Wont watch it, its a bit pointless I think and too much with all the parties included myself, I don't see the point in the minority parties being there, I cannot see it being a massive swing election, unless we as a people start voting for all independents and get rid of the party politics systems its going to be the usual soundbite politics and never to be delivered promises. Plus you know this is going to be the medias field day tomorrow anyway and you won't escape it, its going to be all over news sites and papers.

I am interested in going back to Three at the moment, I was with them when they first came to the UK and their handsets were massive, their PAYG then was decent and mimicked a contract and their coverage was fair to terrible, I have been with O2 and now EE for the last couple of years, but the nonsense I am getting trying to get a iPhone 6+ for a decent price on them is farcical now, they will not budge on daft points when I am dealing with them, on Three I can get the phone for £99 and on a £46 tariff, whereas they keep trying to make me pay larger amounts on both and refuse to match another networks tariff. I get the feeling when I request my PAC code it may be the push for them to get it all sorted, though at the same time I half expect them to just say "OK" we will sort it, their attitude to retention is that bad it seems.

I don't know what to make of that in all honesty, most businesses on that scale, even local government have to have some sort of IT provision for their staff, I think I would rather them be on iOS to android, remote wiping being one active security function I can think of there, though I do think that its not as if the iPad has become a super serious "Laptop" replacement, I think its widely acknowledged that you cannot do "Everything" on one of them. Why they didn't kill two birds with one stone and go Surface Pros all around begs a question, would have weighed in a bit cheaper to keep it all onto a single platform with Windows all around, added the fact that the app store is pretty empty would have meant no one in session playing angry birds too

Thats why I avoid WD drives like the plague myself, I have never had a drive with them last more than 2/3 years before I have to RMA it back to them for some reason or another (2 have gotten errors on plattens and one stone cold died and wouldn't power up). I have a "Re-Certified" drive in my windows box at the moment which replaced the 1TB one I sent back to them, I can't rely on it to do anything other than secondary backup of my backups and even then most of my files are already in the cloud these days, its just game installations mostly, though even thats waning.

If you have access to a linux machine, you may want to try and use testdisk and see if that finds the disk (seems linux grabs a disk in a different way to windows and not try to format it if it doesnt recognise it), I have managed to pull a lot of data off a damaged disk for a staff member here using it.

I don't care for it at all myself, it was functional and no nonsense, now its too bright as others echoed and less defined, I gave feedback to that effect too I hate it when they fix stuff that isnt broken, as the old adage goes

I think in the 4 incidents we have had with the SAN here (2 minor and 2 major - one because of a disk/firmware problem and one flash card blowing because of an extended power outage) the support has shown how vital it is in getting stuff remedied quickly, HP's website may be poor, but their support has been pretty top notch so far with NBD visits where necessary and support actually keeping in touch with you about problems when its had to be kept open to arrange out of hours updating of equipment.

Hello All, I am not 100% if this belongs in here or not, if not please move to somewhere more appropriate. I have an issue with our schools spiceworks installation, in that the intel power manager facility has stopped functioning properly, despite updating it regularly to the newest versions. At the moment the machines on the site only partially power up using this module, so it appears to be not working properly, whereas before it powered up everything at 8am for us. I have stuck a post on their support forums and also tried to search there, but its horrible by comparison. I have tried the instructions that I have found on their site, i.e. delete all the schedules and remove and re-add the intel power manager module, but this has had no effect on starting up machines. Has anyone here had experience of resetting this feature and rectifying this problem ? Thanks, Rich

I gave it up, I found it was good until a point, when it just hit a bit of a throttle with building and wanted you to start paying then, which stopped my interest dead. Pretty similar with Clash of Clans as well, although Supercell do give you a fair whack of the premium gems for free comparatively.

If you want to speed up the call too, log into the interface and get the logs from it ready to send they will always ask for them. Leftover when it happened here was because there was some sort of delay in writing back to the disk, so it swung in a spare automatically and left the "faulty" one isolated as a leftover, the disk for us wasnt actually faulty. If it is and your within support they are very good in fairness with the next business day visits.

from my experience with them, there is a technical book on the website which will detail the fault against the codes that will show in the SAN management page, Leftover though from when its happened here seems that it is the state that a disk goes into when its been unable or delayed writing back from the interface and the failover to your spares has kicked in. Check the tech reference first and with HP, when it happened with me, simply removing and reseating the disk brought it back online properly here within the SAN, but I do stress each error is potentially different, if your in doubt, ring HP if you have support, their help is pretty good and their responses have been excellent for the three errors I have experienced with ours. They are indeed very impressive with their tracking, telling you a delivery window and usually the driver arrives just after the time here. They can never wait for long though if picking stuff up, had a couple of near misses with them collecting hot swaps over the years, where the driver was worrying about having to leave as he was going to max out his wait time. Excellent Service from them though

LOL, my bad there I remember watching all of them from the video shop when I was little and on TV, the one tape I managed to wear out though was the Mazinger-Z tape that they had here.

I own a 4s and I can understand the disillusionment entirely, It can be such a love hate swinging relationship with them, they do make some aesthetically lovely kit, but are stingy or expensive in equal measure, in terms of the addon's offered, with the iphone 6 the prices and models offered were terrible in terms of memory and cost of ownership I felt, 16gb storage is ridiculous these days for a high end product that it proclaims to be with the 6/6+ and I think they knew that and actively want people to struggle on the lower end of storage to buy upgrades. I also think the telephone companies are getting a bit ridiculous too though in equal measure, to get a 6+ here they are trying to push me onto a mega contract way in excess of what I use for data and calls per month. I wouldn't even consider the 16gb one either, a staff member here plumped for the 16gb version and has been told in the phone shop that to update their phone they need to plug it in forever and manually carry out an upgrade over itunes, rather than over the air. Storage is another frustration too, I am paying about £1 a month here now for an icloud storage upgrade to 20gb of space, as the ipad mini and iphone 4s I have cannot be backed up in the free 5gb of space, that payment by comparison to competitors amounts offered is ridiculous, I would get 100 gb a piece on OneDrive/Google for a same price I think the apple watching world cried out where's the 32gb model when they landed, but at the same time everyone would have plumped for the cheapest model then and it wouldnt drive up the upgrades.

Also I would add - check you have all the firewall ports opened that it specifies on Meraki, I had an issue where they were all greyed recently because of changes to our firewall when we changed wifi provision.

I find myself in the market for either an air or a rmbp here in the coming weeks I think, I agree with a point made earlier in the thread, I just fancy a different system at home compared to work I think and I have had a chromebook for a year now and would say that it does not cut it by comparison as you can't do everything on it its about 80% compatible with what I use a PC for as it lacks gaming and connectivity to iphone/ipod (I know thats a two way street there though with it pretty much closed off). I looked at the MacBook when it was announced the other day and the USB-C connection seems an annoyance to me, I understand that this is the early adoption end of it so it will be expensive, but I think that device there has a chronic lack of ports with the one, I don't fancy having to bridge the gap in the interim to get devices to plug in would just frustrate me, compared to the connectors on the other machines which are abundant, its impressive technology and high end marketing bs as you always get from apple to be fair, Its interesting and offputting as well that the keyboard is supposed to be awful from reviews I am reading, I also felt that it was too expensive comparative to the other models available, considering you can get retina on a mbp for cheaper.

USB-C seems offputting as its going to be a case of forking out for a whole range of new adapters to bridge the gap, same for USB sticks and so on when it becomes the adopted standard. Those prices are not all that bad there for bleeding edge stuff.

Godzilla 2014 here, it was not good, though marginally better than the original film from the 90s. Was basically 80 minutes of filler for 12 minutes of muto/godzilla fighting, eating nukes was fantastically far fetched

Have you got the Meraki MDM app installed as well as the certificate ? the app seems to force location on much more with better accuracy here, I could see our iPad 4s instantly to about a 10 metre radius when I installed that recently here. Also if they are in rooms where connection is flaky or they idle it does effect it somewhat I noticed. It says that the App shortens battery life as it turns location on more, but as long as you get eight hours out of it, its fine on a full school day.
