Impact Cashless Catering - consolidate to one server?
Jaan replied to ashjeaton's topic in How do you do....it?
Fusion doesn't need BioStore no. It uses IDstore instead; I seem to remember we needed the new till as we had old epos XP machines didn't meet the requirements of fusion here's a convo i had with cunninghams about this; The engineer called me earlier asking about the new server (high-end client PC), if everything was to be migrated on to this machine. I believe he’s making a head start installing the backend iDstore is our own software which replaced Biostore and does essentially the same thing, but we have more control. I’ve checked our central system and don’t have Biostore listed as an asset any more, I assume this was removed when the school was updated to iDstore. -
does this fully tie in with MCAS ? or do you use a payment gateway Biostore Fastrack have provided
-
You retained the till you were using with Cunninghams?

Same response i'm getting from Cunninghams

Impact Cashless Catering - consolidate to one server?
Jaan replied to ashjeaton's topic in How do you do....it?
We did this. also had the same setup as you before. We upgraded to cunninghams "fusion" and everything is now self contained on a physical "kitchen server" (high spec client pc). This has bitlocker enabled and backups as per another server does here. Cunninghams did this for us after we provided a computer/os/AV software. there was cost for the migration. -
Hi all, Anybody using Bromcom along with Cunningham's? I'm trying to find out if it's a seamless integration. E.g parents can top up from the parents payments section in bromcom (or students via the top up terminals). Then both of which sync to the cashless cunninghams system and the balances can be viewed with in bromcom. I've asked the question to both Cunninghams and bromcom...... and i feel like the question is being tiptoed around. Anybody actually using these two system who can explain how you have it set up? thanks

Same reason i've not removed it yet. Finance! -
We just had email from Google saying that Google services will soon stop supporting ie11. This got me thinking of when is best to remove it...... was thinking applocker rather than removing to be honest. So...... have you remove it yet?

[bromcom] SIMS to Bromcom User defined fields & linked documents migration
Jaan replied to Jaan's topic in MIS Systems
Thanks guys, User defined fields sorted as described above. Now it's the linked documents. Import doesn't seem to be an issue....... it's getting them out of SIMs that is. Think i'll start another thread titled "How do i extract linked documents from SIMs so they can be imported to Bromcom". Somebody must have done it as part of the migration. -
Not an answer to the question you asked..... But you can install a chromebook extension for AD auth https://support.sophos.com/support/s/article/KB-000038431?language=en_US

How do I automatically assign products to users in Adobe Control panel?
Jaan replied to Jaan's topic in Educational Software
Interesting.... i'm syncing a OU in our Google admin panel not user groups. This was to get SSO to work. It does work.... if i assign a product to a user (in adobe) that has synced, they can access it........ but i seem to need to manually add all of the users. EDIT: i've not actually installed anything to sync users/ user groups -
How do I automatically assign products to users in Adobe Control panel?
Jaan replied to Jaan's topic in Educational Software
My users have a two way arrow which i assume is because they have been synced from the Google admin panel. -

Thanks for the reply. But my user groups are empty, i guess my question should have been, how do i automatically add new users to a user group in adobe admin panel? -

awesome i'll take a look at that. How about linked documents? Export documents based on UPN then import to bromcom with manual mapping. -
[bromcom] How did you remove SIMs from client machines once you migrated?
Jaan replied to Jaan's topic in MIS Systems
Nope thats a big help. most of the machines in Solos are activity removed if nolonger used so 99% of the agents are online. Thanks again -
[bromcom] How did you remove SIMs from client machines once you migrated?
Jaan replied to Jaan's topic in MIS Systems
I thought this just removed it from solus and left the solus agent, Sims, Discover etc in place? EDIT: Nope it removes the client!...... well i'm still learning new things with SIMs even though we are moving away from it! Thanks! -
We are creating a road map here for our Bromcom implementation. I've been asked to remove staff access from SIMs once we are using live data in Bromcom. We want to keep the Sims server up and running until the license expires, just IT admin access. I need to speak with our data (SIMS) manager here yet, but he's offsite. How did you guys initially remove SIMs access to users, then remove sims from the client machines? Removing shortcuts from our start menus and blocking it with applocker i guess is one option, along with disabling them in Sims? Never had to uninstall sims as a whole before. Not sure i've seen that option in Solus Any input will be appreciated.

Google Meet - Can students access external Google Meets?
Jaan replied to Jaan's topic in Cloud Services
Ah ok that makes sense... now that you've said it is enforced by google i seem to recall something in a blog about it maybe. -
I know we have prevented them from creating a Google meet with their school account. Can we prevent them from join a external meet? Eg a student creates a google meet using a @gmail.com account and invites a student with a @schooldomain.com account. i can't seem to find this option in the Admin panel. EDIT: I've just managed to test this.... i created a meet on a domestic account and invite a test student account. Its unable to connect "You are unable to join this meeting on you school/EDU account, please use another google account". So that's good....... i'll be damned if i know where i have enforced that??
