I don't see the point in replacing servers if their still under warranty and working well, I don't think Virtualisation puts major strain on things these days, when configured correctly other than storage and the network with writes and events occuring. MS have improved it too to be fair on the OS. I dont know what cover you have on your servers, but our virtualisation nodes came with 5 years warranty from HP and they have been completely solid in that time, (seperate issue I know, but the SAN is a little more questionable from my own experiences, though we did opt for an entry level P2000 here, which has had quite a few issues in its time and parts swapped out for me to say I am happy with it overall). I would probably add on as your going and retire when failing or issues arise there myself.

Thats my worry in this, DC films lately seem to always have had a character that goes over the top to make it become distracting to me. They need to calm down a bit and not rely on things like CGI too, they ruined both MoS and DoJ with that I thought. It looks enjoyable, but I think ill be wondering what will ruin it for me with the film

I read this thread with some interest over the holidays, but I was so busy then studying for my 1st CCNA exam that it got in the way of a reply at the time, but as I am currently a little ahead of the OP situation wise in what I read in this thread topic, I thought I would give you my 2p worth. I am in a similar situation now in that I had progressed to network manager in the school I worked in, the situation here is that there was nowhere for me to go further within the school, were LEA involved, but each school is markedly different in their setups though, so yours may not be the same as mine in premise and going a little further Wales is markedly different to England at the moment schools wise, in that we don't have academisation ongoing or much in the way of structures outside of our singular school environments, were not part of the bigger scene with other schools and MATs, aside from limited second line help from our LEA with a couple of things here. Here the job itself is interesting enough and busy with no two days ever the same, you get a very wide role in a school with an access to a much wider area of IT than you would in other avenues where you would usually need to specialise. I decided about a year ago now to start looking for another job outside of education, I have looked at wages within the area around here and anything in the private sectors offers more it seems to me for the similar skill level. So I got my CV together with some excellent help from @witch, registered my CV and profile on IT jobs | Permanent & contract IT careers | The UK IT Jobs Board at CWJobs.co.uk and also decided to take charge on my own professional development with some self study, (I consider myself to be solid on the Windows/Virtualisation platforms, so I set about getting a better understanding of networking and I am currently going for my CCNA). I also used the BCS as they have a good development planning tool thats free to use. I have developed for myself a 5 year plan regarding my training and study which ends at completing my CCNP Routing and Switching by the age of 40 (little over 4 years to go there) (my longer term goal is to become a Network Engineer - wages tend to be usually higher for these cisco certification related jobs because of the added difficulty of their examinations and the higher skill level needed to configure their equipment properly). I've just passed the plans first stage and got my Cisco CCENT certification passed and I am working my notice period until I take up my new post outside of education as a IT Support Analyst with a large medical products company. My next stage is to get my full CCNA by the end of August this year, CCNA Security next year and CCNA Wireless the year after. The main thing that I would say I have learnt in the last year is - Don't be afraid to take the bull by the horns regarding your own training and development and your working situation and also have a good look at the self study options with certifications, with an hour and half a night a lot of them can be achieved with quite minimal costs. I have passed the CCENT exam here with about £200 total investment - 2x £25 Cisco Books, 2x £15 Video based courses from Udemy.com and the rest was on a small lab kit for authentic cisco switches and a router to practice upon (though I could have just made do with Cisco's own Packet Tracer looking back). Course providers charge a significant premium for the structuring and delivery of the course materials which you can avoid.

Cheers I will be ordering myself a couple of SNES pads on payday. Loving the power of the Pi 3 here so far, emulating dreamcast stuff is pretty outstanding for such a small computer. Soulcalibur 2 on that platform was one of my favourites, and I am also partial to the original Shinobi on MAME, seems I am now able to play every game I ever had or enjoyed in my childhood and store them on a single computer the size of a credit card, just need to get me a massive micro SD card to store it all.

we have had the boxes of them here, 3 large boxes and assorted little ones for the power supply bits.

Can anyone recommend me a decent joypad for gaming on the pi (I am thinking non-xbox360 related here) I am having masses of fun with my Pi and its emulation at the moment, though I am finding that using an xbox 360 joypad is a drag as its overly complicated for the older games, anyone recommend me some old arcade style joypads ? a gentleman I used to work with had a job in the BT office directors department, he told us that they have a separate team who deal with complaints at this level and get them resolved rather than the call centre staff below them. Check on the compensation, because about 10 years back my parents had a couple of thousand off them as they didnt have a working phone line for 6 months+ - it was a set amount of compensation per day of not working - they still have intermittent issues because for some reason, BT buried a DP in a manhole near them in an area of common land which regularly gets flooded over and above the manhole cover.

Get your local MP involved ? Write to the MDs of the people involved ? explaining that your getting no satisfaction at the call centre level and its a serious issue with business impact. Local News as well if its causing your business horrible problems like that as you cant get it fixed, usually it gets the right people "on the case" in these media Savvy times.

Child of the Acorn Electron here, parents bought me one for my 6th birthday (1986), built sturdy too, nearly at Ferguson Videostar standards of durability had to connect a separate tape recorder too, magical times there waiting for games to load. I also started out on the internet in the 90s with a 14.4k modem, though I am wagering we will not be long before people on here connected from the days of ADSL/Cable Modems only.

I have a gel case on my 6+ here and take super care of it, I bought a griffin case for my wife (though be weary I got hit with a customs charge on that from america), otter box are decent too, had my mother buy one after she bust her phone a couple of times.

I am weary of buying goods from America these days, I got stung with an extra £14 customs bill for my wifes Griffin iPhone case in the last few months.

Could it also be play in the steering rack joints ? that was an advisory on my MOT last year and I've noticed that I get a bit of vibration around 70 here that stops after a few more mph if I'm overtaking, despite the balancing and tracking being fine on my vectra. Also I was told that I should get the front and back tires swapped once in a while here because of the way they wear.

that is high for a device, out of interest are your VMs running with defrag on them too ? I was under the impression from what I read a long time back to turn that off on VMs and the hosts to prevent any unnecessary writes on backing up of data if your using something like veeam, though that may not be the case these days. Could the VMs be doing plenty of writes on the disk if their hosted there ?

I struggle at 12 here, shops generally only have the most ugly/cheap shoes available at that price usually. Managed to buy a nice pair of sketcher shoes yesterday that had up to a size 15 in their shops (American sizes so a 14 I am guessing)

The MTA stuff is the real entry level stuff and quite simple to study I would bet, given that it was available to those who went to BETT recently for free by one of the trainers at the event, if you want their major Certs its MCSE/A path stuff to follow (3 or 5 exams I believe based on what you want to achieve) Depending how you want to learn, you can do the self study routes with a lot of these products for low costs just paying for the books and exams, I am studying my CCNA that way, the two exam books were £30 each and its another £120 for an exam.

I had the apple email a while back and felt the requirements were comical on the iPad spec, can understand it's a new product, but again its unsuitable for large majorities

Veeam for me, it works outstanding once it's sorted to your liking with minimal fuss, not looked at Alfaro though

I feel similar pain when I have to power up my Windows boot area on my macbook to have to use my parents activex based CCTV software, its awful, we have to do the same here for our CCTV too and it is the same for our usage here though of a horrific java/IE supported courier label printing interface at work, which has always been problematic for our site and its quirks. Edge isnt any great improvement either imo, though it apparently is early days - as far as I am concerned though, no ublock/adblock - no likey ! Lloyds has a special place in my heart though for the pain of their normal account pages, I dare not change a thing security wise on there as I will likely never get in again, complete PITA.
