Been on to Ruckus for an hour trying to fix my system after a failed update on one controller resulted in the flashing red light of doom and the other one wouldn't ping at all after the update. Tried loads of stuff and got to the stage of an RMA which would have been an issue as nothing could connect because of the autonomous settings I had set (accidentally) Anyway to cut to the chase. I decided to get out my USB to serial cable and connect to the controller via that and reboot it from there.... and the first one with the flashing light started working perfectly again with the update all done... weird. Then I did the other one (not putting 2 and 2 together and the status light which was off came on and I was able to ping it and it started working again. I can't believe its a coincidence as there was a good half hour between these and the red light was flashing for a good half hour before that. WTF???

Hi, I put one of these beasts on the wall in the last holidays and eventually got it playing nicely with our network. Am I right in thinking you cant install any Google apps on it? I was hoping the built in Android would work with our Meraki MDM and let me push stuff out but I couldn't get it working. Its in the nursery at our school so doesn't need much on it... was hoping to not have a computer near it. Have a spare Chromecast device so might have a play with that too.

I am probably going to let it run after the trial to see how much it is. Got it working (apart from exchange 2013 which isn't supported so I have to change my protection groups). Not a huge school but its up to 350GB. The way it lists the backups on the web is weird, doesn't show them as VHDs with the correct names so its pretty much a dumb storage system.. everything is controlled in house.

Well that was a waste of money, stupid things keep resetting and the signal is awful, its not working as a repeater at all. Have to try a different one.

Morning, Is anyone using Azure with DPM in anger yet? I've managed to get it working on a months trail but unsure of the costs as the calculations are a bit weird. It does look very slick and after a bit of head scratching I have it uploading bits of data.

Hi, Can someone recommend me a wifi bridge (?) so I can connect a lan enabled TV to the WFI at school. It needs to be small and hopefully USB powered, looked at this but not sure if it will do what I want. TP-Link 300Mbps High Gain Wireless N USB Adapter It will need to connect to my ruckus network, trying to get my head round this.

We got 20 last year and they haven't been out of the box. Tried to work out a simple way to use a room for dual purposes with splitters etc. but I really don't want kids unhooking cables. Also our monitors aren't HDMI so need a converter.

We have 30 in our junior school which they have decided aren't fit for purpose. We have the Samsung ones and I just bought some lovely plastic cases for them to colour coordinate. Think its political more than anything. Not had much issues really except when an update changed the default logon language to US..... took weeks to fix. Good I you embrace Google Apps

I had Sophos 5 years ago which had a big mem footprint but loved the console.. moved to ESET and it was fine but the console was awful, now using Vipre.... console is good and small memory footprint... very basic for end user.

Evening all, Can't find this on here but hope someone can help. I ended up reinstalling my RDP server onto 2012 (very sexy) bu can't remember how to change the SIMS.INI to get NOVAT to work... it comes up with an incorrect SIMS.INI error, the rest of SIMS is fine. Anyone know?

Hi, I've been putting off doing VLANS for a while now but I think I need to now I am doing BYOD. I have a vlan setup but no intervlan routing yet which works fine as I don't need it but have hit a snag with VLANs and Ruckus controllers. When I use a VLAN and the ruckus sign in page it doesn't load up... which I imagine is because the controller is not on the right VLAN... so my question is, will this ever work without intervlan routing setup??? I am all netgear and struggle getting the vlans routing working in the GUI and hate CLI stuff. I have the routing setup in the GUI but its not working yet

I am in a similar boat. I have no inter vlan routing setup but have a separate VLAN for some of the chromebooks. The other VLAN is just set up on wireless so the WIFI ports are set to trunks. The only bit I change the PVID is on my smoothwall port for the second VLAN

Hi, I've been using HAP for a few years just as a remote file access server but fancy expanding. I recently updated to V10.2 (perfect update) but I can't get any of the other bits working. Clicking Helpdesk or Booking I get There is no such object on the server I updated recently and only left in the HAPconfig files so all the files should be there. Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

Hi, I have read all the stuff about this on here and am still at a pickle. I have created 2 new VLANS on my SW box which work great if I have no security on the Ruckus AP. I am getting different IP's and the SW is sending the traffic out on the cables I want but I would like to try and use WPA Enterprise. My Ruckus is set up with a AAA server pointing to the SW box and a simple secret password. When I try from a laptop with the authentication enabled to core auth it just times out. When I test the connection on the Ruckus Controller is comes back with an error although this is stated as normal on the SW documentation. RADIUS authentication failed; username: k_baird, access point: 192.168.10.179 I must be missing something really obvious here. Is it just the controllers that need to be setup in the SW WPA section or all the APs? Spent this morning doing a room. I do enjoy getting my hands dirty. Really happy with it, 2 sheets of MDF 1800 x600 (cut to 1600 by B&Q) and some deep battons. The MDF went over the dado nicely and looks very smart. The SB covers the MDF so you can only see it from the side. 1 more to do tomorrow, problem is the projector has no keystone so I either have to lower the mount or put the board higher up

Hi, I've installed loads of these at school and even one on a trolley (made of gold for what I paid for it) but have a couple to put up in rooms with wainscoting which I can't remove. I did find some brackets to protrude the board but they are all American sites. Has anyone done something like this before. If I protrude the bracket its going to flex the board too much so maybe some chipboard behind it to step it out ??? Brackets would be a lot easier though.
