Morning, Anyone else experienced hives? I was playing with my kids last night and noticed underneath my guns (ha) my skin was all bobbly and blotchy... I took off my shirt and it was all over... I looked like the singing detective.. ish. Weird thing is an hour later I was back to normal. no idea what the trigger was as nothing has changed in my routine. I presume it was hives.. I am a GP (Google Practitioner) so self diagnosed. I cant take credit for that reference, it was on The News Quiz last week.

Hi, A long shot as I went for the insider build to get windows 10 on a Lumia 635 but after last nights update I can only text in landscape mode, in portrait it doesn't show the keyboard or gie you the option to add a message... if you reply the keyboard covers the thing your typing. Anyone else seen this?

Hi, I've had this issue a while and cant get my head round what it is.. I keep finding what I think is a cause but then something else messes up. I have a DPM server backing up my servers, its always been reliable until recently. Only changes are my AV but its not that (I am almost 50% sure) When I do a backup it can hang at 0% for hours, I have to reboot the client to get it back working, this is my home folder drives so its a pain... oh and shadow copy stopped working. I've reinstalled this server so I cant see it being the OS. After its backed up I click on the vhd in DPM and I get the same window on all my servers about dpm cannot browse as it contains a dynamic (it doesn't) , no volume (it has) etc... What I found today was a new server which I migrated my SIMS across to has been doing ILR for a week.. until I added the DPM client to the OS so I could do a backup of the SQL. This has never been an issue before and when I look at my other servers its the same issue, I have an exchange server where I backup the mailboxes separately... same error. I was worried the DPM wasn't backing up my data as the vhds didn't contain data but I have recovered them and they are fine. Anyone seen this? I don't think its a DPM issue.. its that lovely VSS service.

The TCP thing worked.. eventually although it took a long time to work it out. you have to edit the xml file first, restart the service then go into sims and change it in there.. changing to tcp just in sims doesn't work. Sims support were connected to my PC for almost 3 hours

What I have found is if I mess up the Document server link and save it then the user flies in so it must be something to do with that. I've just removed my staff test account from all my redirection OUs and its still really slow. So permission accessing the DMS? Sims permissions? need to go home and test further.

It was doing it with SQL 2008 also but I've stuck it in compat mode anyway and ordered the patches to reindex. Its only happening for staff, as a admin its perfick.

Hi, I have a school full of slow SIMS logons at present and I am not sure how to fix it (waiting for Sims to get back to me again). It all started when I changed the document server to a IP address, I was told to do this to fix a user not being able to access documents. This resulted in super slowdown so a teach changed it back and it seemed to work but everyone is having issues with it now. I 'think' its to do with the check that Sims does when it starts up as when I removed it from the group policies and just left it in the plain users part of the directory it loads up in seconds. My folders are redirected and it doesn't like how my libraries are setup.... possibly but nothing has changed in the past 3 months so no idea why its tizzy fitting now. Anyone seen this? I migrated to SQL2014 on a new server too (which was so much fun) which hasn't helped the speed.

Remote Desktops, RDP is fine. I've installed Remote Desktop Connection manager now. Much better

Hi, I've been using 10 at home and due to a my work PC failing I decided to install Windows 10. Problem is I installed EDU when I could do with Enterprise or Professional as I need Remote Desktops. Anyone managed to do this? I've tried entering a new product key and some long winded DISM version upgrade but neither worked. I really don't want to reinstall.. its taken me all day to set this up

Hi, I've been playing with this for a week now (oh the joy) and just wondered if anyone is using the hybrid facility. I've hit a wall at the moment where it seems I have 2 mailboxes visible and the mail is not syncing when I log onto the cloud section. All the settings are passing between them as far as I can tell.

We use ClaroRead on a USB stick. It works great... except on password protected PDFs which some of the past papers were. We contacted the exam board for different versions for the live test. £82 per stick

Its version 6. All the issues I am having started when I put ESET on my server so I am at the stage where I am going to replace it on my servers. Its a massive coincidence that my issues begun at the same time as I installed this on. There's no exceptions for the DPM server, TechNet helped but my VSS have all gone haywire on a few of the servers which is weird.

Anyone ever called their accounts department? It sounded like it was recorded in a bathroom on a phone from 1986. Don't use them anymore unless I am desperate as they have outsourced a lot of their stuff abroad.

Hi, I am sure its just little old me but I am having no end of issues with ESET. I am sat here after rebuilding a server again with the ESET MAIN GUI taking up 99% of the CPU... again. ESET have asked for logs and dumps which I am getting together but does anyone use it with Hyper-V and have you had to change anything in the rules as they already have loads of exceptions already setup. I also run DPM which it seems to have had a tizzy fit with too. Has anyone disabled real-time and just used scheduled scanning? I had this setup with Vipre (oh I miss you) but I don't trust ESET yet.. although it has been very good on the clients finding nasties and especially emails.

Still broken, it did start working but has fallen back to being rubbish. I was tempted to move one of my fibre lines away from BT

Right so here goes. I bought a Draytek modem so I could bypass the BT modem and smoothwall to go some testing (its pain that I only managed to get this working with 1 day left). And guess what.. it worked FFS So on the Draytek I put the exact same assigned IP address I was using on the Smoothwall to connect to my server and managed to connect on 80 and 443. Sooooo, its either a major coinkydink that the BT issues fixed themselves or there is an issue with my Smoothwall which got copied across when I rebuilt the Smoothwall box. Sat at home the port forwarding through SW fails but works through Draytek... its a different Fibre line but both are with BT.

Had my first chat with BT.. they said they do not block any ports, so will try again tomorrow. Today I thought I would try to use the BT router to do the port forwarding... but the POS they provided doesn't do port forwarding for static IP's if you don't use their DHCP. All this seemed to start when the BT network went down a couple of months ago (I think). I'll contact BT tomorrow, I am not holding my breathe though. I'll keep the traces when its working on my OWA and see if its different to when it doesn't work.

Do you have anything to do with BT at your place?

Just checked 10 and they are BT and SKY.

Problem is I cant ask the users to change ISP. I have collected their IP's so might be able to find out their ISPs and see if there is a pattern.
