll have a look around

That's what worried me (hence this question) I must admit - unless it's a reaction with the air on the outside of the leak that enables it to solidify???? LOL stick an egg in it was my dad's advice too - I thought he was taking the ! So we have 3 against and 4 for... The jury's still out on this one! if it helps sway the balance, it loses about a pint a week and if I squeeze the top hose I can JUST make it drip visably/squirt a tiny bit. I'm not averse to scrapyards either - but with a radiator I'd be worried about getting one with more holes in it than the one I've got now!

Afternoon, As there's a few amateur mechanics around here I'll ask this car-related question: I've got a leak in the radiator of my Suzuki Vitara and I'm considering trying K-seal ( Welcome to K-seal.co.uk where you can purchase K-seal, Seal-up, & Quiksteel online... ) in it. Does anyone have any experiences, good or bad, of it or anything similar (Radweld etc.)?

@Localzuk Are there any system requirements that you're aware of? It's running great on my (decent) laptop and (more than decent) desktop machine, but crashing out on the (old and slightly decrepid Duron 1.1GHz with 256MB Ram and an ATI Radeon7000 Video card - on XP SP2) machine that runs the powerpoint display. Not a huge problem as we'll be replacing it soon anyway - but if there's something I need to install on it to get it to work I'll do it. Now that's useful! Instead of staff bugging me to change the powerpoint running in Reception and the dining room, I'll run this from a folder on the staff shared area and they can put the photos/slides in themselves:D

Is it your first PM? If not, get a copy of your last one and see what your targets were on that - that's what you'll be evaluated against. Also a good idea to have some sensible, achievable targets in mind for next year (stuff you plan to do anyway works best).

Use a GPO to set their desktop pictures to a JPG of the message - I've done that with our acceptable use policy

Strangely, after the department that they came from were informed (a) of the last 10 users that had logged in to it and (b) that they would be charged for the replacement unless they could find a guilty pupil to bill, the missing keys turned up:rolleyes:

It's a small school 11-16, NOR 370 or so, normally a 3 form entry but next year Yr7 is only 2 You get a whole different set of problems with a school this small - loads of part time staff, limited flexibility within blocks etc. but it's done now - meeting with the Deputy Head on Wednesday to refine a few bits where we can If anyone's got any kids going spare, we'll take them - PM me for an application form:cool: Just got an "Outstanding" OFSTED, too:D Yeah, fire over the .spl and I'll see what I can do:rolleyes: (just kidding!)

What's the best value / cheapest camcorder that has an external mic socket and accesory shoe? We're after one this summer. In terms of spec the Canon Legria FS306 looks about the level we're after, apart from not having the above. Any recommendations / suppliers?

For me it didn't, but what it doesn't take into consideration your individual MP. The main reason I vote the way I do is for HIM not for his party as he's an absolute star! that is the main reason I'm against PR - I like being able to choose WHO I want to represent me and not just which party they come from as the two don't always tally.

just a quick question - when Adobe products are listed with a price for "Education Box" - what do you get in the (presumably physical) box? I'm looking at Premiere Elements and the Education box price is cheaper than the single license:confused: Adobe's website isn't much help on this either! It also bugs me that you have to buy 100 copies before you can do concurrent licensing:mad: we only need 20 or so and it would be so much easier if I could put it in the standard image

For the purposes you mention, Atoms will be fine - we've got 80 of the wee beasties here now, a mixture of lenovo, Asus and Toshiba and the kids and staff alike think they're the best thing since sliced bread. as long as you've goto a gig of Ram they perform just as well as the 2 year old celerons in the Acer curriculum laptops. They'll even run SIMS more than adequately; I've had several staff requesting netbooks rather than laptops for their next teacher laptop.

Well, that's a start - does anyone know what will convert a .avi to a .swf? I gave it a go with a .flv file using that method but it didn't work

Anyone know how to get a video (.avi at the moment but I can convert it to whatever) to embed into a powerpoint 2003 presentation, so the video file is not needed separately? Our Y7s have a competition to make a virtual tour of the school - the winner goes on the website - but I want to put a .pps up for downloading rather than having to bundle the .pps with the video in a zip, then provide instructions for unzipping etc.
