Interesting thread, I was intending to wipe my 20 ipads this holiday and create apple ID's for each one as the Meraki + VPP codes has got all confused but may just leave it. I only use the mac mini for this so the learning curve is steep.

Strangely using the VLAN for just the Chromebooks cameback with a ping of 100+ via speedtest, on the main network default vlan with security was 20

I am on 9.7.0.0 220. I suppose I need to do some more testing as the iPads downloading IOS 7 wasn't flying but it didn't time out

Hi, I am having issues with a class full on Chromebooks and my ruckus network. It seems to be when a lot are attaching and the connection drops out. The 7363 is 10 feet away and its fine with my windows phone. The Chromebooks attach to the internet through Smoothwall on a separate VLAN with allocated IP's from the SW box set to transparent access to the internet. The Ruckus have no security just mac filtering. Baffled why this is an issue, I have set the CB's to not pre-fetch (setting on the CB's) which I thought was the solution. I thought the CB would whizz along but they are garbage at present.

Which is the million dollar question, I mentioned I was updating to Office 2013 in the summer so staff want it too... be easier if M$ offered a subscription option in OVS

Morning, Does anyone know if you can deploy Office 2013 to staff like they are allowing students to with the Office 365 Student Advantage Link. I just had a play with the Home Use thing on the Volume licensing page and it just directs you to the Microsoft HUP £8.95 page. Do we still have to get them to bring their computers in for me to install it on them? Seems a shame when the subscription bit of Office 2013 seems to work fine. PS. Does anyone use the training programs, I had a play last week but it seems a pain to set up.

Morning, Has anyone used the Meraki MDM for their chromebooks? I have enabled the API and they have all shown up in the devices but its pretty useless up to now. I was hoping it would show me who was logged on etc but I might be impatient.

Hi, I was using my QNAP as a plain old iSCSI for my DPM but its not needed anymore so have it as spare capacity. Updated to the latest firmware and there is a lot of new stuff but wondered what people are using theres for. Mine is a 8TB unit which I intended to just use it again as a iSCSI and move same staff accounts over that are huge.

I think the school could do with getting Prime, I may use the movies myself though.

Hi, Our music teacher has asked about music technology at A level an was wondering what sort of kit other schools have in place. I hear some have full blown music studios but curious what sort of money has been spent on this stuff. We are looking to replace the computers in there over the summer so we are planning now. Morning, Jus curious how other schools are using the Protection groups to backup. I had to reinstall mine so thought I would redo the schedules. I currently backup the Hyper-V's every other day 3 on one day, 3 the next and a nightly backup of all my data, my SQLs and the exchange data. I then backup to tape over the weekend with a 3 month retention. Sound ok?

Hi, Bit of a odd one, I bought a chromecast device to have a play with but for some reason when I go to find the device he windows opens right over to the left of the screen so I can't do anything with it. Can't drag it across or maximize it... happens on them all too. Anyone seen this or has a obvious solution. Got it working with my W7 laptop but the shared image is pants, all the colours are washed out.

Hi, Just got one of these and I cant get it to connect to my internet. Has anyone got it working through Smoothwall? The code comes up but the thing doesn't attach to my internet. Its on a static IP that goes through transparently.

Don't think it exploded if I recall, just popped. Might take it apart and have a look for the shards.

Hi, I have a Acer S5200 projector which has some blurring in the middle of the screen. The bulb was replaced 6 months ago and I have wiped the lens but its still rubbish, when the projector is on you can see the lens is not perfectly clear. Has anyone replaced the lens on these before? Not sure if I can get spares for it (or its feasible)

I have used Firestreamer for several years and its very good, never missed a beat. Just load up the config for 20 slots on the USB drive, lock the door in DPM and away it goes.

Some of mine sync automatically but not sure how. I think its because the sync apps is enabled and I use the same iTunes account. Does for some and not for others though.. and it messes up the VPP codes.
