Can I take that to mean you are one of the chosen ones who hasn't had an issue with printing? There isn't much on t'internet as of yet, but there wasn't last month, or the month before either (sometimes I think it is only me left with an issue). But there is an ongoing discussion here: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/759880/kb5006670-network-printer-problems-again-this-month/?p=5295880 To be honest I don't even know what 'the issue' is anymore... just a cycle of updates>no print>remove updates>print>wait a month>updates>no print>remove updates... I don't even think it is related to the September 'print nightmare' anymore really (only that what they're doing to 'fix' it kills printing even more), we all worked around that - but something they did after that I can't seem to work around no matter what I do. There is some talk of 'feature overrides' and 'spool dlls' but I was just hoping they would fix it, without having to implement any workarounds... EDIT: Also still some talk of printing being forced to use NTLM (which is blocked on our Domain)... From one of the posts in the above mentioned thread: "Still doesn't make sense, everything I see in the win10 trace points to the client forcing NTLM SSP which all requires SMB V2+" Also: "It appears that the Windows 10 December CU (KB5008212) removes the following registry key from the print server: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print] "RpcAuthnLevelPrivacyEnabled"=dword:00000000"

Well, '2021-12 Cumulative update' has arrived on our WSUS servers... Grumbles on the internet say it hasn't fixed anything - anyone been brave enough to try it? Rumour has it that 2004, 20H & 21H were fixed with out of band updates earlier (which I presume will be included in the 'Cumulative' anyway), so really interested in anyone running lower versions...

Doesn't that only apply to those with the appropriate licenses? I guess not everyone has those... It's been a while and a lot has happened since then, but I seem to remember looking at the quarantined messages, where they came from and what rule in the Exchange admin center was using to block them (if it comes from a different domain or says that 'an admin in your organization has set up a spam rule')... I think that MS are still making changes to the way it deals with spam/phishing so it could be that they have done something that has started blocking them again... Sorry I can't be more help!

As far as I can tell the recent updates that addressed the errors were only for 20H & 21H and above... nothing has been fixed for any lower versions as far as I know. It's a strange one and I'm not sure if Microsoft are particularly happy about their security fixes (random hole plugging) being largely overridden with reg edits (as always), so I'm not sure if that will stick around for ever... But the September 'Print Nightmare' seems to have been worked around so I'm still a little bit unsure of what the actual problem is now with the October and November updates (and nobody seems to know)... I for one am not against users being unable to install printers, in fact I moaned in a thread I created a couple of years back about how much trouble I was having trying to stop them (be careful what you wish for, eh?). The way it works here is that users are given a set of printers for their job/role/where they work etc... All through their user log-on, all done by GPP, worked a treat.... Didn't need Point and Print, didn't need manual installs, didn't need Admin credentials... the server gives you the printer... why they needed to stop that working I will never know!

Can you see your ASM Organization ID/DFEAppleID number on the delivery note anywhere (so you can see if it was entered at the time of ordering)? If not, they might not know the correct ASM/DEP to add them to... Have you received an email to your 'Managed Apple ID' account stating your devices are either 'Waiting' or 'Available'...?

Yes, unfortunately I took the decision to roll back in October (and block November).... I know, I know! I seem to remember we used various reg fixes to get over the September issues (as you can see from the date of the post you referenced), but they didn't seem to work for us when October updates kicked in and November didn't fix anything for us. I don't know what to say, it has gone so quiet on the 'Print Nightmare/Print Hell' front it feels like everybody else has got it sorted (somehow), but on my test VMs it (Oct/Nov updates) still kills printing even with various hacks so I can't roll them out. I tried replacing DLLs without much luck (and I don't want to do that site-wide), the only thing that did work was this: '[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Policies\Microsoft\FeatureManagement\Overrides]' DWORD 3598754956 VALUE 0 But I wasn't keen on rolling that out site-wide either...

Ours took a day after they actually arrived to appear in ASM/DEP. You should receive an email (to your Managed Apple ID) either way, if they are 'Waiting' (you haven't added the reseller number into ASM), or are 'Available' (and are now in Apple School Manager). We have added the following in ASM > Settings > Device Management Settings > Customer Numbers - Edit Reseller Numbers - drop down menu COMPUACENTER (UK) LTD (892F050) INSIGHT DIRECT (UK) LTD (3960F70) XMA LIMITED (354BF80) Add... As mentioned above our recent ones came from XMA. You might be able to tell from the delivery advice note if everything was filled in correctly as ours stated ALL the numbers: DFESchoolURN DFEAppleID Order Number Delivery Number Date of Order Your Ref Customer Account Date of Dispatch There was also another set of numbers in the 'Description' section, part of which read '354BF80XM' - this I worked out meant they were from XMA. EDIT: You can find your 'Organization ID' (which translates to DFEAppleID - or AppleOrgID?) in ASM > SETTINGS > Enrollment Information

I'm more surprised that it seems it isn't still causing huge problems as the various printing threads have been fairly quiet recently (or maybe people are just bored with talking about it)... I haven't revisited this since I stopped the October (and November) client updates! I think there might have been recent updates that have cured it for the 20H & 21H brigade (?), but on my test clients both October and November updates just kill printing dead and I haven't seen anything released for lower versions yet that fix it (although we might be reasonably unique in having 2012R2 print server and LTSC clients)...

Well, good point... no, I didn't order them it was our Business Manager (and it wouldn't be the first time he hasn't filled that bit in)... However, on the delivery advice note it does state our 'DFEAppleID'. What I can't see on there is who the reseller is....

And delivered today! Can't see anything waiting for ASM/DEP though and no 'devices pending notification email from Apple'... Does anyone know if they are a bit behind at the moment?

There does appear to be some content on the British Museum site: https://www.britishmuseum.org/learn/schools/ages-7-11/ancient-greece But it mostly seems to be PDF, PowerPoint and Word documents. That's not going to be as exciting or engaging as some interactive Flash content (story/game etc.).

Although the website with the content is Ancient Greece - The British Museum (www .ancientgreece.co.uk) and although there's a British Museum link on the home page and the content is © British Museum, there doesn't appear to be too much else linking the 2 sites.

Anyway... Given that it is a different domain (not even a sub-domain) of the British museum site and the 'support email' is for an ac.uk domain (I wonder if it was a student project), it would appear that this has been left in the annals (notice the extra 'n' it's important) as an artefact of its time with its historic Flash content...

I think the Chinese are a massive source of income from tourism and they are quite well represented in the form of students to this country too.

Thing is I don't think Ancient Greece has changed much either... there are many resources (especially the fundamentals of things like History, Science, Maths) where the actual content will never need to change only the format in which it is produced/displayed, so I kind of do understand teachers relying on tried and trusted resources... I know we should all be flying through the Acropolis with VR headsets by now, but we are not there yet by a long shot... I've suggested to the teacher that he might like to try and start a dialogue with them and point out how useless the resource is in the modern day world of the Internet.... Whois says the domain was registered in 2004, so I imagine the site was created then and left 'as is' ever since....

Thanks, appreciate it - but I'm really trying to avoid any kind of alternatives in trying to get the Flash content to work and guide them to more up to date resources... A struggle we all know only too well I guess... "I bought this CD-ROM of Encyclopedia Britannica in 1985 can you make it work"...
