It looks stupid to the point where I would rather see the price rise to keep it the same. It doesn't have anything to do with brexit really, Mondelez/Kraft have been consistently doing this since they took over Cadbury in the UK, upping prices, fiddling with recipes and dropping amounts, they have shrunk most products they sell now and fiddled with recipes to the point where I don't eat it these days as it seems now to set off some weird sensitivity reaction with my teeth when I try some of the Dairy Milk bars. Strange as other chocolate brands don't seem to do this it my teeth.

I'm weirdly working in a place that has no issues with Flash as nothing we use relies on that horror here which is good. Saying that - Java - Still hating this junk so many years on and the problems it causes, every update cycle triggers many issues with specialised software for us. Bad Software - the horrific product that someone ran with that becomes integral to a business function - there are lots of different programs in my time that I have dealt with and supported that cause no end of trouble just by being poorly written or written in a way that targets the end user and not the people supporting it - Sibelius and Adobe in education would be of them for sure, as would Citrix Xenserver, seen some majorly painful things happen because of them. Third its a tossup between Windows updates(the lack of Service Packs especially are a major PITA for all of us in rebuilding) and the wonder of financial packages - I had a recent headache for a day or so as a planned domain join and name change seemingly broke a product, but it did as this horror was coded to use a full UNC it seemed and shares out of a public user directory on the server.

remember the sheep that was quite amusing on windows 95, can't say I was a fan of the spyware filled bonzi buddy though here, though it did make me money removing it.

The only advice I would give on these devices is that if you can run the proper cables to the device I would say do that always and every time, this isn't a helpful shortcut with these devices from what I have seen, they can be very quirky and problematic. We don't use Audio here, but we have had a major PITA in work with the extender and one of of our PCs - it needs to be sent to an area over 50m away and these devices are always troublesome, our first sender died about 2 months back and the lindy replacement has been not without issues with the displaying of the image onto the screen, the replacement image works, but won't do extended desktops and they have to be reset in a certain order, which is always painful as the receiver unit is up above the ceiling tiles here.

Just wanted to say, thanks for all your help, this has now fired up and started working, I did three things which seem to have been a cure, though I am not 100% on what had the effect to make it fire up and at this stage I am too scared to try and see what it was. 1. I made a specific single user - [email protected] after seeing that on here, this is not a shared mailbox, the other two accounts I used before were shared. 2. I added in an additional pair of IIS Role services to the server - IIS Client Certificate Mapping Authentication and IP Security after reading through an MS webpage. Went to lunch after triggering a test and came back to the test email from an internal server here.

I am at a bit of an impasse here with the SMTP relay, because I have several legacy apps that need to send unauthenticated emails, I have done countless tweaks and setups of the IIS relay following various amounts of instructions of which nothing has worked so far. Its not a firewall issue, as I have rules in place specifically allowing it to connect and I have run the telnet session from the server, but it will not send, I have solarwinds orion running and using that to test it and from a server point of view the machine is setup and showing as test successful in pointing to the server internally for SMTP, it reports that the test email has gone out fine, but it will not mail anything externally from the box as I dont receive the email in my box. Its very frustrating to say the least here. I am now setting it to have a specific account - SMTP@ just for this purpose to see if that is an issue.

Can someone clear up this detail from what I have read as I am trying to work through this today to get this stage nailed so I can dehook the exchange server we have hosted - the fact that my domain name suffix - sitename.local - does not match the email domain name - i.e. company.co.uk - is supposedly an issue from somewhere I read. Is that likely to be a case on this as I cant find a definitive answer. Also - am I able to set this relay machine up as a direct send device and get around any issues that way ? or is the fact that my FQDN is different to the mail domain likely to cause further agro ? cheers @FN-GM I didnt realise that you could do direct send with O365, that looks more likely a solution for us, some of this stuff refuses to use authenticated emails, just wants an IP and address and the SMTP relay solution doesnt work for us after wasting an afternoon faffing about with it.

This was an issue within my organisation and I had to gear this up to do this part all in one for my team, as it would have caused similar issues to what your seeing, I realised early on that our rooms and equipment bookings all hinged on SMT being able to see them, same for the shared calendars in place as well, it was easier for me to do all the people sharing in a batch and get them over at the same time.

Hello all, I am in the middle of a mail migration to Office365 for the company I am working for, phase1 has gone fine so far with only minor account related issues - I got everyones mailboxes over to O365 fine. Phase 2 which I am in now, I need to get a solution in place to allow Unauthenticated Email forwarding - we have a number of legacy/bespoke systems that are in operation that do not use authenticated email accounts which need to be able to email. I have tried so far doing an IIS SMTP relay, but despite spending 2+ hours working through many scenarios, instructions and blog posts I am unable to get that working with Office365 to send the email. What I want to know is has anyone else here done this before and is there another product or service that has been used ? or does anyone have a set of instructions on how they actually got O365 to do this with IIS relay. £1899 for an "Entry Level" 15" seems awfully high to me with a £300 increase, its a wonder people reacted against the pricing really, the top end one have had an increase of £700 so thats probably drawn the biggest gasps.

Felt it was a little gimmicky, know their pushing the USB-C ports, but their still the only ones bothered about them that much at this stage, hard to tell really how popular that will be, given their insistence on other tech that never took off previously like Thunderbolt. Personally I wouldn't buy another MBP at that price, I have a 2013 15" Retina MBP which is still going strong and that new entry level for an entry level laptop - the price is very off putting to me and I think it will prove a little harmful to them in the long run with that pricing, its entered stupid territory now price wise compared to offerings from Alienware/MSI/Asus for high end laptops. I assume that they will probably do similar for iMacs in the new year too and gouge up the price.

You need both, I find Xbox controller doesn't suit older games myself which is why I bought a USB snes controller too

The TV series has already lost me based on the fact that so much is off canon now already 12 episodes in.

I don't see it playing WoW smoothly on 4gb of ram myself there, thats asking a bit much unless its running at 1024x768 resolution or similar.

Hello all, What alternatives are there to Bitlocker that people would recommend ? i.e. to encrypt the full laptop hard disk. I am wondering as I have a few older laptops that are 7 pro and we don't run with Enterprise licensing to allow encryption using Bitlocker. Thanks, Rich
