Net-Ctrl replied to Net-Ctrl's topic in Our Advertisers
Thank you for taking part in it all. So, with our final winner announced that brings our activities to a close I've had fun making them all up, and I hope those of you that took part found them to be a nice small break from your working day. As i have mentioned before, we wanted to run these activities to announce our Ruckus partner status, but also as a way to say thank you to the Edugeek community.- 35 replies

Hello all, Thanks again for taking the time to take part in this final activity, it was certainly the most enjoyable to put together. My Managing Director, Tony Pullon, has taken to the stage again for this weeks draw. The answer we were looking for were: 1. Spunky – Rocko’s Modern Life 2. Rude dog - Rude dog and the Dweebs 3. Brain - Inspector Gadget 4. Spike - Rugrats 5. Muttley - Wacky Races 6. Scrappy Do – Scrappy Doo and Scooby Doo 7. Dug - Up 8. Astro - The Jetsons 9. Hector the Bulldog - Looney Tunes 10. Huckleberry Hound – The Huckleberry Hound Show 11. Brian Griffin - Family Guy 12. Clifford - Clifford the Big Red Dog 13. Spot - Spot the Dog 14. Droopy - Droopy 15. Pluto - Mickey Mouse After evidence was given towards answer 2, we decide to also accepted 'Clay'. We did also review how close Hector and Spike were for answer 9, but decided to go with just Hector (sorry to anyone who put Spike). We had a number of people get all 15 correct, who were all entered into the draw. Without any further delay, the winner of our final Ruckus dog giveaway was: @win Please send me your preferred shipping address on a PM, and i will get this sorted for you asap Thank you again to everyone that took part in this activity and those over the last few weeks- 35 replies

Ruckus Wireless EDU Promotion to end 30th September
Net-Ctrl replied to Net-Ctrl's topic in Our Advertisers
I just wanted to quickly refresh this post. Their is still time to take advantage of the Ruckus promotion. If you're unsure on the number of APs for your site, you can send me some accurate site plans and we will conduct a free predictive site survey. Any questions, please feel free to ask. -
The final activity is now here and I wanted to do something a bit different to the previous two weeks. This week’s activity is called ‘Name that Hound’, below you will find a selection of dogs that have graced our screens over the years. The question is, how many can you name? Points are only scored for getting the dog’s name. I hope this will be a slightly nostalgic trip for some, I know I enjoyed putting them all together Same rules as before, please PM me your answers, or if it’s easier email me at [email protected]. Please also comment on the thread once you have PM’d/emailed so I can cross reference all the entries. The winner of the final Ruckus dog will be announced on Friday. Good luck! The Rules Over the Summer Net-Ctrl achieved the top partner status with Ruckus Wireless, we’re now classed as an ‘Alpha Dog’ partner. This is a level that only a few companies in the UK have achieved. To be classed as an ‘Alpha Dog’ we were required to complete various sales and technical exams, and demonstrate our competence with the Ruckus solution and knowledge of the wireless environment. What this means to you is that we should be able to offer a better price than other non-alpha dog partners, and it should also provide you with the security in knowing that you’re dealing with a trusted Ruckus reseller. We wanted to celebrate our new status with you all, by running a series of activities where you could win one of three highly elusive large Ruckus dogs. How will it work? Every Monday for the next two weeks we will launch a new activity that will test your eyes, mind and memory. You will have until the following Friday at 10.30 to send in your answers and enter. Every EduGeek member is only allowed one entry into each weekly activity. All correct entries will be put into a hat and we will choose a winner at random. The new owner of the Ruckus dog will be announced during Friday afternoon. How can I enter? To be entered into the draw all you need to do is send your answer(s) for the weekly activity on a PM to this account and then comment on the thread to let me know you have done so. (This will help me cross-reference everyone’s entries, to ensure I haven’t missed anyone out.) This is exclusively for EduGeek and open to everyone with an account that is UK based (Ruckus dogs are afraid of flying, anyone not in the UK, if you have a UK address you can still enter) Phew..I think that covers everything...any clarifications needed, or anything i have missed, please let me know - - - Updated - - - I'm going to be out of the office today, so i will came back to any questions and entries tomorrow morning

Net-Ctrl replied to Net-Ctrl's topic in Our Advertisers
Thank you to everyone that entered our ‘Ruck-U Quiz’. There were a high number of correct entrants again this week, a big thank you to all those that took part. Unfortunately Mark Power was out of the office today, so we have a new host for our draw, Tony Pullon, the managing director of Net-Ctrl This weeks draw went a little like this: We have our last activity next week, which we hope will bring a sense of nostalgia to the table. We will be taking a trip down memory lane with some famous dogs that have graced our screens over the years. The question is, how many will you be able to identify? We will also be giving away our final Ruckus dog. Just as a reminder we’re doing these give-aways as a thank you to the EduGeek community and to celebrate our new top tier partner status with Ruckus. Anyway, congratulations @bertster please PM me your preferred shipping address and I’ll get your new pet in the post- 10 replies

Thank you to everyone that entered our ‘Ruckus in the park’ competition. There were 49 dogs that have all been safely found and rescued from the park and returned home to Ruckus HQ. We had a number of entrants with the correct answer. I had asked Mark Power to draw the winner, and he insisted on being filmed. So, without any further delay, please watch Mr Power draw the winner… Mark is currently sitting downstairs waiting for his Oscar nomination We will be running some more activities over the next two weeks for your chance to take home your own Ruckus dog. We’re doing these give-aways as a thank you to the EduGeek community and to celebrate our new top tier partner status with Ruckus. Anyway, congratulations @DBi – please PM me your preferred shipping address and I’ll get your new pet in the post. I have been working on some commands, and you will be happy to know he has mastered ‘Stay’, still working on the others. -

Hello all, Just a quick one, the latest Ruckus Wireless education promotion is due to expire on the 30th September. The promotion allows us to build you a personalised wireless bundle, as long as it meets certain criteria, and provides some great savings off the RRP. You have the flexibility to mix the AP models, which include the 11Ac R700, the enterprise 7982 and the 7372 access points. If you’re thinking about getting a wireless solution, or would like a competitive price put forward, as long as you’re not already registered with Ruckus by another partner, we can get a price over to you. If you’re unsure on the AP count we can run a free of charge predictive site survey as long as you have a set of accurate site plans that you’re able to send across, with a brief description of your environment and wireless goals. We will use specialist software to build a set of heat maps and predict signal strength, signal-to-noise ratio (based on channel overlap), PHY rates, signal coverage and data rates. All this will help us determine the optimal number of Ruckus access points for your site. Any questions please feel free to PM me and I will come back to you ASAP.
