Are you running VirtualBox on Linux or Windows? If Linux, occasionally a kernel upgrade will cause the underlying VMs to be out of step. Resolved with: sudo /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup Otherwise, do the virtual machines expect some real hardware which is missing or changed on the real machines? This sometimes happens when you create a machine on, say, Linux, and move it to a Windows machine. There are XML meta files (*.vbox) files which reside with the virtual disk images. You could try inspecting these to see if there's something strange with the configuration.

Yes, I have a tariff which isn't on the menu. They seem to have a selection of tariffs which aren't advertised. Just phone them up, ask to change your tarrif and tell them what you want. I had a specific requirement for unlimited data, but my call use is very light, so I got 150 mins + unlimited Virgin + unlimited texts + unlimited data for £10/month. As my family are also on Virgin, my off net minutes are only about 10 - 20 per month. I've always found Virgin CS very good.

I've had mine for about 6 months and I'm very happy with it. It's cheap, battery is good, it's very tough, and its performance is quite adequate for the price.

That looks very promising. Zoom are a sound device company, so it would be a safe bet to say the sound would be good. Check some reviews and Youtube demos, this could be just what you need. Use a tripod, handling noises would ruin a recording.

Personally, I'd record the audio and video separately. I'd use something like a Zoom H1 field recorder to record first-class sound (place it amongst the musicians, or wherever the sound mix is best), then overdub the recorded audio to video taken with another camera.

I've had success with rebuilding the indexes. Not reindexing, but rebuilding them. Last time I looked (correct me if I'm wrong) the SIMS reindex tool doesn't update the stats, so even though the indexes are reorganised, the built-in query optimiser isn't able to make full use of the stats for its queries. A rebuild forces fresh stats. If you want to try a maintenance plan to rebuild the indexes, here's how.
