SQL 2014 uses different algorithms for the query optimiser. The SIMS-supplied reindexing tool is unlikely to be of much help as it doesn't recreate the statistics (last time I looked at it, anyway - but correct me if I'm wrong). However, rebuilding the indexes might have some benefit (as rebuilding creates stats from scratch). You'll also need to use UPDATE STATISTICS to update the column statistics, as rebuilding will update the index stats but not the column stats. Clear as mud? Anyway, this particular problem with SQL 2014 is to with the 'cardinality estimation'. In other words, how many rows does the server think is in a table. This information is gleaned from the SQL statistics, which is essential for the SQL query optimiser. If you restore a database created with a version below SQL 2014, the cardinality estimation will be significantly inaccurate, and the query optimiser will produce inefficient algorithms. Robcopy doesn't work like that. You specify the folders - and only the folders - for the source and destination. If you want specific files or types of files, these are listed after the folders.

Another thing, apt (the tool to install software) can use its own configuration file. I tend to configure this independently of other settings. I'm betting that your proxy expects domain credentials, so here's how you do this. Edit the file /etc/apt/apt.conf (e.g. sudo gedit /etc/apt/apt.conf) and paste these values in, substituting your values where appropriate. Don't forget the semi-colons on the end of the lines. I'd recommend a Humax box all day long. I've got an old Humax Freesat FOXSAT-HDR box (which pre-dates Freetime/Youview) partnered with a Chromecast for Netflix, IPlayer and all the other demand/catchup stuff. Humax are solid and reliable, and run cool and quiet.

He's badgered into forming a band, where they showcase his son's songs. The songs were written by his son, but he keeps this a secret. There's a reason for this, and it's quite a twist. The Judge. I'm not a fan of Robert Downey Jr, but he's very good in this. He's a lawyer and estranged son of a stubborn old judge. The judge is charged with running over and killing a recently-released criminal he sent down. It's a good story and well worth a watch.

I did a project a while ago using Linq and Entity Frameworks. It was nice to program using native SQL objects, rather than constructing SQL strings (like in ADO). This has always seemed messy, writing in one language to construct another. Linq seems a much cleaner way of working with SQL as part of a larger project. Here's a video about Linq and EF. See if it's something you want to pursue.

It looks like a really good phone OS. I'm a big fan of Ubuntu anyway, so that is probably tinting my view, but this article is suggesting that it's a mistake releasing the OS on a comparatively feeble platform. When it comes to competing 'freedoms' (as listed above), it is the job of government to legislate such that freedom from harm by the actions of others should trump a freedom to do something demonstrably injurious. It's down to a flaw in the way Windows stores the path. (256 bytes) Two common approaches are: 1. Map a drive letter as far into the path as you can, then copy (hence shortening the path string) 2. Use Robocopy and prefix the paths with '\\?\' (without the quotes) which will use 32768 characters to store the path.
